locked her in a homemade bunker he spent five years building
What a crazy guy. I really doubt that we'll be seeing a light sentence. Sweden isn't that bad.
old news! but damn he is one psycho, its like a horror movie IMO i bet a future horror movie will be based on this because its one hell of a story
uhm there already has it's known as "Män som hatar kvinnor" by Niels Arden Oplev
I know, they can go in for therapy and file appeals if possible, but honestly I doubt any judge would want to believe that this kind of individual would even be capable of showing reformation. Ultimately, isn't it down to the judges to decide on whether probation is awarded to a criminal or not? Though out of curiosity, have any cases of similar sensation ever resulted in a more lenient sentence before? I know criminals can file appeals to get life sentences reduced, but I also hear that clemency's very rarely granted in such instances, and often not at all.
I don't have anything concrete at the top of my head but I know I've read about criminals going to their old habits after being allowed to go on probation. One guy in particulars who had killed someone (don't recall any name right now) started threatening his psychiatrist after he was allowed to go on probation. Another example was a guy due for court or something who strangled and killed a female guard inside a walled courtyard after he asked if he could smoke a cigarette.
