On one hand, there's certainly a lot of people who need to stop calling for anyone who says something they personally consider offensive to become permanent pariahs, but on the other, comedians get away with way more shit than anyone else as it is, and often the seemingly edgy and transgressive things they say are really just lazily pandering that gut part of people that gets angry at every day things before rationality kicks in.

Everyone should get away with saying harmless jokes, no matter how edgy and ~offensive~ they are
excuse me i have the words hateful, harm, edgy, and harm censored because they trigger my ptsd i got from cyberbulling please be considerate.
it's sad that they're people in this generation that actually believe they get "triggered" from pictures of grapefruits and words like "kill" or "shot" or something moronically dumb
like are these seriously real? Are the tumblrs like Squirrelygirl and shit for real? Do people actually believe they get triggered from words on a screen or pictures of firearms or something that they merely don't like? I can't tell what's real on the net anymore

It's just that some Tumblr users who don't really have PTSD are turning PTSD and the concept of a trigger into a joke because they use it purely as a shield to deflect criticism (this also largely applies to their use of the phrase "check your privilege" and the concept of cultural appropriation). They don't want anything interrupting their circlejerk/hugbox. When some Tumblr users say they're "triggered" what they really mean is "What you posted made me feel uncomfortable or hurt my feelings!" or even just simply "I don't like [insert thing here]". Because I doubt a person with actual PTSD who gets triggered at little things would be able to politely ask you to remove the words that legit trigger them and would avoid anything that could trigger them like the plague.
[QUOTE=zizzleplix;46685089]Well people who have legit PTSD can get triggered by seemingly minor things sometimes. It doesn't always take some major thing to trigger someone with legit PTSD.

As a Star Trek fan, I'm triggered by the word "threshold."
