Its against the law to show cigarettes in the storefront were I live now, all the cigarettes are kept in cabinets. I actually don't know anyone who smokes now.
Agreed, ironically, trying to the better thing for your ehalth and grow your own tobacco is illegal here :v:
My mate just ended up playing snap with them after he collected enough
Cry some more, you fucking faggots. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the tobacco companies. They know their products kill people, and for that, I wish every single one of them who knows that and still produces cigarettes an excruciatingly painful death in a fire.
I don't know what to say about this. I mean, I hate cigarettes but I'm of a mind that people should have a right to smoke regardless of how damaging it is.
I also don't think it's the government's responsibility to deter people from smoking. They should inform people about the harmful effects of smoking, but the decision should lie with the person.
Strongbad, you feel strongly about the issue, elaborate.
It's probably why your so fucked up.......
Kidding.
Anyway, Kee's got a good point, Plain packaging, graphic health warning do nothing at all to deter a smoker who's craving a fag. The only real way would be to stop dumping fucking toxic chemicals into the Cigarettes, Fag's aren't as harmful when it's pure tobacco, But the shit they add in *Shiver*. If i every become a smoker, i swear I'm growing my own shit.

Not sure about the U.S but here it's illegal to grow your own baccy because, guess what, they can't tax it. I've tried to get my hands on the proper seeds and it's actually harder to get than weed seeds. At least in melbourne.
By that logic, we should also burn all the Alcohol companies too.
And the people who sell fast food.
Fuck, let's go crazy and kill Car dealers, Supermarket owners and Gun store owners.

Don't blame the tobacco companies. Smokers understand the risk perfectly well and it's our fault for starting out in the first place.
I second hand smoke everyday. I stopped giving a shit when I was 12.
Cry some more, you fucking faggots. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the tobacco companies. They know their products kill people, and for that, I wish every single one of them who knows that and still produces cigarettes an excruciatingly painful death in a fire.
This isn't just about tobacco companies you tool. People who smoke don't want these on their packages either.
Some are trying to quit, this makes them feel horrible and doesn't help them at all to actually quit. You think they don't know its extremely unhealthy? They know. They are addicted, and no addiction medicine specialist on earth is going to tell you an image helps those people. If we could show people pictures of shit and get them to quit, there'd be no heroin addicts, there'd be no meth addicts, there'd be no cocaine addicts.
Well there fucking are.
Then, there's people who don't want to quit. Regardless of how you feel about their decision it's their life, it isn't your life and they don't appreciate some pseudo-intellectual asshole dictating how they live their life. You think a stern talking to and a picture is going to stop other people from doing other drugs? Why do the rules suddenly change when it comes to cigarette packs?
People here, most people here, know the war on drugs is a failure. Yet when it comes to the ability to centrally plan people's actions and a corporation is somehow involved, it's like a switch on their brain makes them forget how completely stupid these attempts by government are.
You want to help people? Go work/volunteer at a rehabilitation clinic, go invent the next anti-smoking aid so people who are addicts can quit. Hanging around forums acting intellectually superior isn't helping anyone.
I second hand smoke everyday. I stopped giving a shit when I was 12.
I dislike anyone who'll just light up near me, especially indoors, the smoke smells foul never mind any of the effects.
S0beit, You're a fucking legend.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Like I really couldn't, I'm sleep deprived :v:

Can't type
I am an smoker and I don't give shit about what they put on the box, I know what happens and the first smoke at morning is just so good.
Many of the people I knew since Elementary started to smoke during High School. And it ain't just weed. Every one of them would tell me "Don't fucking smoke". Kind of sucks how none of them have the nerve to ask for help but keep on relying off their older friends to get packs for them.
I don't smoke but it makes me laugh at all the people saying smokers should die in a fire.
Just fuck off and let people do what they want with there own bodys, if they want to smoke then fucking let them.
you can't not fuck up your lungs when you smoke anything.
why are you using double negatives

This, god damn.
EVERYBODY knows that cigarettes are awful for you, they already tell you that on the box at the moment. Putting pictures of the somewhat obvious consequences of smoking on packages is just retarded. Let them do what they want.
whoever smokes cigarrettes is retarded
shit doesnt do anything but fuck you (and potentially anyone around too) up
second hand smoke don't do shit. at least anyone non-smoker that i know doesn't give a shit if you smoke around them.
but you are right, smoking is just paying to worsen your health.
Let them smoke, it kills off the people who are stupid enough to do it. Therefore making the world a better place.
Strongbad, you feel strongly about the issue, elaborate.
My aunt smokes like a chimney. I'm worried about her health.
My friend's mother smokes like a chimney, and so does her mother, who recently died from it.
It's so addictive that people dying from it buy it to ease their pain. I Hate, with a capital H, tobacco.
Well maybe you should've thought about that before you made an industry entirely around selling people addictive toxins.
The problem with cigarettes is the same problem with alcohol, the industry was started way before we knew it was dangerous, theres no stopping it now.
Why don't coke bottles have pictures of heart attack victims and morbidly obese people?
i would buy bottles of coke for that
it would be great
second hand smoke don't do shit. at least anyone non-smoker that i know doesn't give a shit if you smoke around them.
I'm going to have to disagree with you here, shit smells awful and it's just plain rude to smoke in someone else's home, and common courtesy to ask if they mind you doing it most other times.
Cars should come with massive bumper stickers of car crash victims stuck on the back.
The only problem I have with smoking is the nasty smell.
And I don't like tobacco companies for their horribly unethical business.
But other than that, I don't care if anybody smokes.

lmao you think someone would smoke inside someone else's house, specifically someone's who doesn't smoke, without permission? also balconies
so not my point, which still stands by the way; p. much anyone that i know who doesn't smoke don't care if you smoke somewhere near them. you do apparently though.
and i'm not talking about blowing smoke to your face or keeping the burning cigarette right under your nose, because that would be plain dumb/unnecessary

I wouldn't have a problem with things like smoking if they weren't addictive. People always say we should let people do what they want with themselves yet once you're addicted it really stops being your choice.

If I'm talking to someone and they start smoking, their breath reeks of it , and for a while after it too, you don't need it blown directly in your face, one person smoking makes a whole room smell of stale smoke.
They want their ugly pictures to take up half the box? That's absurd they're taking up precious advertising space with their lame stuff.
