i'm really confused how tin tin didn't get a nomination
won golden globe, completely snubbed by oscars
If 'Puss in Boots' or 'Kung Fu Panda 2' are picked instead of Rango I will cry.
Drive is only for best sound? Fuck that shit.
Eh this year nominations kind of suck, the next year oscars should be pretty interesting. With the dark knight rises and the hobbit etc.
I thought the adventures of Tintin could do better. Only best original score...

Wait a minute, not even nominated for best animated film. The people choosing these should be fired.
To be fair, it seems as though getting an Oscar is almost guaranteed if:
1) You have a story about a horse.
2) It's about a musical prodigy (not bashing these, usually these ones actually *are* very good)
3) It's a war movie.
4) It's a Special effects orgy.
5) It has a tear-jerker ending.

I think the war movie one is debatable as a war movie alone will just be snubbed the Oscar committee for being too violent and mainstream. Unless you're talking about sound/visual editing in which case action movies usually get spots there (Ex. Transformers). The tear-jerker one is pretty valid though as you usually have a couple on the Best Film list.
What the fuck? Tintin isn't picked for the best animation?
Tintin probably has the best animation I've ever seen in a movie.

and yet kung fu panda 2 and puss in boots got in?
they were so shit compared to tintin.

Doesn't matter I'd still pick Rango over all of em
I watched Midnight in Paris a few days ago. It's pretty good.
i nominate fear and loathing in vegas
I haven't seen any of the ones in best picture.
I probably should get around to doing that.
Hugo getting 11 nominations is quite ridiculous.
I hated it. All the directorial skill in the world can't make up for a dull as dishwater story.

Would love for The Artist to win best picture, it's a genuinely good movie.
lmao no love for drive, great job as usual academy. At least they didn't nominate cars 2 and got this right
BEST ACTOR
Gary Oldman - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
BEST ACTOR
Gary Oldman - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
I haven't seen that yet so my opinion might change but I'd love for Jean Dujardin to win.
I just want gary oldman to win an academy award really. Then even more of the dark knight rises cast will be academy award winners yeaaa

Animation films using motion capturing don't get nominated .
Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton don't make it in but Jonah Hill does. What can you say?

Yeah I'd like him to win something for once too. He's a great actor.
drive nominated for only one award? fuck the oscars
Also folks don't get your hopes built up for next year's award season. Your favourite movies aren't going to win shit. You will only find the likes of TDKR and Prometheus in the technical categories, at a push a nomination for Chris Nolan as director. The Hobbit might do well but the Academy will probably wait until Part II to go bananas with the awards.
Where the fuck is "Star spangled man" from Captain America on Best Original Song?
In Animated, where's Tintin? Where's Pooh?
HOW COME I HAVEN'T WATCHED A SINGLE ONE OF THE BEST PICTURE MOVIES?
BEST SOUND MIXING
Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Greg P. Russell, Gary Summers, Jeffrey J. Haboush and Peter J. Devlin

Facepunchers are more than willing to flaunt their ignorance of today's movies.

Only one of these movies came out over here in Brazil.
Only one of these movies came out over here in Brazil.
Is it true that 2012 won't be released in Brazil until 2016?
Is it true that 2012 won't be released in Brazil until 2016?
Good for Brazil in all honesty.
Good for Brazil in all honesty.
Nah. Unfurtonately, we already saw that movie being released here.
Hugo, Moneyball, all of these are not out over here. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is. Tintin just came out.
Hollywood is weird. Sometimes, movies are released here before they are on Brazil, sometimes a week later, sometimes a month later, sometimes three months later, sometimes never.
