Trump got wrecked in Puerto Rico, Rubio got 75% of the popular vote compared to Trump's 13.8%.
well rubio was the only person who actually bothered campaigning here and trump doesn't really have fans here because people see him as a racist white dude who is gonna ruin the US (and by extension us). at the end of the day i don't see rubio winning but rather have those delegates not go to trumpster
the democratic primaries are in june iirc and i expect Hilary to absolutely dominate, i don't see bernie getting even 20 percent here , so thats 50 plus delegates for her (though i don't think it's going to matter by then
Bernie absolutely crushed the debate. He tripped over the gun manufacturing issue, and the crowd didn't like that he voted against the auto industry bailout, but he recovered.
Plus he got her to basically admit that she is okay with boeing receiving shittons of public money.
he was talking in the context of a ghetto, he talks about white poverty all the time
"When you're white you don't know what it's like to be living in a ghetto. You don't know what it's like to be poor. You don't know what it's like to be hassled when you walk down the street or you get dragged out of a car."
Yea no, you can replace it with a comma or period it doesn't change what he said, he made two different statements. What he said was complete bullshit.
Man, I was so pumped to vote for Bernie on Tuesday, but I just found out that I never registered to vote way back when I got my license. Best thing to do now is to vote for not-trump in november, I suppose.
Of course, with what was said at the start of the thread (that michigan is heavily leaning hilary due to the larger black vote), I guess I shouldn't feel to bad about the situation. (Not that those also living in michigan in this thread shouldn't vote for him, of course)

Michigan voter here, I'm ready to go vote for Trump on Tuesday. Clinton basically has the democrat vote here, last I saw she's polling at 57% and Bernie is at 40%.

Well that's unfortunate.
At least, the fact that you're voting for Trump is.
Well that's unfortunate.

I'm not the only one, Trump is at like 44%. After that it's just Cruz at like ~20%.
I'm not the only one, Trump is at like 44%. After that it's just Cruz at like ~20%.
That makes it ok then.
I'm not the only one, Trump is at like 44%. After that it's just Cruz at like ~20%.
I know you're not, and that's terrifying.
Of course, with that avatar of yours, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
That makes it ok then.
I will vote for him regardless of his numbers in the polls.

I'm not terrified of people voting for someone who has different opinions, why are you?

You could go canvas for Bernie's campaign if you still want to participate in getting him the Primary nomination.
You could go canvas for Bernie's campaign if you still want to participate in getting him the Primary nomination.
If it means going around telling people to vote for bernie, my social anxiety will have to politely decline. :v:
I'm not terrified of people voting for someone who has different opinions, why are you?
My problem is with Trump himself- he's a lying, twofaced, prejudiced man that I can't believe has the greatest chance of the nomination. He's Hilary but even worse, if you ask me, which is why in November I will chose her instead of voting for Trump or a third party.
When it goes beyond mere opinion and into policy implementation, and when that opinion is largely based in reactionary demagoguery as opposed to fact, it's entirely reasonable to be afraid of it. People can have different opinions, but that doesn't meant that their mode of reasoning and how they got to that opinion might be flawed, fraudulent, or flat out stupid.
Someone like Trump has shown time and again that he's neither capable nor deserving to be the President of the United States. The means by which he reaches the conclusions that he does is anything but based in fact. It's not exactly a mystery then that he has such a broad base of support - it's readily apparent that the folks who keep voting for him, like Trump himself, expend an astoundingly low amount of energy actually thinking.

When your candidate's rallies can be easily mistaken for a neo-Nazi rally at first glance, I think it's fairly acceptable to be worried about them and their ideas.

At least we expend energy to get registered to vote and actually do it.

"Everyone who likes me raise your hand! Okay now I want you guys to take an oath to no matter what vote for me in november"
He didn't ask them to hitler salute him. Repeating that he did or that they hitler saluted him for some reason is silly as fuck.
So to talk about the debate CNN is bringing on a Hilary supporter and a Trump supporter.
What?

