What it has to do with, is that I keep seeing all these people like Kayne west.. their music always sounds the same, it's usually pretty crap in my opinion too. I have yet to see any festivals with these kind of bands.. anywhere.
I remember when I was 15 too.
I mean seriously if you're talking about festivals with music like those videos I have a list as long as my arm. Like seriously you have to be 15 or musically ignorant, it's one of the two so I really hope it's the first.
Funny you should say that because what you posted (and ESPECIALLY the first song) can easily be mistaken for Rammstein at a glance.
2 bands really... Eisbrecher & Rammstein....I have yet to find another band like them.
Pitty neither have toured in years.

I've been searching for years.... Do give me said list?.... or is it written in size 72 font?
Kayne West is a big name brand and rap music causes kneejerk reactions in a lot of music so he's a guy who its popular to hate before you even get to his questionable behaviour
The only track of his I can remember listening to is "Power" and I actually really liked that, so I might have a better a look at his music. I might like it or I might not but I'm not going to prejudge it based on it being a genre I don't usually listen to at all
I would actually say check out My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it's the album that POWER is on and it's probably his best album in opinion.
Seriously, I bet I can find 5 artists that sound exactly like Kayne west. Wanna know why? Because pop music is piss easy to make and teenage girls lap it up.
I didn't want to be baited but fuck it

that is not generic pop music. None of that album is. And none of his albums before were, even 808s and heartbreak wasn't cookie cutter pop and it did something different and revolutionised pop music at the time. Yeezus certainly wasn't pop, and His latest album doesn't seem on track to be pop. So I'm really confused about what Kanye songs you're talking about right now
Seriously, I bet I can find 5 artists that sound exactly like Kayne west..
Please do exactly that.
Nice of you to post a video that highlights musical cliches that we've all seen and that Kanye avoids like the plague (which you'd know if you had actually listened to him)
We really need a Kanye megathread or something.
Seriously, I bet I can find 5 artists that sound exactly like Kayne west. Wanna know why? Because pop music is piss easy to make and teenage girls lap it up.
Do it then.

'All mainstream music is the same garbage! How dare people like this!!?!?'
Kanye's presence is a present, kiss his ass.
What a joke. His music isn't really what I like, its okay for what it is I guess, but he is a egocentric prick. No way in a million years will I kiss ass to a self proclaimed "genius".

Bloodstock, Wacken Open Air, Sonisphere (but it's not on this year), Roadburn, Heavy Days In Doom Town, Tuska Open Air, Hellfest, Rangnarok Open Air just to name less than 1% of general Heavy Metal Festivals in Europe alone.
Dude, either you're 15 or your gogglefu is weak, it's not hard to find all this stuff at all and I remember when I was a metalhead, literally the worst phase of musical tastes expressly because I shut out all other genres convinced metal was the shit and I missed out on a lot of good music for a long time.
Please do exactly that.

Kid Cudi
Drake
Lupe Fiasco
Diddy
Wale
...
Need I go on?

What songs are you basing this on?
I don't know why it's impressive for anyone to name 5 artists that sound like anyone because you can literally do it for any artist, even obscure shit like Merzbow.
Seriously, I bet I can find 5 artists that sound exactly like Kayne west. Wanna know why? Because pop music is piss easy to make and teenage girls lap it up.
Just because something is popular does not mean it is pop-styled. Also, make sure to find pop artists that came before Kanye West, because it's not fair to find people who were inspired by him and claim he's a doppleganger.
What songs are you basing this on?
Listened to 3-4 random songs from each of them.
I can't be fucked to list them and frankly I've derailed the thread enough. That and I've got work tomorrow and the lab gear shall be arriving, it's gonna be a long day setting it all up and I need some rest.
Call it evens, call it odd's I don't want to subject myself to any more torture by having to listen to them. All the pop songs now have rap in them.
Just tried out Kayne west's music... hated it.
Try something like this:
-Eisbrecher-
...if you're going to suggest music as an alternative to other music you should probably keep it in the same genre and, y'know, language :v:

Sites will even do it for you:
http://www.last.fm/music/Kanye+West/+similar
But even then, each of these guys have their own specific style, and are musically related on some basic levels and nothing more.
Kid Cudi
Drake
Lupe Fiasco
Diddy
Wale
...
Need I go on?
well I mean you just compared Kanye to Diddy and Wale, which is just silly
Lupe Fiasco yeah they probably have some similarities because they're contemporaries from Chicago, and Lupe isn't pop btw
Kid Cudi and Drake essentially have the careers they do thanks to Kanye bringing the rapper/singer combo into the mainstream and even then Drake's lyrics often focus on different subjects to Kanye and Kid Cudi once again raps about very different things
keep going though if you want

So basically instead of justifying your entry level music opinion you're just gonna sidestep it?

So, you called up musicians with around a decade or more of work, listened to a couple of songs and came up to a conclusion that it's just another lucky pop hit that teenager girls go crazy about?
if you're an adult and you have this reasoning, good lord have mercy
So basically instead of justifying your entry level music opinion you're just gonna sidestep it?
More that I honestly can't be bothered to keep this up against a load of Kayne / pop fanboys.

Maybe I'm just trying to justify myself because I can see I'm loosing the battle, Still gonna hate it though.
More that I honestly can't be bothered to keep this up against a load of Kayne / pop fanboys when I have big kid stuff to do.
I don't listen to Kanye West or pop.
More that I honestly can't be bothered to keep this up against a load of Kayne / pop fanboys when I have big kid stuff to do.
It's not that anyone here is a fanboy, it's that you're naive and ignorant?

Yeah you must be 15, I was just like that.
It's not that anyone here is a fanboy, it's that you're naive and ignorant?
Ok, maybe I'm wrong, eh. I'm just fed up of having to go to work and listen to 8 hours of rap/pop every day on the radio. Can't wait until my lab is finished so I can move in there and work in piece and quiet.
I come home and then my sister has it loud on her laptop in the room above me, the room to the side of me is the kitchen and mum has it on the radio too.... SAVE ME.
More that I honestly can't be bothered to keep this up against a load of Kayne / pop fanboys.
Because there's no such thing as shooting down a shit, uninformed opinion. Just fanboyism.
More that I honestly can't be bothered to keep this up against a load of Kayne / pop fanboys.
lol I'm not a fan of most pop, the only reason I'm pursuing this is because you completely ignored my post pointing out that only one album Kanye's done in his whole career can really be considered 'pop' and even then it's a stretch
So, you called up musicians with around a decade or more of work, listened to a couple of songs and came up to a conclusion that it's just another lucky pop hit that teenager girls go crazy about?

And posted that response 7 minutes after I asked, so it's unlikely he put in any real reasoning honestly
Do you really think I honestly believe what I am saying to justify myself? I stated my opinion. When you guys hounded after me I figured I would just play along... bloody hell.
Music is all about opinion and personal tastes.
The only truth is that I really wish I could see more tours of my kind of music.
EDIT:
It's crazy how rabid people go when they see someone disagreeing with them or showing 'ignorance' in their opinions.
It's not that anyone here is a fanboy, it's that you're naive and ignorant?
Well alright his posts are pretty ridiculous but Facepunch definitely has a small crowd of Kanye fanboys that'll defend literally anything he does and become furious when someone says he's anything other than a musical genius :v:
(not saying that's you, I don't exactly write their names down)
