Wait, only 47% of people believe in evolution? What the hell?
i had a guy who believed in micro evolution, but said the fact that animals evolve is silly. yeah i dont know either.
I never can understand atheists who believe in ghosts. And I've run into quite a few.
ghosts are born out of paranoia and mystery, while religion is born out of something completely different, usually. I suppose some people are actually scared god will smite them or something if they don't believe but that is not the majority.
Wait, only 47% of people believe in evolution? What the hell?
Exactly
How the fuck do 26% believe in witches? Fucking witches? What is this, Halloween world?
Witches and Ghosts are pretty serious stuff. I wouldn't make fun of them if I were you, you might have already invited disaster upon your head. I'll make sure to consulate /x/ on how to ward off the bad luck you've brought.
I've always believed the people around me were dumb, but thought it was because I am arrogant. Seeing statistics telling me I am right is kinda depressing.
I never can understand atheists who believe in ghosts. And I've run into quite a few.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
Everyone panic, Gozer is coming.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
like what?
like what?
There's a floating one around about Tachyons.
I would honestly prefer the existence of ghosts over the existence of a heaven. Being able to watch over your future generations and possibly interact with them periodically would make death less of a concern really. Sullivan Ballou's Letter is pretty much self explanatory to why the existence of ghosts or "spirits" would far out weigh the concept of a heaven.

I still don't even know how that building works. It's like someone tried to autofill two abnormal edge loops.
Just because someone's a witch doesn't necessarily make them the traditional Halloween witch.
I didn't even know Wicca had witches- Speaking of, doesn't Wicca often tend to go hand-in-hand with ghost / demon stories? I swear it seems like more evil spirits are accidentally summoned by novice Wiccans than by Satanic cults.
Witches and Ghosts are pretty serious stuff. Very interesting mix, the conspiracy theorists are sometimes at odds with the rest of the crowd.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
Like intersecting dimensions :D
I still don't even know how that building works.
It's because god died and now he is haunting all those believers who failed him perfectly logical explanation
I've met some weird people that have SCOFFED at people for talking about God, but then in the NEXT SENTENCE talked about how their house is haunted. Scary shit.
I dont think you have any idea what youre talking about, because last time i checked, public highschool biology was required to teach evolution
At least in freshmen year biology, I don't remember the teacher going over anything too in depth, mainly that "I'm going to tell you this happens, but if your religions tells you otherwise, so be it." Mind you I also live in Salt Lake City (Mormon De Facto), Utah.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
Sciency SOUNDING, not any real backing that we have been able to find actually substantial evidence for.
I ain't afraid of no ghost.
I ain't afraid of no ghost.
Remember kids, if you see Jesus or God, call GhostBusters.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
Yea, like how human sensation/perception is more faulty than people realize, and way more likely the cause than dead human (always human spirits, never fucking trees or bugs) spirits playing tricks on people.
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory outside of religious ones.
Why am I getting dumbs? I've heard plenty, but did I ever say I believed them or that they had any validity? Jeez guys.
I would honestly prefer the existence of ghosts over the existence of a heaven.
I dunno about you, but I take solace in the idea of when I die I no longer exist. Eternity is awfully dull.
Why am I getting dumbs? I've heard plenty, but did I ever say I believed them or that they had any validity? Jeez guys.
No one believes in them until they've had an encounter with one
its kinda sad people dont believe in evolution
Ghosts have a scientific explanation/theory
Pseudo-scientific, perhaps. The people I've spoken to, and also read articles by/watched videos of that draws the "but it can be explained with science!!" card usually rambles on about quantum theory here and multiverse theory there, without having any form of understanding for what it is they're talking about. Drastically misunderstanding and abusing the word "Energy" also seems to be one of their hobbies.
I did read there is a reason why people suddenly feel cold inside a room and not, it might be related to a pipe leakage or something of that sort.
i'd hide in dryers and steal some of the socks while the machine was running.
I'd hide in the silverware drawer and slowly turn the knives and forks into spoons.
I dunno about you, but I take solace in the idea of when I die I no longer exist. Eternity is awfully dull.
no it's impossible to justify anything you do if that's actually the case. People that think that and are also suicidal seem like the kind of people who'd shoot up schools.
Think of how many living organisms have died in the history of the world... we should be constantly bumping into and tripping over invisible creatures And what about ghost germs? Could we catch ghost stds? Maybe Mary was impregnated by ghost sperm I think i've solved the bible Jesus is half ghost
Are you seriously telling me that less than half of Americans believe in evolution? Does that mean more than half are creationists? What the fuck.
Drastically misunderstanding and abusing the word "Energy" also seems to be one of their hobbies.
this, this, and this. Sometimes I feel like an asshole because so many people I care about misuse quantum theory and energy to explain anything they want, and because they have little or no scientific education you get this "free spirit" effect where the lack of "systematic education" means he has a free mind to break new ground, and trying to put across wht aI have learnt makes me out to just trying to outsmart everyone.
If I was a ghost, I'd constantly put people's socks inside-out.
Huh. So That's why my socks tend to be inside-out.
