The 36-year-old man was inside his Ford Focus when a gunshot struck him in the head in the 1300 block of East 74th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood at about 12:03 a.m., police said. The shooting may have been a drive-by, police said. Still conscious and able to talk, the man drove to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where he recounted his tale to police, said Officer Ronald Gaines, a police spokesman. The man's condition was stabilized before he was transferred to John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County, police said. Police were still gathering information in the case and had no other details. No arrests had been made and the motive remained unclear.
What a lucky badass.
what a leadhead
"Oh yeah i got a bullet in my head can you please remove it?" Then he went home and polished his balls of steel.
I kind of wanted to see where the bullet went in and stuff.
He needed to get to the hospital like he needed a hole in his head!
I heard of this too. happened sometime last August while me and my dad were at the Harold Washington Library. I believed it happened under the Chicago Stock Exchange, which wasn't far from the H.W. Library. Edit: why the boxes, that's seriously what I heard!
Looks like he had to gun it to the hospital :v:
I'm honestly surprised he was able to stay conscious long enough, and still capable of driving a car.
I would if he'd be charged with reckless driving if he got pulled over.
I'm honestly surprised he was able to stay conscious long enough, and still capable of driving a car.
Yeah he should have stopped by a burger joint on the way to hospital, i bet getting shot in the head is very exhausting.
Yeah he should have stopped by a burger joint on the way to hospital, i bet getting shot in the head is very exhausting.
I know it would've made me hungry.
Must have shot towards the hospital in a panic.
He had bullets on the mind.
He needed to get to the hospital like he needed a hole in his head!
.... sense... this makes none.
Why am I not surprised he was shot on the South Side?
I thought the title said "Man shot in back of head drives himself into hospital" as in he crashed. I am disappointed, still though crazy.
God, none of these replies are funny. I expected better, FP.
God, none of these replies are funny. I expected better, FP.
I guess you could say we blew our shot. Like the bullet, I hope this doesn't go over your head. [editline]5th September 2011[/editline] Okay that wasn't funny, but hey, puns are just as fine.
Why did I know this was going to be in Chicago from the title?
Why did I know this was going to be in Chicago from the title?
Cause South Side is one of the dangerous ghettos in America. Other than East LA, I would put it as the most dangerous. The place really is a deathtrap. A lot of drugs move through there, crack being a one of them. Not to mention the high concentration of violent gangs that run the operations.
This thread has worse puns then my local news
This guy is hard headed
He must have been sweating bullets.
What was going through his head?
Trotsky was denied entry into the U.S. and eventually found his way to a home in Mexico City. It was there that he was attacked by Ramon Mercader, an assassin working for Stalin. While Trotsky was home reading some shit, Mercader buried an ice axe into the back of his skull. This just pissed Trotsky off. He stood up from his desk, axe in head, and spit on Mercader. Then he went after the assassin, wrestling with him. Trotsky's bodyguards heard the commotion (where the fuck were they a few minutes ago?) and came running in to subdue the assassin and get Trotsky to the hospital. Trotsky made it to the hospital and underwent surgery before finally dying a day later from complications related to being brained with a goddamn ice axe. We're hoping he lived long enough to fire those bodyguards Read more: 7 Historical Figures Who Were Absurdly Hard To Kill | Cracked.com http://www.cracked.com/article_16822_7-historical-figures-who-were-absurdly-hard-to-kill.html#ixzz1X8Jj8Eyc

Local interviewer asks: "What was the last thing that went through your head at that time?"
Believe it or not 'headshots' don't always instantly kill. In WW1 the majority of injuries were to the head, because it was the greatest exposed. There was plentiful of anecdotal experiences of soldiers surviving for entire days with a significant portion of the head removed by a bullet or shrapnel.
How large was the bullet?
Looks like he got.... shot in the head. *YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
