oh. well. still.
They don't want to deal with problems that may happen because somebody has some iOS mod that may interfere with how Skype works.
I can't comprehend how Eidos thought that this would be a good idea. Nor can I understand why they'd make a phone exclusive Deus Ex game.
It's an adaptation of Icarus Effect, people who actually give a shit about the series will have read that anyway so missing out on the game isn't going to hurt you lore-wise. At least they picked something that can be experienced in another form for the multiplat title rather than a new story.
Ironic considering Deus Ex: HR is a game that revolves around making modifications and hacking.
Coming soon, 1984 the game with always online connection required.
You can actually click "OK" on the popup saying it won't work, and it works :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/MEiaMwF.png[/t] It never actually says it won't work, and doesn't attempt to limit your use if it does detect you're jailbroken. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] It just means if the app breaks because you installed a mod to your phone they have no obligation to fix it.
Who needs guns. WHEN YOU HAVE FISTS
I hope they don't pull that shit with rooted Android. Seriously how hard is it to check and see if the app was legally bought? A lot of Android apps and games do that.
Considering you can sideload cracked apps without even having root, I doubt it
Legit question. Is there any way for devs to find out if their iOS app was pirated besides using an online check or seeing if the device is jailbroken? Piracy with apps is a big problem because of how easy it is to do, and people easily justify it because "lmao phone game, who cares???"
honestly I'm not paying 1$ for some shitty "Exclusive adfree" game I'll never play but I'm too lazy to jailbreak soooo
Eidos, what a 180° turn. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] As if releasing it for iOS only wasn't bad enough
iOS was already a 180 you know...
I don't know if companies have statistics in their backrooms that show them proof that shit like this saves them money or what. Gets done too often for me to think they're THAT out of touch.
As if releasing it for iOS only wasn't bad enough
Android version is coming later. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline]
*Unless they pirated the game too
But who in their right mind would pirate a Deus Ex game?
Android version is coming later.
It's funny how they're so worried about piracy that they'll mess up the game for the small percentage of iOS users with jailbreaks but will release on Android where pretty much every device can install pirated apps out of the box.
How would they detect if the device is jailbroken? Wouldn't they have to look into the system files or something? It sounds like something against Apple's TOS...I don't know though.
How would they detect if the device is jailbroken? Wouldn't they have to look into the system files or something? i wasnt aware eidos were still around?
fucking monster idiot motherfuckers. so retarded. i wonder how much money apple gave them to do that
Anyone here have a solution for Android devices with root?
It isn't available for iPad 2, but it is available for iPad mini. I guess I have to wait for the Android version.
It isn't available for iPad 2, but it is available for iPad mini. I guess I have to wait for the Android version.
That's Stupid what about IPod Touch and how are is the gameplay
fucking monster idiot motherfuckers. so retarded. i wonder how much money apple gave them to do that
do you for real believe that apple pays people to deliberately make their apps inaccessible? the fuck. the obvious answer is that they wanted to combat piracy, but didn't do a good job
Luckily enough all you have to do is respring your iOS device then try again. I'm jailbroken and I bought this from the app store only to get this shit. Fuck off.
If I had an iOS device that'd be a dealbreaker. I don't even have any interest in jailbreaking, but the mere principle of the thing means they wouldn't see any of my money.
Anyone here have a solution for Android devices with root?
If you use super su you can just disable super user permission.
That's Stupid what about IPod Touch and how are is the gameplay
Only for iPod Touch 5. And I can't play it, none of my Apple devices can play it.
Can someone explain to someone who doesn't own an iPad what the term Jailbroken means?
Can someone explain to someone who doesn't own an iPad what the term Jailbroken means?
Removing restrictions of the software you can install. Normally software needs signing, Jailbreaking gets around that allowing for things Apple normally wouldn't let get published. You can also modify iOS a bit with it.
This is like sop and its gun id locking shit except even worse :tinfoil:

DRM of the year that was sarcasm
Why don't companies realize they can not control piracy? It's unfortunate, but unavoidable. Make decent products and treat customers like people and they might be more eager to pay (read; support your future projects).
