He was Scottish. He only moved to Canada when he was 21.
Moved to Canada in 1870 Invented telephone in 1875
Moved to Canada in 1870 Invented telephone in 1875
You really think Canada deserves the credit? He studied here, likely did a lot of his research prior to the invention here. The finalisation and announcement of the telephone is all that likely happened in Canada.
we're going to have to steal their scientists now
Why are you arguing about who has created/invented the most out of all countries in the world? We are all people of Earth and a country's borders should not promote any argument. These inventions are made for the betterment of mankind.
Seems like the only people caring about it being invented in Canada are Americans. What.
I hope that one day they will make it in pill form. The Dr. Chil-Yong Kang Pill.
Isn't that what they inject into you everytime you get vaccinated?A fucking weaken and dead version of the virus into you
Depends on the vaccine. Some are dead virii or bacteria, others are varients neutered by means ranging from chemical treatment to genetic engineering. The killed vaccines are safer but less effective, IIRC. The live ones are somewhat more dangerous but in some cases open up new avenues for delivery (like oral) and are often more effective, again IIRC.
we're going to have to steal their scientists now
Just don't take our politicians, they may be far from perfect but at least they aren't scary as hell.
this is to the scale of when canadian scientist banting discovered insulin last century proud to be canadian
Kang said the vaccine, called SAV001, is the first preventative HIV vaccine approved for clinical trials to use a killed whole HIV-1 virus to activate the immune response in humans. The strategy has been used before to develop successful vaccines for influenza, polio, rabies and hepatitis A. Kang said these past successes for other viral diseases provide hope the Canadian-developed vaccine will work against HIV.
this is the only part that makes this noteworthy GJ ONTARIFAGS
You really think Canada deserves the credit? He studied here, likely did a lot of his research prior to the invention here. It doesn't matter where he devised it, because the device was MADE, which is what we are talking about, in Canada. He did the research in the UK, I congratulate him on that but he spent 5 years in Canada working on it, that's a long time.
does it mean i will survive?
Havent they invented the condom already?
Havent they invented the condom already?
yeah because condoms are 100% effective AND unprotected sex is the only way to get HIV smart post bro!
If I was a mod I d ban all of the canada/ us idiots in this thread. I hope it works out. And it's their right to patent it. They worked 10 years on it and it's THEIR work. Everything else is stealing.
yeah because condoms are 100% effective AND unprotected sex is the only way to get HIV smart post bro!
Don't make me poke you with this needle i found in the streets. Oh shit i just poked myself with it, good thing i had a condom. Everything will be fine now.
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars -internet -computers -telephones -nuclear bombs -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
the incredible irony is that an american national has never invented any of those things. and didn't anyone pass the "OUR COUNTRY DID..." stage through the age of 12? it's the individual, not the bloody country. its not like every one of canada's population had their own little hand in creating the hiv test vaccine

for the 100th time
Elisha Collier, inventor of the revolver was an American, though "we improved something Europeans made in the 1600s" isn't a very impressive claim.
revolvers haven't really done much anyway in terms of revolutionizing our every day lives im not sure ive ever actually seen a live revolver irl anyway
U.S =/ America america is a continent ffs
U.S =/ America america is a continent ffs
2 actually. When people say America it's generally assumed they mean the USA. If they say North America, or South America, or the Americas, they're talking about the continents.
2 actually. When people say America it's generally assumed they mean the USA. If they say North America, or South America, or the Americas, they're talking about the continents.
it still wrong and egocentric of 'em
Also add the M1 Garand to things Canadians made. Both the design of the rifle and factory system used to build it were designed by John Garand, a Canadian. Yup, the "rifle that won the war" was Canadian lol
Also "America's Sweetheart" Mary Pickford, yup, Canadian. And Bell also made the Bi-Plane, and the BlackBerry was invented by a Canadian if you really care about phones. This thread became an American - Canadian war because the yanks couldn't accept someone else in the world actually did something they couldn't do, and did it better.
U.S =/ America america is a continent ffs
I disagree Let's not associate Canada with "America" any more than it already is
so the following aren't as good as an HIV vaccine -cars -internet -computers -telephones -nuclear bombs -revolvers america hasn't done shit, canada wins because of one invention
this ain't a fucking dickwaving contest you twats
