Assuming they're anonymous death threats this isn't really news at all. Celebrities recieve them very often if they deal with controversial topics, mostly because sending anonymous death threats is so incredibly easy.
I'm sad to see such animosity towards us swedes from some finns because of the language being taught.
I can relate to this in a way. After Russian immigrant laborers flocked to my country in the 50s/60s and tipped the demographic balance greatly, along with general russification, Russian was being pushed hard as the universal language of the USSR. Today, the immigrants' children and grandchildren still live here, and there's really no problem with that (for the most part). The problem lies in the language barrier. Most (non-chav) Russians I've known were nice, and had already become fluent in Estonian due to a bilingual home environment. Estonians have known Russian for every generation since WW2 (excluding most of the latest generation, born in the newly re-established Republic) - we just have to when about 16 to 20 percent of the population are Russians. And for the most part, it all works out between the nice people. But then there are the idiot Russians who claim we're rightfully a subservient nation of their sleeping empire and demand we make Russian a secondary national language. These Russians deliberately or out of indifference refrain from learning Estonian and then admit their children to purely Russian schools, propagating the problem, thus failing to function adequately in our society, preferring to remain unilingual, expecting us to reach out to them instead. In short, it's complicated. No death threats to my knowledge though (plenty of threats of vengeful re-occupation once the Bear awakens). 2nd world problems.
Man, it's interesting to know that the jackass Russians I meet in Dota 2 perpetuate the same shit attitude in real life as they do in-game.
Självklart tycker hon om Pojkar, då skulle hon vara Leb annars då
Fråga din mamma kan hon slicka din fitta turbonerd. :v:
I had no idea Swedish was a obligatory language in Finland, that's fucked.
I've always found it pretty fucked that Finns are forced to learn a language which has less than 9 million native speakers. Got a friend who had pretty much had zero use for Swedish; "Jag är en bok" plus a couple of curse words about sums up his knowledge of the language. Spanish, on the other hand, has approximately 406 million native speakers; go figure.
There is no actual *real* hate in between scandinavians because people usually grow up and realise the jokes aren't such a big deal (ask your parents) [editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
I had no idea Swedish was a obligatory language in Finland, that's fucked.
I'd love to have obligatory finnish, I took a year of danish in gymnasiet because it's cool

I'm finnish and I can gladly say that I'd prefer to live in Sweden than here.
Excuse my French.
I never bothered to learn swedish other than to get a grade in school. I have never had any use for it, even when I went to stockholm english worked perfectly. Living 100km from the russian border and having lots of russian tourists over here all the time I'd rather know russian than svenska
I'm finnish and I can gladly say that I'd prefer to live in Sweden than here.
same here lol
this means tits on tv
jag ska titta på tv hela sommaren

Why learn any language when you can learn the glorious master-race language that is English.
Why learn any language when you can learn the glorious master-race language that is English.
Multilingualism is kind of cool, y'know. Oh and quite desirable out on the work market.
I had no idea Swedish was a obligatory language in Finland, that's fucked.
I disliked learning swedish because I never needed it anywhere else besides those mandatory lessons in school so my motivation to learn it was super bad and I learned it really badly and kept failing. English was the polar opposite. But I don't hate swedes or Sweden or anything. I would like to learn it so I could talk in a way that nobody around me understands. Everyone under the age of 40 speaks english here so that won't work.

Why the fuck are we even in EU up here? we've got nothing in common with the Frenchies (racists) or germans (POWER!!!!!)
