I think it's a cancerous piece of shit compared to the Gamecube controller.
If I have to play Smash with that thing that looks like an extremely uncomfortable hybrid between the worst of the PS3 controller mixed with the worst of the 360 controller, I'd rather not play at all.

But everyone owns a game cube controller. I don't want to have to buy 3 more classic controller pros.

it's better than the first edition of the thing

It looks exactly the same, but with handle bars.
it's better than the first edition of the thing
Yea but Its going to suck to have to buy 50$ worth of controller so me and my friends can play the new smash bros.
I don't like the idea of making different accounts for each game I play.

The Pro version is better for modern games, but the normal version is much better for SNES games on the Virtual Console.
Did they abandon the friend code system?
Did they abandon the friend code system?
Ubisoft said that they did.
But I'll believe it when we see a confirmation from Nintendo themselves.

And then us lucky Europeans get this! Perfection.

When did Nintendo become open to third partys?
I'm used to the old Nintendo where anything third party was insanely restricted to insure that first party games made the most money, such as the policy where a third party publisher could only publish at most 5 a year.
It's probably best they let third parties handle online.
We all know how good Nintendo is with this whole "Interwebbie" thingie.
Fucking friend codes, seriously...
Okay this is cool, still no word on better third party support but this is a step in the right direction.
I smell steam on wii u. Anybody else smell it?
Steamworks? Console of the Year.
Add GameCube controller support and then you've got console of the yeah, hell. Add mouse and keyboard support and they'll gather a few looks from everyone.
But they still haven't released a price. Im willing to buy it if its around 350$ at launch.
I never had to deal with the hassle of friend codes because I have no friends.
I'm sorry, but one of the greatest gaming systems ever, the Nintendo 64, wasn't even out at that time. I'd say they went uphill.
Oh, I forgot about that. The year 2000 would be more fitting then.

You didn't like super smash brows melee?
Smash Bros Melee was amazing for its time. But my god, I cannot enjoy it that much after playing the shit out of Brawl.

I like the Original SSB, the others just felt stale.

I really doubt it.

You realize the Wii has keyboard support, right? :v:
You realize the Wii has keyboard support, right? :v:
Oh yeah, that's right, I remember now, you could plug a USB keyboard into the back.
Heck, the Touch-screen itself is already like a mouse. Combine the keyboard with the pad and you've got yourself PC controls right there.
The controller screen would make an awesome Steam interface. Heck, if it's going to be a flexible online system, then Nintendo may even let third parties provide their own download services, meaning a Steam similar to PC would be quite possible.

Keyboard support?
Wii U graphics tablet?
Console version of Source SDK?
Honestly, you could quite easily use the controls of the Wii U to make an entire mod if you had the directory access and were able to run compile binaries.
You realize the Wii has keyboard support, right? :v:
You realize the PS3 uses USB standard for everything right?
I'm not trying to start a flamewar, I'm pointing out the Wii U isn't the first one to be able to support keyboards.
Everyone keeps asking if its possible, and it entirely is. The real question is would Valve actually do it.

Well, as long as the money's good, I don't see why they would turn down this opportunity.

Look how long it took them to put it on the PS3 and that was light chat support when just playing Portal 2.
I sincerely doubt they'd put on the Wii U especially since beyond FP and maybe a good number of other players, a majority either didn't touch the Wii or are dropped it after getting bored with it.
[editline]7th July 2011[/editline]
I'm not trying to be a downer or anything but Wii U's market would then compete with Steam and I doubt Nintendo would allow that.
