600 million tonnes. That's 600,000,000 times 1000 = 6,000,000,000,000 litres. That's a lot of water.
Moon water. Bottle it and sell it on Earth.
That's a handsome label.
Awesome, pool party on the moon?
Awesome, pool party on the moon?
Water would splash so high... But, odds are there wouldn't be a swimming pool, water in space is too valuable to waste like that. Besides, fuck swimming, in a dome pressurized to 14.7 PSI, you would literally be able to strap on a pair of Da Vinci wings and fly around under your own flapping power.
Bet it tastes like cheese
"Don't drink that water !"
^ Definitely cheese
No it's like 5 billions years old.
Silly man, stop lying to these people. Everyone knows the oldest anything can be is 6000 years old.
Bet it tastes like cheese
Well, it is in an area where the Sun don't shine.
Nothing like an ice cold glass of moon water.
Now we HAVE to colonize the moon as a space base, we can convert the water into hydrogen fuel and make rockets launch a ton easier with 1/3 gravity of Earth...
Remember to watch out for portals to hell.
This is great news! Now we can harvest water from the moon and bring it back here :D
I don't think that's a good idea. I mean, can you imagine how many space flights must be made to transport a sizable amount of water back?
Remember to watch out for portals to hell.
That's Mars, man. Wait, no. The portal was in Phobos... [editline]08:49PM[/editline]
I don't think that's a good idea. I mean, can you imagine how many space flights must be made to transport a sizable amount of water back?
I suppose you could, I don't know, give the water a charge and use a mass driver/railgun to blast it towards Earth? Sure it would freeze on the way back, then vaporize in the atmosphere, but that vapour would become liquid water, no?
so is the water on earth. [editline]03:45PM[/editline] so is everything on earth for that matter
I'm 15. Fuck your logic.
So the slammed a satellites in mister Moon's face for no reason at all....
It was perfectly good science. [editline]08:17PM[/editline]
I don't think that's a good idea. I mean, can you imagine how many space flights must be made to transport a sizable amount of water back?
Or we can jsut pack in in a box, tow it and then dump the bag in the ocean.
It was perfectly good science. [editline]08:17PM[/editline] Or we can jsut pack in in a box, tow it and then dump the bag in the ocean.
That's a fuckton of bags. All of those would also have to be assembled on site, from materials mined and refined there.
Who's up for a swim?
Who's up for a swim?
"But, commander, it's ice!" "I don't care, fire the fusion laser!" Kzinti lesson for the win.
So this really means that the idea of a moon colony is realistic now? With a much larger budget of course. But really, we could actually have ice-harvesting robots to treck back and forth from the poles and a base, and sustain ourselves with growable crops for food. This is freakin incredible.
so... if we create an atmosphere around the moon... the moon would slowly heat up and... we can throw plant seeds on the ground and we can have a second earth...
so... if we create an atmosphere around the moon... the moon would slowly heat up and... we can throw plant seeds on the ground and we can have a second earth...
Another planet to fuck up woot.
so... if we create an atmosphere around the moon... the moon would slowly heat up and... we can throw plant seeds on the ground and we can have a second earth...
Moon's gravity can't support an athmosphere. It would radiate into space.
Now we HAVE to colonize the moon as a space base, we can convert the water into hydrogen fuel and make rockets launch a ton easier with 1/3 gravity of Earth...
1/6th. :science:
This is an amazing discovery. Who would have thought there was that much water on the moon. Now we can use the water to power rockets or maybe a space elevator (we can already make one for the moon, or for mars with their reduced gravity)
600 million tonnes. That's 600,000,000 times 1000 = 6,000,000,000,000 litres. That's a lot of water.
I don't think that's how the math works.
Moon's gravity can't support an athmosphere. It would radiate into space.
Build a dome around it.
ice mountain = best water in the world ok
I bet it tastes out of this world.
