To Protect His Son suffering from Leukemia, A Father Asks School To Bar Unvaccinated Children

My point is that these parents, in addition to having really awful critical thinking skills and backwards ideas about disease and immunology, don't understand or appreciate autism, either, considering it a crippling disability worse than death.
Those are parents who should not be allowed to care for autistic children regardless of how or why the condition developed. I know a number of people on the autism spectrum and many live fulfilling and normal lives and don't even outwardly seem autistic unless you've spent the time around them and had the opportunity to observe their particular quirks. Those people were raised by parents who embraced their children and helped them to develop strategies to interface with the world.
But that P&T clip is more or less mandatory for anti-vaxxer story threads.
Anti vax (scum, for lack of a better word) are so ingrained in their own little reality that they can't be dislodged and see that they are hurting people.
I find it absolutely disgusting.
damn, i'm all for mandatory vaccination, but i'm far from the mentality that anti-vaccinators = murderers which is the feeling i get from these posts.
it's like drunk driving: people do it because they thought it was a good idea at the time for whatever reason, not with the intention to kill people. this is not to disagree that either can potentially kill people.
anyways, I think it's a good idea for schools to ban unvaccinated children. it allows anti vaccinators to affect only themselves and not others.
So basically everyone has freewill to vaccinate, but if they don't they should be outcasts? That's biblical grade bullshit.
We've been over this argument before and you were destroyed at every turn before.
Just stop man, anti vaccers are harming a group of people due to their own retard beliefs and inaction, if they want their kids dead fine whatever but they don't get to fucking play dice with other folks lives.

You still arrest a drunk driver when they hit a pedestrian mate, exact same ting should happen with any case if anti-vaccers. If someone with a compromised immune system ends up contracting a simple virus like the flu that has a vaccine available there should be an investigation into where they caught it, and if it is traced back to an anti vaccer they should be sued into the ground.

arrested, sure. sued, sure. just not as a first degree murderer, which is what i'm getting at.
if an anti-vaccinator got me sick, i'd definitely sue, just not for trying to kill me. I mean yeah they try tried to kill me, just not intentionally, that would be different.

Yeah that's why you arrest them and charge them with negligent homicide, that's what the charge was built for.

potential murderers then
potential murderers then
yeah, I guess so, sounds a bit more reasonable I suppose.
potential murderers then
Oh good, charging people with a crime they may not actually commit, genius.
Just fucking charge them with negligence and take them to court of they don't get their kid vaccinated and if it turns out that people die due to their negligence then you charge them with negligent homicide.
Wow that so tough, man I should be a fucking lawmaker somewhere, might be able to push some Megadaves out the way.
The government should have no say in medical background.
I've honestly just seen idiocy being brought to the next level here.

If you are a vaccinated adult and get infected with
you won't have to worry because it will go away
Ohhhh why did you have to share that list because I only have a few of those that means i have ot get more vaccs and needles are goddamn terrifying
Vaccine should be mandatory but just bar the kids from school, like the law already states, tighten religious restrictions so that it requires a form from an actual religion
Ohhhh why did you have to share that list because I only have a few of those that means i have ot get more vaccs and needles are goddamn terrifying
You know when they told you as a kid that you'll get used to needles as an adult? I never believed them but it's kind of true.
Vaccines are nothing, tiny little needle in a not-very-sensitive part of your body. Drawing blood is what freaks me out.
I don't vaccinate myself because my immune system isn't a piece of shit. Children are different, their immunes aren't quite good, so they need this shit.
You are a perfect representation as to why anti-vaxxers are wrong about vaccines causing autism.
You haven't been vaccinated and you're clearly fucking retarded.
Is there any negatives to getting vaccinated? Because I don't understand not getting vaccinated if there are none.
Very rarely someone has a reaction to the vaccine that is unintended. For example, I had a negative reaction to the chickenpox vaccine and I ended up getting the chicken pox as a result. Granted I was also a premature baby, so really, my immune system probably wasn't fully developed at that point to handle the vaccine. (this was the early 90's so the understanding and research on premature birth wasn't all here yet. I was actually part of a case study on premature birth. Neat shit.)After that it has been smooth sailing. Even if vaccines were 100% going to kill 1 out of 1000 babies, they would still be better than not vaccinating. I can say that as someone who would have ended up in that .10%, I would rather I die from a vaccination than others die because I didn't get one.

