Uh
They'll decrease as a larger muslim population will integrate more and you generally end up with less extremists.
This really confuses me. Why call yourself a muslim if you DONT care about being a muslim? Are you trying to use muslim as a synonym for person from middle eastern decent?
I imagine it would be for the same reason that many non-practicing Jews still refer to themselves as Jewish. It's as much a part of their cultural background as a religious preference.

I hope this will be the case, but clearly it is not. How do you know this for fact?

I'd ask you the same question.

Look at England.
I've been there, and the muslim population must be the most well integrated people in any western country I've ever been to.
This has nothing to do with Islam guuuys
Good to hear there weren't many casualties, shame the attackers escaped.

Basicaly you are apart of a mosque/church whatever but you dont practice the religion. It might not be common in the US but here for example, loads of Swedes are members of the Swedish church but dont even participate in church meetings.
Was outside when it happened and saw a bus normally used for public transport, filled with police officers flying by with other police cars escorted it with sirens. Never seen that before in Copenhagen.

The danish nationalists have gone batshit. Is it ok to loose a little faith in a unified people?
What's wrong with a nation unifying in a time like this? All of America pretty much united when 9/11 occurred. It's almost like natural human instinct to get closer to your people when something like this happens.
A man opened fire on police near his home apparently. The police answered the fire and killed the man, so it appears that they have taken out the ma behind the two attacks.
I have to give credit to the danish police. It seems like there were armed police officers present at every location he went to, and they were able to provide covering fire for the civilians. Otherwise he would just have been able simply execute civilians at will.

In my opinion it's a poor excuse for nationalism. This isn't "us" against "them". It's a few deranged individuals attacking freedom of speech in general, regardless of where they live
Nationality doesn't matter one bit to them, just as long as their religious feelings are respected above all else.
Freedom of speech is the most important human right, and fortunately quite a lot of people agree with that, so it would also take an event of astronomical proportions to change that, not small scale attacks like this.
EDIT
I somehow can't change the thread title. It should be "Five police officers shot and three civilians killed in terrorist attacks on freedom of speech in Copenhagen, Denmark. Suspect reportedly killed by gunfire 08.30." Can mods please change it?
Just to give people a quick overview of what has happened:
First, a guy with an automatic weapon fires into the building housing a conference about free speech. A 55-year-old man is shot and killed outside, while 3 police officers are wounded.
Suspect flees in a car that is later found.
Later in the night, the same suspect shoots a jewish man in the head, outside a synagoge. He also wounded another 2 police officers.
Because of the information that the police has gathered throughout the whole ordeal, they've been keeping an eye on an apartment in "Nørrebro", and when a man approaches this apartment and is spoken to, he opens fire but is shot dead by the police.
It is assumed this is the suspect who carried out the other attacks.
So there's been 3 shootings with 2 civillians killed and 5 police officers wounded, and one suspect killed.

And a source for good measure:

Agh shit, now this is going to happen everywhere.
Live like 500 metres from Nørrebro station (where the suspect was killed) and also like 500 metres from Mjølnerparken (where police raided an apartment this morning). Had a hard time sleeping with helicopters hovering over my area for many hours.

Why would it? Just because one deranged idiot attacked does not translate to several other people being inspired.

This attack is supposedly inspired by the attack on the publishers behind Charlie Hebdo.

Well, acts of terrorism isn't exactly a new phenomenon, it just seems like the groups planning and carrying out the actions have started to target individuals instead of just groups of random people. Perhaps they think it is better for their cause, since they can make examples of better known critics of their beliefs.
You know many muslims really dont care about their religion, just like many Swedish christians dont care about their religion.
Don't even try to compare, a majority of Sweden is either non religious or just simply on the border of belief, while not associating themselves with the bible or christian values, we just so happen to have christian churches as our place of belief, and it is also where we bury our beloved. A majority who support the church doesn't actually believe in christian values, and are either registered to it because they still want to support, or because they just haven't been arsed to leave it since you are pretty much in it by default.
It's not even comparable since a majority of us don't call ourselves Christians, and those who believe may simply just believe in a god, without much guidance (likely none) from the bible, but can find that reason enough to support the church.
There are tons of different reasons as to why people still support the church, but most of them are not because they think themselves as Christians, nor believe that the bible contains the word of god.

But that's because Christianity was the state religion until the year 2000 and you were automatically made a member of the church at birth. I'm still a member of the church because I'm a lazy bastard and haven't yet delivered the papers to leave.
Off-Topic: When I checked what year we stopped having Christianity as the state religion, I found out that our king is required to be a member of the Swedish Church (or equivalent Christian church) due to a law written in the 16th century. Brilliant.
