Hada al7akika.
When asked how he wished to be buried, he left instructions to be thrown outside the city wall so wild animals could feast on his body.
When asked if he minded this, he said, "Not at all, as long as you provide me with a stick to chase the creatures away!"
When asked how he could use the stick since he would lack awareness, he replied "If I lack awareness, then why should I care what happens to me when I am dead?"

Too bad the article doesn't say what time period/architect it was. Usually they can make a good guess based just off of location/style.
Almost makes me wanna go back to studying Archaeology again.
One of them should have a "mysterious ring like large object"
that was a stargate reference
My crazy brain tells me some people might have known this huge area was there but didn't want to excavate it just yet because it could disprove something taken for granted in this day and age (ie christianity).
Here's to hoping they find something HUGE.
How the hell would a pyramid built thousands of years before Christ have anything to do with him?
Because it could prove that civilization has been around longer than what the bible suggests. Or it could contradict some of the history in the bible. Any of those things would make people question the validity of the religion and history they've been taught as fact I think. And again, that would only be if they found something revelatory like that, which I hope they do.
More pyramids?
Man.. I don't want to hear about those selfish fucks who built graves with thousands of slaves and buried themselves in there with loadsa gold :saddowns:
If I recall correctly, pretty much every worker that constructed the Great Pyramids and others were paid workers, not slaves. Besides, slavery has been (unfortunately) apart of different cultures and religions for countless millennia. Nations and civilizations were even built on slavery. Hell, some of your ancestors might've been slaves or had children with them, and you could say the same about mine or anyone else's. Sadly, that's just something you'll have to deal with. Aside from that, this is history, and history is priceless.

Don't forget Hinduism, as it's one of the oldest major religions around and even predates Christianity by millennia.

I was thinking that as I was typing, and if I recall correctly, Hindu scripture claims it's been around for tens of thousands of years if not hundreds of thousands. So it certainly predates christianity, much more so than a few centuries.
And here I thought there was little to nothing left to discover.
They still haven't discovered what really is in our oceans, or all the animals in the rain forests.

If scripture has taught us anything, it is that you shouldn't trust scripture.
Settlements in Egypt have been around since 6000 BC, and in 3100 BC Menes unified North and South Egypt. The Rigveda is the oldest collection of Indian sanskrit hymns and it dates to 1700 BC. It doesn't say it but my guess is that all the architecture found in the satellite scan are relatively new considering they were found along with burial chambers and tombs, something which the Egyptians didn't do till fairly late into their reign. Either way, it has been known that the Egyptians are waaay older than Christianity for a long time.