Donate plasma once or twice, the fear goes away. Plus, at least in the U.S., you get paid for donating blood plasma.
I didn't get a chicken pox vaccine and surprise, when I was 13, I got chicken pox. I was vaccinated for everything else, but not the pox, and still got it. It knocked me on my ass and I failed a class because I couldn't recover from the missed material. Yeah, I failed a class in middle school because of a goddamn illness.
Get vaccinated, it's not worth it.

I get blood drawn every 6 months to monitor kidney disease and it still freaks me the fuck out. I'm a really tough stick so if the lab shafts me and gives me some happy-go-lucky intern I just know it's going to be 3 or 4 stabs until they find anything. I absolutely cannot watch and have been told I look like I'm about to faint (on a few occasions I was close to it). Yet my parents want me to be a doctor...
Here why don't you actually educate yourself @Megadave you're being an idiot.

I got narcolepsy and catalepsy from the vaccine against H1N1, in the future i will never again vaccinate against a harmless flu. For the record i just recently received my insurance money from the government which was only 50 000 sek, rest of the money i will see in about 10 years and that is only 700 000 sek. Thanks Reindfelt
I didn't get vacc for h1n1, caught it sometime later and spent a week p fucked up but it wasn't the worst thing I've experienced
As a person who has never had a Flu vaccination in their life, and has never gotten the Flu to this day, even I think this is stupid.
There are no downsides to vaccinations unless you have a massive fear of needles. Even then, you can get some vaccinations through your fucking nose.
Anti-vaccers are infuriating. These are the same people that invest money in tarot card readings.
Tarot Card readings were a big business, too. You know that Miss Cleo commercial that ran constantly? Those people made over 20 million a month for several years. And the funny part is the Miss Cleo actress got like $1700 bucks for it
Personally, Flu vaccinations aren't really that important unless you're an old person I think. Just look at this year, they practically aren't even working. I've never had a flu vaccination, either, and I've had it just once in my life. Was basically just a cold times 5, for me. But for shit like measles? They should be mandatory for schools
I don't understand the thought behind the Anti-Vac people. What's the harm in getting it for something that it has clearly eradicated

Well if you have the same proteins in some of your braincells as the virus you end up like me with narcolepsy and catalepsy. The government should have compensated me with suicide kit instead of money

They fucked up the vaccine this year, predicted the wrong strain. It's basically worthless.
I got it for the first time in 6 or 7 years, and this is also the only year I've had the flu for as long as I can remember. That shit knocked me out for two days, the only reason I wasn't hospitalized was because I was too sore and fucked up to get out of bed and reach my phone. After that, though, it's just a cold.
Flu vaccine isn't exactly vital, but $10 for a shot at missing that is fine by me.
So basically everyone has freewill to vaccinate, but if they don't they should be outcasts? That's biblical grade bullshit.
Well its more that they are morons and are putting other people in danger of being infected.
really the thing about an immune system is that the less you get sick... the less healthy it is
vaccinations make you sick with a weaker version of the disease, making you immune system stronger against it
the more you get minorly sick with something that passes in a short timespan, the better your immune system gets. Your body will know how to fend off that specific disease more.
obviously though if you get sick with some minor thing and it really fucks you up that's a bad sign.
but there is no way you can actually say that your immune system is healthy unless you're vaccinated against many things. ESPECIALLY diseases that were cured a long, long time ago.

I seriously dont know why our government just doesnt step in and require children to get vaccinated in the public school system.
too bad lyme's disease vaccine got pulled because of anti-vaxxers despite there being no scientific evidence it had any adverse effect at all
Really? Then fuck you anti-vaxxers. My dad JUST got lyme's disease from last summer by a damn tick. My mom tells me that there is no way to cure him of it, but I think I understand why now. Can lyme disease really kill? My dad is honestly not the fittest of people, but he's been through a lot.

Reminder: just because you had a weird reaction to certain vaccinations doesn't make it a normal occurence. You are currently dependend on herd immunity, you should be all for mandatory vaccination.

Now wait for someone to show up and claim they have a super immune system because they ate dirt as a child and never got sick.
