• Santorum to sick kid: Don’t complain about $1 million drug costs
    96 replies, posted
“Look, I want your son and everybody to have the opportunity to stay alive on much-needed drugs,” Santorum insisted. “But the bottom line is, we have to give companies the incentive to make those drugs. And if they don’t have the incentive to make those drugs, your son won’t be alive and lots of other people in this country won’t be alive.”
The irony being that our current profit motivated system forces our hospitals to ration bare essentials, like IV nutrients, as they aren't profitable to produce anymore. People with major gastrointestinal problems are starving to death because they literally aren't worth keeping alive. However, we have a surplus of Viagra and Rogaine. So the system must be working.
Wow, what a stupid fucking dick. I mean, it takes a special kind of asshole to say this and mean it.
-facepalm- Oh god damnit, will someone just deport him already? Or prefferably kick his ass all the way to space?
I propose that NASA focus all their efforts in the near future on constructing a rocket to launch Rick Santorum into the sun. We will call it the "Suntorum project"
I propose that NASA focus all their efforts in the near future on constructing a rocket to launch Rick Santorum into the sun. We will call it the "Suntorum project"
Wouldn't that stink really bad?
Wouldn't that stink really bad?
In space no one can smell your stink.
In space no one can smell your stink.
Yeah, better than him stinking up America.
This man needs to be Santorum-bombed instead of glitter-bombed.
Wouldn't that stink really bad?
Nope, no atmosphere for the odor to travel through.
How is it even possible to believe this kind of shit I guess when you are rich your entire life money just means something different than it does for the rest of the fucking planet
Funny since my current homework assignment is to read this essay by Santorum. We have to then write an essay response if we agree with him or not. This is going to be fun. Here I am at school now: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/AEKzP.jpg[/thumb]
FP is unblocked at ur school? lucky...
deport this retard
FP is unblocked at ur school? lucky...
FP isn't blocked at mine. I don't think FP is really blocked in many schools at all really.
I'd assume in a bed. Maybe he even uses a pillow!
don't forget the stillborn
I'm not really sure what else he could have said that wouldn't have been a total negation of his Republican roots. Every candidate has at least someone who they'll harm in some way. When approached all it can serve to do is make it really awkward. Remember Joe the Plumber? As fake-as-fuck as he was, that's what I mean.
Rick makes a pretty good point really.
Drugs are bad and should be made illegal.
you'd think a christian would believe that helping those less fortunate than you is incentive enough
Total Douchedom achieved
Why doesn't america just make their own NHS already?
That's because a NHS system would be socialist, and Hitler was a socialist. Therefore, the U.S. would become Hitler. I don't want to be Hitler, guys! :tinfoil:
I'm hoping the kid has at least a couple of iPads. If not, I fail to see Santorums argument.
I'm hoping the kid has at least a couple of iPads. If not, I fail to see Santorums argument.
His argument is basically, "If you're not rich, then that's your problem."
I don't think we'd want our first contact with an alien species to happen via Santorum
Touche good sir.
What the hell, who buys 1100 iPads a year
I like the fact that, where I live, I can get fataly ill, receive free treatment and cheap meds. Why? I would say "compassion-from-our-government" but they're capitalist dictators as much as the US. Certain things are simply "human rights", including healthcare. Why? Would you want to live in a world where you have to pay for everything? Even the things that should be given to you, as a human. Oh wait, we already are.
I can understand charging for those services, doctors and shit need to get by too. It's just that the amount they charge is ridiculous, and alot of the reasoning behind it is because of all the loans they need to pay off (student, mostly) and the idea that because you're a doctor you need to make a great-big ass-load of money. [editline]3rd February 2012[/editline]
you'd think a christian would believe that helping those less fortunate than you is incentive enough
No empathy allowed in the Free Market.
It's like he is trying to sound as controversial and stupid as possible.
He wants Obama to win.
Which country is destroying itself? Fascist Republic of [sp]Yu Ess Aye[/sp]
You failed miserably and your avatar
Yes cause money is worth so much more than someone's life.
The Republican Mentality: "Fuck sick children, fuck the immigrants, and fuck the starving in Africa. Where's MY money? Where's MY economic stability? I couldn't give a fuck if people have it virtually thousands of times worse off than me, where's MY money?!"
Yea, let a kid die a horrible death because he thinks the fat cat drug producers need more money, great candidate imho
With that Santorum mindset, basic needs for humans such as food, water and oxygen can be abused against us by corporations because they can Actually, in today's times, this can't be far from the truth
