And that makes it okay? There was a time when "whites only" was an acceptable term.
The problem isn't the phrase "whites only." The problem is the meaning behind that statement: that all inferior people aren't allowed based on their race. The term "black vote" makes no such assumptions. It's just a name that refers to an easily identifiable group.
And that makes it okay? There was a time when "whites only" was an acceptable term.
I never said it was okay, but that's what it is identified by.
Every time i hear black vote I cringe. It shouldnt be a thing and sounds racist.
Unfortunately a massive segment of black people are part of a community with a hiarchy that needs to be given its dues.
And that makes it okay? There was a time when "whites only" was an acceptable term.
Are you also offended by "the elderly vote?" "The youth vote?" "Men and women voters?" We're just talking about voting demographics here, which don't have any derogatory meanings attached to them.
Is it just the black vote that's a thing? Is there a white vote, asian vote, middle eastern vote? Or is it literally just that black vote that's a thing [editline]6th March 2016[/editline] Lmao yeah because that's not how racism started or anything.
what do you expect when it's been shown that (people of X race) generally vote in the same way? Do you expect people to not try to strategize based on that?
Cruz is currently gaining on Trump in Louisiana
Registered on the deadline for my closed primaries in Louisiana. Voted 2 hours ago, Bernie was in quotation marks and near the bottom of the list, with Hilary at the top. Closed primaries are pretty shitty though, unnecessary restrictions. My dad didn't register as any party so he wasn't able to vote Trump. I had a few independent friends that didn't realize they couldn't vote for Bernie which is kind of ironic as they were the types to preach about how bad our current voting system is. Only was aware of a few of the other candidates that all preceded Bernie, didn't know they were still in the race.
Unfortunately a massive segment of black people are part of a community with a hiarchy that needs to be given its dues.
The people who have the most to gain by supporting Bernie, vote for the candidate who will cause them to lose the most. American Education has done it again.
Clinton has still netted nearly 20 more delegates.
Someone rationalize this or tell why this is possible. Ted Cruz isn't a naturally born citizen of the US, he was born in Canada, lived in Canada, and his bc is Canadian. Tell me how he can be president.Because AFAIK if you're not born in the US or it's soverign soil you cannot be President.
His mother was a U.S citizen so he is a natural born citizen born abroad.
So in short every Republican voting for him are currently the biggest hypocrite because when they believed Obama was from Kenya they didn't recognize that he mother was a US citizen?
So in short every Republican voting for him are currently the biggest hypocrite because when they believed Obama was from Kenya they didn't recognize that he mother was a US citizen?
Pretty much, yeah.
So in short every Republican voting for him are currently the biggest hypocrite because when they believed Obama was from Kenya they didn't recognize that he mother was a US citizen?
There's only a key core of Republicans that peddle that birther bullshit and even fewer of them are elected officials. Though, Trump has been a huge supporter of the birther movement, oddly enough he's not attacking Cruz for it.
You mean that thing they've done with almost every hillary won state so far? I'm not sure. When I asked that question I remember a response somewhere along the lines of "It is obvious they won, they just want to get that out before the detailed statistics".
Exit polling. You poll people exiting the precincts immediately on who they voted for, at random, and you use the sample of answers you obtain to predict the results before even a single vote has been officially counted by the party. It's a smaller sample size and there's not quite as many tools as can be used in other forms of polling, but it's a pretty good way of measuring the results, at least in case where it isn't neck and neck.
Trump is having his speech on FOX, and he is a lot more relaxed then usual.
Trump is having his speech on FOX, and he is a lot more relaxed then usual.
I think I found it. Substitute immigrants for Jedi, and Republican Party for Republic
So in short every Republican voting for him are currently the biggest hypocrite because when they believed Obama was from Kenya they didn't recognize that he mother was a US citizen?
Holy shit his mother was white, I didn't know that. And his father has nothing to do with USA, it was all a lie, he has no black American blood.
I love Rubio, he's a great candidate and I think a genuine person, but he's falling behind too quickly. Our only chance at defeating Trump is for Rubio to drop out and endorse Ted Cruz. Cruz has a good chance, especially with his good performance tonight, to overtake Trump by taking the entirety of the moderate vote.
Is this a joke?
[T]http://i.imgur.com/25W7oWi.png[/T] Sanders is closing the delegate count gap. [editline]6th March 2016[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/CzoQ6Mu.png[/t]
So is Cruz, ugh.
what do you expect when it's been shown that (people of X race) generally vote in the same way? Do you expect people to not try to strategize based on that?
Well, it's not "people of X race", it's explicitly minorities that in most of the Western world mostly vote for liberal or generally leftist parties. Conservatives are usually "the establishment's" party and mostly likes to benefit rich people and businessmen, which historically also haven't been minorities. In the particular case of the US, the Republican's social policies have never resonated well with minorities, so it's always been a party overwhelmingly conformed by white voters, and as a result, an overwhelming majority of black voters, vote Democrat. The term itself isn't inherently racist but the cause of these trends has of course plenty to do with discrimination and segregation.
Maybe we should ask Mitt Romney to publicly condemn Cruz in addition to Trump.
It feels so strange to root for Trump to not get stumped, but I gotta root for it with the threat of Ted Cruz being the nomination. Trump feels like a way lesser evil than Cruz to me.
It feels so strange to root for Trump to not get stumped, but I gotta root for it with the threat of Ted Cruz being the nomination. Trump feels like a way lesser evil than Cruz to me.
Trump is better than the embodiment of the religious right.
It feels so strange to root for Trump to not get stumped, but I gotta root for it with the threat of Ted Cruz being the nomination. Trump feels like a way lesser evil than Cruz to me.
Cruz is probably going to be significantly less electable than Trump. Most Trump voters seem to hate the guy and some of them would probably even be dissuaded from voting altogether if Trump lost, similar to what's happening with Bernie voters. Furthermore Cruz primarily represents the Tea Party, which already lost a lot of momentum over the past 4 years and is now getting cannibalized by Trump. You're not wrong about him being worse, though.
Maybe we should ask Mitt Romney to publicly condemn Cruz in addition to Trump.
It would put him on the same level as Trump, meaning that Romney's speech would've been for naught. I don't think that Romney can condemn two of the most popular candidates and get away with it.
I love Rubio, he's a great candidate and I think a genuine person, but he's falling behind too quickly. Marco Rubio's entire personality could be stored on a floppy disk and Ted Cruz with his religious zealotry and booger eating is about as appealing to moderate voters as the Zika virus. Donald Trump is the result of all the years of the GOP neglecting and marginalizing a large section of their voter base. You burn the coal, you pay the toll.