Considering his campaign is heavily based on scapegoating anger towards minorities, particularly Muslims and Mexicans, what with his ban all Muslims and build a wall deal. As well as the fact that it took him multiple days to denounce the fact that the former KKK grand wizard of all people was publicly supporting him, addition to asking his supporters to personally vow to support him no matter what, the comparisons are unfortunately ratter fitting, as much as you may want to desperately deny it.

Maybe we could talk about that. What did Bernie mean when he said ,"When you are white, you don’t know what it’s like to be living in a ghetto, you don’t know what it’s like to be poor"? A lot of his supporters are poor white college students, why would he go against them like this? He's also doing really poorly with blacks, why would he say only they know what it's like to live in ghettos? Is he always this bad in the debates? I haven't seen a democrat debate in awhile, and they mostly just wanted to break up big banks.

Still felt like a way more substantial debate than the republican counterpart. Last one I watched was just yelling over eachother and constant insults to eachother that didn't even have to be about policy.

They get great ratings if they ask questions that lead to that, specifically just questions like,"Candidate X said your shit, what do you think Candidate Y?". You can thank the awful moderation at most of the republican debates for that. But why does he think that only blacks know what it's like to live in a ghetto and whites don't know what it's like to be poor? Surely most people would strongly disagree with that.

This can't even be misconstrued into a Nazi thing so I don't know why you think it counts as a point.

Desperately deny it? Lol what?
I support Sanders but I just think employing godwins law to literally everything trump does ever is absolutely stupid.
He denounced and said he didn't want dukes endorsement as far back as August of last year.

To think all Candidate Y would have to say is "Look, let's focus on the issues we're facing as a country" rather than "Yeah, well, he has a tiny penis!"
Still felt like a way more substantial debate than the republican counterpart. Last one I watched was just yelling over eachother and constant insults to eachother that didn't even have to be about policy.
So it's permissible to disregard Sanders literally racist comment? Not the fake "Donald Trump hates Mexicans" racism. Genuine statements about white people that are offensive and wrong.

While Sander's comment was bad, it's hard to make it eclipse the sheer number of comments made by Trump like so.
While Sander's comment was bad, it's hard to make it eclipse the sheer number of comments made by Trump like so.
Even I'll admit Trump has said some disagreeable and over the top stuff, but he has never made a disparaging comment and judgment about a race of people.
Even I'll admit Trump has said some disagreeable and over the top stuff, but he has never made a disparaging comment and judgment about a race of people.
Well that's simply not true.
Well that's simply not true.
I will concede if you can find me a comment said by Trump that is comparable to what Sanders said. I'm talking a racist comment. A comment regarding illegals or Muslims is unacceptable.
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/703996959544250373?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Yes, he initially mentioned in a press conference half-heartedly that he, 'disavowed him,' and when interviewed about it extensively on State of the Union, proceeded to switch and refused to reject his endorsement of him.
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/02/28/468455028/trump-wont-condemn-kkk-says-he-knows-nothing-about-white-supremacists
It took until next week with all of the other Republicans freaking out and yelling at him to come out and denounce him again before he did anything. If a person's reaction to being supported by the former head of the most infamous white supremacy group in the country isn't anything that isn't, "Fuck no," then that person has absolutely no right being the leader of a country as diverse as the United States.
This can't even be misconstrued into a Nazi thing so I don't know why you think it counts as a point.
If you don't think asking crowds to personally vow to support your candidacy no matter what isn't creepy and cult of personality-like at all, then you need to look at things again. Elections are intended to be about the individual issues and beliefs. Even if most elections people side simply on party lines, it's healthier as at least a party is composed of multiple people making decisions on that group's policy and direction. Personally pledging to one individual person, regardless of what they do, goes beyond far beyond that and just promotes blind absolute loyalty to one man, and whatever radical decisions that he decides.
