It's stupid and ignorant to prove people's religions wrong, I say we put science to something actually useful instead of being able to say "I told you so!"
Let them believe whatever the hell they want, go invent a cure for cancer or some shit...
It doesn't work like that.. It's not stupid and ignorant to prove someone's wrong, especially when those people prevent technologic advances to happen.
Well it's good to see atleast one person REMAINS logical and Critical when it comes to religion, but unfortunately, this has been proven fake in the past
God bless this man.

I think less people would care if religion wasn't one of the main sources of the problems in the world.
The Catholic Church does not claim the Shroud is authentic nor that it is a matter of faith, but says it should be a powerful reminder of Christ's passion.
Fuck yeah atheists, lets fuck with that too.
The believers will still believe, the sceptics will still question, this evidence does not do much to shake the foundations

I disagree. The quicker we stop people believing in voodoo scare-tactic bullshit the quicker we move out the intelligence dark ages and the quicker humanity actually does something worthwhile.
Having a general, world wide higher scientific knowledge level would give us endless benefits. No warmongering morons like Bush in power, for example.
Jesus has nothing on Jebus though.
Because he can make a fake one, it means that any other must obviously be also fake. :downs:
I guess that the fact that some painter is able to paint Mona Lisa means that the present original from Da Vinci is also fake.
Haha, did anyone else get the Christian Lifestyle.com advert at bottom? :D
Another point for science

I cannot find any suitable argument to bring up now that you've fixed it so here's something irrelevant to the article

What the shit did I just watch?
It's not real. Big fucking surprise.
Speaking as a Christian, I completely agree. Cloth, except in very rare examples (Read - impossible back then) would not survive that long.
About time someone proved those phonies fake. :v:
I thought this was already proven?
I'm not uber religious or anything, but how the fuck does recreating something prove that what most believe is the original is fake? No comprendo.

No you don't understand.
It's already been proved fake, but they didn't understand how it had been done.
Now they do.
It's the final nail in the coffin.
Nothing new - I watched a video in R.E. about it last year, and how it was proven to be false

Sort of makes you wonder if the church knew all along whether or not this was a fake.
I'm pretty sure if it's several hundred years old, they didn't. If they made it recently however, fuck them.

The entrance test to the first level of hell.
It's a church conspiracy :Dawkins102:
A cloth wouldn't survive 2000 years
If it was preserved or well looked after, even then the loss of detail too hence why they keep them in darker rooms from the light. Also, it'd need people after people for 2000 years to look after it, there must have been a time nobody cared.

No, I did get the Church of Scientology though. O__O Creepy.
death to churches

If something fucking divine can be recreated, must not be divine.

If you can recreate a perfect "original" what's to say the "original" isn't fake?
Most Christians already knew this/don't care.
Take that religion.
Except the Catholic Church admitted it was probably fake years ago.
Poor man, wasted all this time.
I'm always glad when Science disproves things like this.
penn and teller already told us
Everyone who rated this dumb is ironic.
