Just because we're taller and are more intelligent doesn't mean we're more important, this is like stupid. Would you appreciate it if a bigger and more intelligent life form put you in a giant microwave? I doubt it, animals feel pain exactly as we humans do, and there's no word to describe how horrible was this kid, I wish I could put him the oven.
You're breaking my balls here, the astounding amount of idiocy in this post is...astounding. I can't take it [editline]07:53PM[/editline]
This kid needs to die. Sure, you may argue that it was just a hamster, and it's life isn't equal to a humans', but look at it this way: a person who can do something like this to a hamster would no doubt do the same to a human. Sociopaths like this need to be wiped out before they cause more suffering.
That kind of equating, Hamster to Human, is like saying that if I kill spiders I will then move on to kill...hamsters
You're breaking my balls here, the astounding amount of idiocy in this post is...astounding. I can't take it
He's from PETA
I'm not really sure how one can even argue that humans aren't worth more than EVERY type of animal.
What the fuck. It would be understandable if it was a little kid, but this guy's a TEENAGER
I think microwaves do heat from the inside out, they cook by making water particles vibrate to cause heat as far as I remember.
Microwaves can't even penetrate a perforated metal sheet, there's no chance they'd penetrate deeply enough into an object to cook it from the inside out.
Oh when a million cows are slaughtered its fine. When one itty bitty mouse is microwaved, everyone automatically becomes Peta.
fuck cows
If he was young like, 6-8, I'd understand, but 16? Future serial killer, he shows the sign
People who think it's not wrong to microwave a hamster, then yes, their life is worth less than a hamsters.
Their kidneys alone are worth more than a hamster
Hamsters are like two dollars, why couldn't he buy a new one?
For those who don't already know, microwaves accelerate molecules which causes them to heat up, when applied to a living creature, their body fluids will burn them alive, like stated previously.
Not really, microwaves only heat the outside. In fact microwaves have a higher wavelength then visible light. The reason why UV light and X-Ray light and lower wavelengths start fucking up with your DNA is because the wavelengths are so small that they pierce through your skin and DNA screwing things up in the process.
Article pisses me off. "Microwaves cook from the inside out" is an inaccurate statement and not entirely true. Microwaves are absorbed most where the highest concentration of liquid is. If the higher concentration of liquid is on the outer edges of what's being heated, or the concentration of liquid is fairly uniform throughout the object, it will cook from the outside in due to shorter wavelength. If the object being heated in the microwave has a higher concentration of liquid on the inside with a dryer outside, only then will it cook from the inside out, as the inside would absorb more microwaves and thus heat up faster than the outside.

It's 4am and there are 4 pages of people bitching I'm not going to read them all. :v:
This isn't tragic. It's a fuckin' hamster. The younger brother probably did something to make the 16 year old microwave it. Four months at a young offenders institute? Jesus christ.
This isn't tragic. It's a fuckin' hamster.
your point?
The younger brother probably did something to make the 16 year old microwave it.
yeah, let's retaliate by roasting a hamster in the microwave. don't you see anything wrong with that?
Four months at a young offenders institute? Jesus christ.
the kid obviously needs some help
Is it a law to Microwave a hamster?
I seriously despise people who torture or kill innocence animals like this. I will say you DON'T KILL PETS!
If a guy put his brother in a microwave everyone would be like "omg lololol sounds like he had a blast of a time hahahahaha" but when it's a fucking rodent everyone starts crying their eyes out. I asked for some compassion for those murdered in a mass shooting in Cumbria and I got the response "dude it's the internet no one cares for compassion" and yet in a thread about a hamster it seems way too serious a matter to make jokes about. Your morals are screwed.
It's very common for humans to feel more sympathy for animals than humans because we see animals as being innocent, just like a small child, even if the animal is dangerous and could kill you. This is the way people think and our morals are not screwed because this is how almost everyone is. At the same time, no one really cares much about the millions of animals we kill a year for us to eat, we are not being hypocritical, it's how we naturally feel about these things due to our instincts.
your point?
What good is a hamster for?
yeah, let's retaliate by roasting a hamster in the microwave. don't you see anything wrong with that?
Yes, microwaving the hamster was over-the-top, but the kid probably deserved it anyway.
the kid obviously needs some help
Four months? People have microwaved humans and got away with less... Plus, a YO institute isn't going to help this kid.
I don't get it, people feed snakes hamsters and mice all the time, but some kid put one in a microwave, the whole world freaks right the fuck out and sends him to an institution for four months? It's a fucking hamster, it would probably die soon anyways
I don't get it, people feed snakes hamsters and mice all the time, but some kid put one in a microwave, the whole world freaks right the fuck out and sends him to an institution for four months? If he would eat the hamster after microwaving it, that would be fine.
It's not humane, would you rather go to sleep and not feel yourself die, like they do for hamsters and mice, or be melted from the inside out for minutes.
I don't get it, people feed snakes hamsters and mice all the time, but some kid put one in a microwave, the whole world freaks right the fuck out and sends him to an institution for four months?
I wish I could put him the oven.
That totally makes you better than him

Sure it hurt, and the kid deserves the punishment he gets (to be rehabilitated, y'know), but if you were to microwave the kid, like some of you assholes have suggested...the pain he feels would be tremendous, and not even remotely comparable to what he did to the hamster.
I definitely think that people who microwave humans are put in jail for several years.
I think he's referring to the Nazis and Soviets.
This isn't tragic. It's a fuckin' hamster. The younger brother probably did something to make the 16 year old microwave it. Four months at a young offenders institute? Jesus christ.
It isn't tragic that some fuckwit put an animal, which likely had no correlation to whatever was pissing him off, into a microwave in some petty form of revenge? The animal didn't do anything to deserve this. The kid needs more time in an institute if his way of dealing with things is killing small animals.
I think he's referring to the Nazis and Soviets.
I don't think the Nazis had microwaves.
I think he's referring to the Nazis and Soviets.
It was war, so..it's different.
No it isn't tragic, do you really get very sad when a HAMSTER dies?
it is pretty appalling and yes, I would be very sad if someone put my pet hamster in a microwave.
