I hope this is somehow turned into super awesome rocket fuel. To go to Mars. To make space colonies with.
Not particularly impressive. She just put together a whole bunch of balls and sticks and didn't have a clue what she was doing.
It's like banging on a keyboard and accidentally having it turn out to be correct sentence in Finnish, even if you don't know Finnish.
She's managed to do more with her balls than you or I did at ten years old, accidentally or not.
Well, she made a cool looking model and a kind teacher helped her get it created.
If anything, her teacher should be awarded for his teaching passion.
This is why curiosity and questions should be encouraged. A dull and quite frankly bad teacher would have either said no, or, I don't know to avoid answering something they didn't know and would have never thought twice about the kids model.
This teacher obviously gets a kick out of his job and science, which is good.
I'm glad there are still people that like to ask questions and find out new things.
The way my high school did it, we had something called IPC (Integrated Physics and Chem(Basic stuff across the field)) freshman year, then Biology Sophomore year, then Chem Junior year. Since we were only required to take 3 years of science, taking Physics senior year was optional.

That's the thing about US education. It's really up the district what you learn. Some schools are really good while others suck.
Our school does biology freshman year, then IPC, or Chem sophomore year. Physics junior, and whatever the hell science there is left senior year. They make us do four years of science, although it's either AP Chem, AP Physics, or other shitty classes like Earth/Space Science or Environmental Sciences. But most of us had a general knowledge of what a molecule was long before that.
If you want to make your chemistry teacher shit his pants, threaten to mix ammonium nitrate and copper.
[sp]fyi, that will make an explosive that's sensitive to air movement and will go off by you breathign near it, so, I dont recommend making it.[/sp]
Gasoline plus polystyrene is where it's at
