Don't mean shit when so much of your population lives in poverty.
Thinking about it, the world's standards must pretty low
Doesn't change the fact that we're ridiculously behind on everything, taxes rape price of things that aren't made here and well over half the country is poor as shit

You can have an amazing job, but still be in a fuckton of debt.
UK? UK? GIBE MONEY OR I REPORT HUEHUEHUE
How is US first having the biggest debt?
The US being first economically is part of why they are first in debt.
Most indicators will be larger.
In this instance, while the US isn't the worst in a debt to gdp ratio, the debt is so much larger because the economy is also so much larger
All of China is getting old due to their 1-child laws, in a couple of years they will have a load of non-working old people with not enough young people to make up for it.
And that leads to another problem: the male:female ratio in china is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off, so there will be a lot of single men there in the future.
And that leads to another problem: the male:female ratio in china is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off, so there will be a lot of single men there in the future.

If you want a measurement of average standard of living, use GDP per capita. If you want a measurement of force/strength behind an economy, use GDP reg.
Not really that accurate, by that standard Qatar has the highest standard of living in the world and the US has the second highest standard of living in the West.
I don't FEEL like we have the top economy, it's obviously not there for the middle class :/
I don't FEEL like we have the top economy, it's obviously not there for the middle class :/
We don't have the best economy by size though. Per capita, we only have the 7th best economy.

It's bad for China because it means a very small percentage of the population will be able to produce a new generation of workers.

I'm not any type of American hater or anything, but I still find it hard to believe it has a higher standard of living than the entirety of the EU.

Adjusted for inequality It drops to 23rd (from 4th).

Hey look, someone doesn't understand economics!
Having the best economy doesn't mean the general population's quality of life is high...
Having the best economy doesn't mean the general population's quality of life is high...
Is anyone saying otherwise?
Measuring the size of world economies is exactly what they have done here. I don't understand why people are having a problem with this.
Slums + Overexploitation Rain Forests + Corruption = Large economy???
Actually. When thinking about it, it seems reasonable...
