Poles just have to hold up power cables and street lamps, and it's not like they're going be traveling anytime soon.
yugoslavia is a pretty bird [t]http://i.imgur.com/xNx9y9u.jpg[/t] [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] East Prussia was separated from the rest of Germany after the Treaty of Versailles. This was a national embarrassment to Germany, and Poland's refusal to hand over Danzig to connect the two pieces of land was one of the proximate causes for WW2. Flash forward a few years, and the tsunami of German refugees pouring out of the region in front of the advancing Soviet rapetrain basically depopulated the area. Once the Russians arrived it was basically a ghost town. The south bits of East Prussia were handed over to Poland, IIRC because of historical claims. But Konigsberg had always been German, but since there were hardly any Germans there anymore the Russians just annexed it and called it a day, after forcibly expelling the remainder of the German stragglers. I think it was also a good strategic location. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] The place is ethnically Russian nowadays.
Koningsberg was actually offered to Lithuania after ww2, but we refused, mostly out of not wanting more russians.
i mean the real question is where is latvia? (hiding behind the other country that they don't know where it is)
i mean the real question is where is latvia? (hiding behind the other country that they don't know where it is)
Between Lithuania and Estonia
Finally, a geography stupidity article that doesn't involve the US at all!
Germany, Austria, czech republic, poland and slovakia? as to the Balkan though -I'll admit I know if a states belong among them, but which one it actually is? No way on a blind map. Apart from maybe Croatia.
I'd really really read up on the breakup of Yugoslavia. I chose to do it for a school project and it's honestly one of the more fascinating wars I've looked into. It'll give you a great understanding of the Balkans, too. Milosevic is an important character to know about, and it's sad that so many people don't know what happened there only 20 years ago.
hehehe, im safe from poles they don't know where i live
I know only 2 Lithuanian people. One was a beggar and an asshole who took too much pride in doing very little, and the other is an emotional wreck. Sounds like the Lithuanian Bulk and Skull to me.
I'm part Polish and I can confirm I don't know where Lithuania is Maybe that's because I live in Canada :v:
Culturally, yes. But kings were mostly foreign, and country were ruled by nobility, most influential of them were Lithuanians ( for example, Radvilos).
Yeah, weren't the Vasas from Sweden or something? All I know is they had themselves painted in this really sharp black armour with gold trim.
Yeah, weren't the Vasas from Sweden or something? All I know is they had themselves painted in this really sharp black armour with gold trim.
Monarchs were elected by nobles, in return of more freedom for nobles. Btw, vasa managed to fuck up Usa of Europe so bad, that we never recovered. Thanks Sweden.
I don't even know where Poland is. :v Isn't it north of Germany or something
Heh they don't know where I am and yet I know most of the Polish map. Good luck, suckers V:v:V overpain, I'll be at the forest when the invasion begins. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] Trying that quiz thing. I think I have to give up on this, it's too hard :suicide:
I don't even know where Poland is. :v Isn't it north of Germany or something
North of Germany is Denmark. Known for legos. East of Germany is Poland. Known to be superior in plumbing abilities.
North of Germany is Denmark. Known for legos. East of Germany is Poland. Known to be superior in plumbing abilities.
Thanks! Now excuse me while I go forget this because I didn't commit it to memory [sp]:c[/sp]
hehehe, im safe from poles they don't know where i live
We do now, run while you can
Reminds me of when I moved to Cambodia. "Oh, I've heard of it, where is that?" "It's in Africa, right?"
Whenever someone learned that I'm Lithuanian, the first thing they wanted to know about me was where the fuck I even am on the map. So it's not really a big surprise for me.
Well, now I know where Slovenia is. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] Now try the quiz on Legendary Difficulty
I got two out of six questions then ragequit because I knew I was going to bomb that quiz I've never really had that much of an interest or a need to know where exactly everything is in Europe, ballparking things like "Oh, Croatia's European I think" was always good enough for my purposes.
I'm pretty sure half of poland is too drunk to even know where Poland is right now
I'm pretty sure half of poland is too drunk to even know where Poland is right now
This is possibly why sock & sandals combo even exists.
Europe is so easy to remember, especially if you play lots of games that involve maps, like Total War or Paradox Grand Strategy games. I got perfect on that geo quiz my first try.
