Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea ended the series perfectly well, making it come full cirkle. Unless it's a new city, I really don't wanna see more of Bioshock, and really not something of Rapture/Columbia anymore, and I'm a huge fan of the eseries.
Fuck me we're getting a moon-city Bioshock aren't we we've done under the sea, we've done above the clouds, only abnormal place left is space. everythings on the fucking moon these days
i thought borderlands 2 and bioshock infinite were just great, so i would totally be down for some more stuff like that. also classic smurfy title. almost as great as the "obama invites unemployed man over for dinner" one.
i still dont see what people had against bioshock 2
Bioshock 2 is great. On the one hand, returning to Rapture isn't as special when you've been there before and you're no longer some weakling lost in the city. On the other, you've got a fucking drill on your arm.
I would love to see more Bioshock. Infinite was great, easily the best game of the trio, but Burial at Sea was really disappointing. The best part was the very beginning, where they finally gave a first person glimpse at life in Rapture before everything went to shit, which I thought was great. But the way they ended it just left a really bad taste in my mouth. But I know we probably won't be seeing a new Bioshock for a while considering the hate boner everyone has for Infinite for whatever reason, and I couldn't care less about another Borderlands or another Mafia game. [editline]20th May 2015[/editline] Really? Man, the ending blew me away. There were a few odd plot holes here and there but the way they handled the multiple universe stuff, and the depth they applied to all the characters had me glued to the screen throughout the entire game. I felt like they could have done a lot more with the game play, as it was kind of dumbed down from the previous titles, but they did a much better job of bringing the city of Columbia to life than Rapture ever did. And I'm so fucking glad they finally ditched the "follow the person on the radio" mechanic from the first two games.
I thought not only was the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff was much less interesting than the city and individual characters in it, but that it was done in a way that made the first half of the story feel pointless.
Underground would be possible too, but probably not as interesting as all the other settings.
I don't want a Bioshock version of Metro 2033.
New XCOM wouldnt be out of the question. The reboot was a success.
I really hope it's not some stupid Bioshock spin-off, it wouldn't be the same without the people from Irrational Games working on it.
Spec Ops: Vietnam.
Spec Ops: Vietnam.
So it'd be even more of a ripoff of Apocalypse Now than it already was?
I thought not only was the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff was much less interesting than the city and individual characters in it, but that it was done in a way that made the first half of the story feel pointless.
While I thought they could have explored the backstory of the city more, it still felt more like a complete story set in a living, breathing environment than either of the first two Bioshocks ever did. For instance, when the giant angel statue thing gets blown up near the beginning, and you see everyone's reaction to it, it was like their entire world was ending. There was nothing that could even compare to that in the first two Bioshock games where you just show up and everything's already gone to shit and you get to hear about all of it second-hand. They could have done all that without the multiverse stuff, but I feel like it added an air of mystery that kept me wanting to progress through the story more than either of the first two Bioshocks did. BS1&2 both felt like a tour through a politically themed amusement park, without much of a plot to really tie it all together beyond a really in-depth back story. In the first game I didn't give a shit about anyone because the game gave me little to no reason to give a shit about anyone. Andrew Ryan was the only character that felt complete besides Tenenbaum, and you end up having to kill him with a golf club for almost no reason, and Tenenbaum was nothing more than a few diary logs and a shadowy figure smoking a cigarette and walking in circles for the entirety of the game. I can't even remember the protagonist's name despite having just finished it for a second time a month ago, and the endings were completely and utterly forgettable. I haven't finished Bioshock 2 yet, though I'm almost done with it, but it kind of has the same problem. The game play is great, the setting is fascinating but the plot is almost non-existant. Pages of back story and lore don't make a strong plot, but what Bioshock Infinite did, that made a strong plot. I cared for the characters, even Booker whose face you never even get to see in the game, and when it finally all clicked at the very end just what all was going on, it felt complete. If they released a Bioshock game that had a plot on par with Infinite, but gameplay on par with Bioshock 2, it would easily be my game of the year.
Screw Mafia 3, gimme Hidden and Dangerous 3.
terror from the deep remake when [editline]21st May 2015[/editline]
I was pretty sad when
Oh ffs. You could've spoiler tagged that.
Oh so I'm not allowed to have an opinion but you are?
Why did you respond to that and not the massive well thought out wall of text Muggi gave you?
Mafia 3 in the mid-late 60's. Please 2K.
They better have a garage rock/protopunk station if it is set in the mid-late 60s or I will mod it in myself
Hello, we would like to announce that we will announce a game. Thank you.
This is common practice at Bioware Austin. For SWTOR at the Star Wars celebration they announced that they would have an announcement at E3 and even gave out wristbands with the E3 date on. I really really hate when game devs make an announcement about an announcement.
spec ops: the game
I'm really hoping its Mafia III. The best fun I had in II was walking around and pretending someone looked at me funny, then gangster pummeling their ass into an ignited trashcan.
So it'd be even more of a ripoff of Apocalypse Now than it already was?
I'd never say no to an Apocalypse Now-style game.
Thinking about it, an X-COM Terror from the Deep remake might be the logical way to go. For those that don't know, Terror from the Deep was the sequel to the original X-COM: UFO Defense game. Rather than defending earth from aliens in the skies and on the ground, most of the game took place underwater. You built underwater bases, used subs instead of flying vehicles, and fought off underwater aliens all across the ocean. That setting is basically perfect for a follow-up to Enemy Unknown. Remember how one of the biggest elements of Enemy Unknown was R&D? Well that wouldn't really work with a sequel. How can you have R&D when XCOM has already kitted itself with loads of alien tech? You'd end up starting out with the crazy-powerful endgame gear. But if you're underwater, all that gets thrown out the window. None of the weapons they designed were made to operate underwater, none of the armor has been designed to be useful in underwater conditions, and since they can't produce alien alloys or elerium on land, they can't manufacture new tech designed for underwater usage based around the alien designs. So that leaves XCOM only with what they can make out of earth tech, fighting in basically the creepiest, most alien environment on earth. They could really go for a much darker, creepier tone that XCOM Enemy Unknown with this premise, which I for one am all for. The new underwater aliens could have entirely new tech to research as well, possibly more biological in nature. I wouldn't mind a harpoon gun as well, maybe as tier 1 tech. They could even stick some MELD in there, just because of how malleable that is as a mechanic. Regardless of what enemies they actually choose, they can take any buff from them, and stick it on a soldier with gene mods. There are a lot of different environments underwater they could use for maps as well, with trenches, reefs, caves, kelp forests sunken ships, and terror missions on manned ships, submarines, or maybe even beaches and ports.
C'mooon Top Spin 5!

Besides, all that tech is contingent on lasting supplies of alien material - which will dry up soon with the [sp]Temple Ship[/sp] gone. I repeat what I said elsewhere on the subject:
I'm more hoping for an XCOM that takes it off earth, like fighting Lovecraftian aliens around Saturn or something. Like XCOM meets the Expanse novels. Edit: Like MEC Troopers bashing it out with Protomolecule critters. That would be awesome.
