good fuck the church and those sick fuck priests who worship at this statue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_sex_abuse_cases_by_country#Brazil http://www.thecatholiccoverup.com/article.php/20100415063813556 http://fromtheleft.wordpress.com/2010/03/17/catholic-priests-under-investigation-for-molesting-boys-in-brazil/ these child molesters think that just because they're in a poor country they can take advantage of the children there
Hey you edgy atheist you sound like the biggest tool ever
you think this is art? it is a symbol of the church's power over the world. it's on a mountain for christ's sake overlooking everything. the church is an organization of systematic child molestations that is covered up and allowed to continue because people are so ignorant and naive this is nothing more than a symbol for child molestation and ignorance. it isn't art work. it's propaganda
Are you angry because they offended your sexuality? Also, every priest is not a paedophile, saying so is plain ignorance and stereotypical.
I don't know, personally I think they were drawing attention to the crime that continues to plague the city and the government's apparent lack of concern, particularly since it'll be the site of the 2012 Olympics. I say this because the graffiti also listed the names of those who had recently been killed or disappeared.
jesus christ why would they do something like that
Doesn't matter if the statue idolizes a religion or whatever, but it's a god damned impressive statue and does not deserve to be vandalized in any way shape or form.

Christ is seen as the embodiment of this; he is the redeemer. According to the Christian faith, he saved all of humanity from eternal darkness, and whether or not you think it's a batshit crazy thing to believe in, it has a hell of a lot more meaning to it then "Child Abuse."
Doesn't matter if the statue idolizes a religion or whatever, but it's a god damned impressive statue and does not deserve to be vandalized in any way shape or form.
Exactly. If would be like if some fucker started smashing pyramids.
Exactly. If would be like if some fucker started smashing pyramids.
Pyramids are a completely different story. It's like comparing Adolf Hitler to Ted Bundy.

Eduardo Paes is a faggot, I hate him. Also I was born in Rio but I've never been to the Cristo Redentor. :sigh:
This statue is amazing, it doesn't deserve to be vandilized

It takes time to realize that you are acting like an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about, so it is recommended that you lurk for at least two weeks or until you calm down to the point where you aren't shitposting all over the place. Until then, any posts involving religion may result in flaming, banning, or even death. We know how you feel during this delicate time of transition, and we honestly don't give a fuck. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach us by screaming wildly at your computer screen. Thank you, FacePunch
That statue is bad ass why would someone do this?
I am an Atheist myself but I still can respect a great work of art like this. There is no need to vandalize a work like that at all.
Pyramids are a completely different story. It's like comparing Adolf Hitler to Ted Bundy.
No, the pyramids symbolized a stairway to the gods for ancient Egyptians, so it really is the same thing, they both symbolize religion
Didn't the Muslims (Arabs) take it down? Or should I say, "break it down".
If by Muslims, you mean A giant Earthquake, then yes.
Doesn't really matter, regardless, they will still believe in a false religion.
You know this how? [editline]11:30PM[/editline]
I really don't see how vandalism proves anything.
Proves that some people have to go lower than what they don't agree with to say something. It's pathetic.
that's not nice.
Huehuehuehuehuehuehue
If they put that picture up in front, maybe no one will notice
damn vandals! :argh: Here in Brazil seems to be getting fucked up. fuckin our present from the french ppl! [editline]12:33AM[/editline]
Me too. And as a brazilian, born in Rio too (two people already!) I am really sad. Crime is terrible down there. :smith:
hey, crime is everywhere, don't say like here is a Place for crimes!
So every non-religious is a heartless prick?
He said: SOMEONE who isn't religious. Not: ANYONE who isn't religious. Damn these atheists victimising themselves before the "Christian Oppression". [editline]03:44AM[/editline] Plus, Brazil is a total crap when it comes to graffiti vandalism. São Paulo, for example, is bathed in ugly ink hieroglyphs from primate gangs named "manos". Literally everywhere. I find it kinda good that this stupid statue got vandalised, though. MAY it point out attention towards this fucked up ink "culture" we live in.

Or you're just an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about.
Yet god did nothing.
It's gonna come to life and become... MEGA JESUS!!! Then it will come to life.
Maybe because Jesus is arab or possibly black and that statue isn't.
-snip for a Damn broken auto merge
No, the pyramids symbolized a stairway to the gods for ancient Egyptians, so it really is the same thing, they both symbolize religion
Additionally, due to the slave labor needed to build the pyramids, the ancient Egyptian religion arguably had as many negative effects as the Christian religion.
Since nobody's done it yet, :wtc:. Just imagine that as "What the- Christ?"
