Wow... I wonder if it was because they didn't want to, or the price for having a conference at E3 was to high for a service they already have?
Nintendo sucks, crap console, yearly rehashes of the same old games, booooooring! Can someone just put them out of their misery now, thanks!
edit: i'm gonna enjoy the influx of dumbs. :downs:
You'd think the  would tell people you're being sarcastic. Then again, Facepunch.
As for the news... Shit, I was really hyped to hear really awkward speeches I don't give a shit about and only see one or two actual game trailers, one of which is probably explained horribly for 30 minutes.
I guess I'll have to scrape by with Nintendo Direct. Sighhh
I really like Nintendo Direct, its fun to watch.

E3 felt a bit out of place for them, Sony and MS use everything of the stage to show big ass HD explosion games but Nintendo is more softer.
In my opinion their E3 show was the best one last year. Microsoft and Sony sucked so hard.
But looking at it, Nintendo wasn't that good either. But they sucked the least on the last years E3.
Nintendo Direct is probably more entertaining than all of E3 is. I'm perfectly fine with this so as long as they keep doing ND.
Nintendo usually has the best E3 conferences as of late, but I understand why they're doing this. Nintendo direct is already like a mini E3 conference compressed into a relatively short video, that is a lot more entertaining for a wider audience.
They should still do E3 presentations to reach out to the general public, even if Nintendo Direct is amazing. And as much as I love Iwata, Bill, and Reggie, they should get some new faces in there to present the games as well.
rip in pieces nintendo
I found this tweet from E3Expo on Twitter incase anyone was wondering:
Hey, everyone! To avoid confusion, yes, Nintendo is still at E3 and we’re looking forward to their news and games. #E32013
Looks to me that they'll still show off games there (which means that Smash Bros. 4 will possibly still be there), it's just that they're not gonna have a huge conference. Maybe they're gonna have a Nintendo Direct podcast a day before E3 or something.

it's rumored they are showing off the new super smash, new Mario kart wii u, and new Mario 3d wii u game. So a good lineup of wii u titles. I imagine some stuff for the 3ds but their last Nintendo direct showed quite a few amazing titles so I would be surprised if there was even more
Makes sense. Nintendo already released 3ds and wii u. They got nothing serious to show where as Sony and Microsoft have new consoles.

Didn't Nintendo already have all their major announcements like a month ago or so?
I can see why they wouldn't really need to go then if that is the case

It's not just rumoured. Iwata said it by himself on a Nintendo Direct Video.
From a PR Nintendo Email:

As you’ve already seen, a lot of news about Nintendo games and services that traditionally would be held until E3 is being delivered this year through Nintendo Directs, and various press events. This approach will continue between now and E3. No matter where you are in the world, you’ll be fully informed. We look forward to continuing to provide you with Nintendo news and content in ways you haven’t before experienced. Beyond the news that will be communicated through Nintendo Direct videos in the run up to E3, at the show itself we’re hosting two smaller events on Tuesday morning before the LACC opens instead of just our traditional one event. A media event and a partner presentation will both occur that morning. While the audiences will be different between the two events, both will occur on the Tuesday morning of E3 (June 11) which is the date and time period the public has come to expect for Nintendo to deliver E3 news.
At the Nokia theater we’ll meet with business partners (retailers, publishers, analysts, etc.) from the NOA territory and discuss our plans for driving the business and providing tailored information that this group finds useful to their operations. Nintendo has done these same type of business meetings at past E3 shows, but has not in the past few years. This year we are returning to that business partner meeting format. New this year at our booth in the LACC, prior to the show opening, we’ll invite a small group of media to play our games. We will have a strong line-up of beloved franchise experiences available for immediate hands-on play. We are continuing to consider exciting new ways to bring the news of our games and information directly to the players at home during the E3 timeframe, and will have more to say about that at a later date.”
Looks like they are still going to do a Nintendo Conference, but do a Nintendo Direct at the same time as well.
