Central Europe and the Balkans are a fucking mess, there's no way I can remember all that.
Does anyone know where the fuck Lithuania is?
I can place every country in the world, but the last time I took a geography quiz I got 204/206 because I mixed up Lithuania and Latvia. :v:
you should all do this european states quiz it's fun for the whole family
140 out of 144, I accidentally mixed up Monaco and San Marino.
As a Pole I feel ashamed. But that's not surprising, really.
I tried that quiz. All them Eastern Buropean countries fuck me over. I should pay more attention when they have the maps on the Eurovision
the balkans always confused me. so many countries in such a small place :( geography was easier when yugoslavia was there.
Just so you know guys, since PLC Lithuanians hates Poles, so I would take this article with a grain of salt. Still, I'm not really surprised.
Yo, whats up with that small Russian-Prussian piece of land?
WTF?
Those guys sure as hell aint russian. How can they still be under russian rule?
my favourite one is that Croatia looks like a c.

East Prussia was separated from the rest of Germany after the Treaty of Versailles. This was a national embarrassment to Germany, and Poland's refusal to hand over Danzig to connect the two pieces of land was one of the proximate causes for WW2. Flash forward a few years, and the tsunami of German refugees pouring out of the region in front of the advancing Soviet rapetrain basically depopulated the area. Once the Russians arrived it was basically a ghost town. The south bits of East Prussia were handed over to Poland, IIRC because of historical claims. But Konigsberg had always been German, but since there were hardly any Germans there anymore the Russians just annexed it and called it a day, after forcibly expelling the remainder of the German stragglers. I think it was also a good strategic location.

The place is ethnically Russian nowadays.

143/144, I mixed up Montenegro and Kosovo.
Thanks to Empire: Total War I know where pretty much every city and country in Europe is to the point
I get weird looks when I answer obscure geography questions, but it's worth it.

Made it this far on the first run, mainly failed because of Africa.

It's helpful for knowing where all the german states are, but i dont know any of the balkan states because that's just ottoman empire territory to me

Play Austria in Victoria 2, your primary exports are bullets and freedom and the chief buyers are Ottoman faces and Balkan states respectively.
[sp]This is a bad joke because there is actually a large economy and factory system in Victoria 2 and you can actually export bullets[/sp]
I got a 142 though because Russian Kalingrad is a silly thing.

Also consider Europa Universalis III
id never even heard of victoria 2, but now ive googled it i must have it
everyone should have it.
i got 144 on the geography quiz because of victoria 2's modern nations mod
I got 118 on that nation's quiz, most of the time I know roughly where shit is, but in the Balkans particularly it turned into a guessing game. And I have to admit, I've never heard of that Russian Enclave in Europe, so that was a new one for me.
Ooohhhhhh so when they said 'Poles' they meant Poland / Polish people? I thought the article was referring to the Poles as in North and South pole... didn't make much sense, of course THOSE people wouldn't know where anything is they live in a giant freezer esky.
i have a friend who immigrated from lithuania
she still speaks lithuanian too, it's pretty cool to hear her speak it with her mom
Central Europe and the Balkans are a fucking mess, there's no way I can remember all that.
Germany, Austria, czech republic, poland and slovakia?
as to the Balkan though -I'll admit I know if a states belong among them, but which one it actually is? No way on a blind map. Apart from maybe Croatia.

Central Europe a mess? Aside from Italy, Central europe is doing pretty fine. And Italys problems are mostly in Southern Italy/Sicily.

How do you even
He meant it's a mess as in it's a mess of a bunch of little countries that nobody knows what they are
How do you even
I dunno, I just never tried getting better at it.

Well, considering poland and lithuania are bordering a god damn Russian exclave, I think its ok to be a little confused about the bordering countries.
Everytime I see a world map I see a country and think, holy fucking shit is that country really that big.
Every single time.
Amazing world.
In this case Belarus.
