Well maybe it's a good thing that they turn on the West. The West seems to be a pile of shit at the moment.
Yeah, no. Attacking America is probably the worst thing they could do.
I think he means USA will somehow radicalise the rebels against them. People don't just spontaneously turn against something.
I dont even see a possiblity for "Peace " or stability in Syria now. When they get rid of Bashar the FSA will be splited into factions and they start killing eachother for control, but i hope i'm wrong.
How well is Assad currently doing against the rebels? I really have no clue how much control over Syria the government still has, last I heard the rebel groups were doing pretty well but that was quite a while ago.
As far as I know it's sort of a relatively status quo. The army is able to keep them from advancing with relatively common armoured patrols, but at the same time they don't seem to be utterly keen on pushing them back. Though that's partially because any warfare in cities is absolutely insane and Syrian cities tend to be multi storied ones, not unlike what you'd find in Europe. Which is even worse from the perspective of someone wishing to retake it. Essentially the thing is that Assad still has a pretty sizeable part of the population supporting him, the army is on his side as well and the kurds are sort of minding their own business up north.
The problem, as Ban Ki-moon has said many times, is that we did not intervene sooner. Three years ago, all the rebels were secular and asking the United States for aid. Now, there are a ton of fundamentalist rebels that hate us as much as they hate Assad. We waited as the country imploded, and now Syria is a modern day Somalia or Afghanistan.

I meant to say that Syria is becoming like Afghanistan, meaning a country that is not stable and that one large army will not be able to control effectively. You are right that, besides that, they are very different.
But somehow I think the radical Muslims are better supplied
Because no one will supply or help the moderate factions The Syrian rebels always had problems though, they never had a strong leadership like Libya's NTC
libya went well for everyone, I dont think syria will go well for any side though
This should jog your memory from a protest that caused no harm but for Bashar al-Assad told the army to cut his throat, You lot are disrespectful.
this isnt new. you can find videos all over of these FSA terrorists praising osama bin laden and reminiscing the 9/11 attacks. they tell everyone that "america is next" once they oust assad. i find it hilarious how many westerners support the rebels. ill reiterate this once again. Bashar Al-Assad is not stupid, which is why he hasn't given up and will never give up until he dies. its pretty obvious that these nations are backing these Al-Qaeda groups, and they're not even afraid to go on camera and say stuff like "THE CIA IS TRAINING US" etc etc etc. yet these guys hide behind civilians and blame assad when theyre the ones taking the bullets.
Considering some guy traced Syria's current weapons back to Western countries, the West supports Assad's current regime, which is why they haven't intervened to fight the rebels.
I'll side with the Stormcloaks on this one.
