The creator of Basketball was Canadian you know
Nuh uh, Charlie Brown invented it in the 1700's.
Will this work once you've gotten it? I want to know incase I ever whore myself out before this vaccine is finalized. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline]
Still gotta watch out for HPV and Herpes though.
Herpes isn't all bad, except for the oral kind though.

haha a facepuncher whoring themselves out good joke
Best thing since maple syrup. <3
I can't wait till we get vaccines in pill form because fuck needles.
It said it was preventative, so I don't think it will help after you have it.
But they are testing it on HIV+ people.
Wow. Still a long way to go, but this is still great news. Hopefully the trials go well. also,
40 healthy people with HIV
hahaha
I can only see that HIV will change again and the vaccine will be useless. Also, this may sound bad but, illnesses like these are a regulator for population. Many people may disagree but I think that the world is either already overpopulated or is going to be very soon, since our population growth is exponential.
I'm making fun of America for not accomplishing it first... Of course America has done great things, just not quite near that in my opinion.
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars -internet -computers -telephones -nuclear bombs -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
damnit you guys, this is on the verge of an aids free world and you guys are blathering about which country has the largest e-peen.
Still gotta watch out for HPV and Herpes though.
Or the worst ailment of all: Pregnancy!
They'll protect the vaccine with a patent, thus getting a monopoly on it. Then they'll sell it for a ridiculously high price. This is how the medical industry operates in first world countries, so don't be too happy because the ones who will be able to afford the vaccine will not be the poor in Africa.
this had better go somewhere solid and not fucking disappear
Just because a promising headline disappears from the first page of Sensational Headlines doesn't mean it's forgotten and left to gather dust in some pit, you know
"Relax, we're just going to inject some dead HIV into you"
This isn't the US, wtf are you saying.
Canada is a part of WTO (World Trade Organization), and has ratified the TRIPS agreements, which grants the medical industry stronger protection of their patents.
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars -internet -computers -telephones -nuclear bombs -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
Those are pretty mundane things compared to what probably is the vaccine to one of the biggest, deadliest diseases around. Speaking of vaccines for the big league diseases, didn't someone make a vaccine for cancer or something and placed it in trial? What ever happened to that?
I've seen a few heritage moments in my time.
Oh god heritage moments We have to get to the river!
Yeah, whatever, like CANADIANS have done anything! Us Americans, YEAH, we have... uhh... MCDONALDS, and FORD MOToRS, and uhh, NIKE YEAH, what do you have to say to THEM APPLES, Canadia?!?!
We've cured Polio, and my dad is on the team testing the cure for Malaria.
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars Invented actually by Karl Friedrich Benz a German, if you want to get technical a Frenchman invented the first steam propelled car -internet -computers Konrad Zuse was a German engineer who invented the first programmable computer -telephones Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland, and later moved to Canada where he created many of his inventions including the telephone -nuclear bombs The Manhattan project, although a US Government funded project was mostly ran by German (Mostly former Nazi Physicists), British, and Canadian Physicists. -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
I'd rethink your list bro.
I'd rethink your list bro.
Also add the M1 Garand to things Canadians made. Both the design of the rifle and factory system used to build it were designed by John Garand, a Canadian. Yup, the "rifle that won the war" was Canadian lol
"Relax, we're just going to inject some dead HIV into you"
Isn't that what they inject into you everytime you get vaccinated?A fucking weaken and dead version of the virus into you
Isn't that what they inject into you everytime you get vaccinated?A fucking weaken and dead version of the virus into you
It is, but it would really suck to be the one unlucky bastard that just so happens to react differently to it.
I thought the reason why it is so difficult to make a vaccine against HIV was due to the fact the virus mutates very rapidly rendering the previous anti-bodies useless; what makes this different?
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars -internet -computers -telephones -nuclear bombs -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
Half those aren't American Inventions. Also on the Candian Side: Electric Wheelchair Insulin Electron Microscope Kerosene Plexiglass Pacemaker Standard Time Telephones (Alexander Graham Bell lived in Canada, not the US)
Half those aren't American Inventions. Also on the Candian Side: Electric Wheelchair Electron Microscope Pacemaker Telephones (Alexander Graham Bell lived in Canada, not the US)
One of these things is not like the other. also you forgot insulin treatment.
Pretty cool how quickly this degenerated into a Canada Versus United States argument. Hopefully this vaccine is both effective against many strains and also isn't shut down by pharma that makes their money off suffering.
Telephones (Alexander Graham Bell lived in Canada, not the US)
He was Scottish. He only moved to Canada when he was 21.
