the definition of similar is : "having a resemblance in appearance, character, or quantity, without being identical.". which also means that samsung's designers have a hint of originality in them!
So your arguement for them having similar proportions is that they both have areas above and below the screen?
"Every tablet ever- the tablet that Apple tried to stop."
I challenge any of you to find a tablet previous to the iPad release that looked similar to it.
Samsung has the best marketing team ever.
I challenge any of you to find a tablet previous to the iPad release that looked similar to it.
Color this black and ignore the attachable keyboard:

And this is before smartphone operating systems became popular on tablets (which was indeed started on the iPad) By Apples logic their tablet should be banned, as this came out before the iPad, and it had -Rounded corners -A flat screen -Rectangular body -Touch screen and etc before the iPad did
I challenge any of you to find a tablet previous to the iPad release that looked similar to it.
Usually when Apple releases a "revolutionary" product, the design table starts to turn into the same similarities. It's happened to be like that forever. It's not that "omg u have blak border", it's just what consumers adapt to because it's the new fashion of tablets.

(with the phone sideways)
So they both feature someone playing a racing game in the most common way of playing a racing game? (with the phone sideways)
More like they both have a pair of hands holding their device sideways to play a racing game. Not an exact copy, but close enough. [sp]Like exiam's post[/sp]
I like how in the "similar proportions" the screen borders DON'T LINE UP.
Hence "similar" rather than "same"

My best wishes to Samsung, maybe they'll sell more than 10 Tabs this time!
When I read the title, I thought of a black and white picture of a group of Samsung employees wearing trollface-masks ._.
While it may be a great marketing idea, Apple will probably sue them for this.
:words:
Honestly, the argument is bullshit. The iPad and samsung tablets look similar because they're being designed to compete directly with each other. The icons argument is one of the worst ever, the size and shape of the phone/tablets? Seriously? they're even different aspect ratios and they have different heights and etc. Either way, this argument seems like a pretty dumb one to have.
While it may be a great marketing idea, Apple will probably sue them for this.
They would be in a spot of bother if they tried that

Thick frames rather than a thin rim around the front surface. Front surface that isn't entirely flat. Profiles that aren't thin.
Yes, they were telling Samsung they believe they can sue if Samsung (and by extension other competitors) don't follow these guidelines when making tablets, despite the fact that they're generic as hell (apparently they own the rectangular shape, along with rounded corners) No seriously, you're just stating dumb things now
correction: bill gates doesn't care
bill gates hasn't been with microsoft for almost 4 years now...

My Galaxy S2 is NOTHING like my iOS devices, not even close.
IMO the only thing that needs to get its head out of its ass is you with your ridiculous assertions. My Galaxy S2 is NOTHING like my iOS devices, not even close.
It has a touchscreen, camera, dual core, cell radios, processor, RAM, flash memory, and it has an app market. Clearly, it's completely imitating the iPhone 4s' design, especially the metal ring for an antenna and the glass back cover, and nonremovable battery. You should just quit while you're ahead, clearly Apple is the only company that makes smartphones for real men and Android is a second-rate copy of iOS. iOS 5 is another great example of this, Android does a crappy copy of it's notification bar, and widgets, and voice controls. Android should just disappear tomorrow. [editline]17th December 2011[/editline] :v:
IMO the only thing that needs to get its head out of its ass is you with your ridiculous assertions. My Galaxy S2 is NOTHING like my iOS devices, not even close.
Hardware-wise, yes it is a lot like an iOs device and there's nothing wrong with that Tons of companies make PCs but no one has done the bullshit Apple has done, claiming their competitors can't use a similar case design or hardware (in fact we have standards for hardware) What makes phones and tablets different is software, not hardware, as they, by their very nature, all feature the exact same things in their hardware iOS is shiny and easy to use for even the dumbest of the dumb and I guess it's fine for whoever might want everything they can do being controlled by Apple (and don't mention jailbreaking because the only reason Apple hasn't made jailbreaking illegal is because the US government stopped them from making it illegal in the US) Android isn't perfect and because it isn't forced to a specific device or as tightly controlled as iOS it has its own share of problems like the constant issue of device compatibility and malware but its completely customizable and Google doesn't have a single issue with you refusing what they give you and going with third parties.
Samsung is like that kid in high school that makes fun of a bully, nearly gets hit, but sucker punches back at the best time
They would be in a spot of bother if they tried that
You know I really don't get it how is a mac NOT a PC (Personal computer) You buy it and own everything on it, it's your personal computer. maybe if mac wasn't something you could buy and all the data was 100% apples, then it wouldn't be a PC, but that's impossibly and silly and not the case buying a mac to be "Different from the usual crowd" and to "Not have a PC" is retarded because you're still using a PC and no one likes poser faggots.
Pretty much everyone I know is completely dedicated to Apple hardware, they all have their macbooks, iphones, ipads and whatnot, taking great lengths to explain how it makes them different from the crowd and how it represents their individuality, despite the fact that everyone seems to own them. I can't help feeling rebellious with my windows pc and asus tablet
