Was that the cop car they were beating the shit out of earlier?
Yeah.
man between this and tonights episode of RAW my twitter has been a real doozy
Oh God they started chanting "Tear gas!" and got tear gassed lol
Give the people what they want.
For all the talk about nothing would happen, this worse than I expected.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why is tear gas so ineffectual? I have seen these people getting tear gassed by the police and they are only moderately affected. Surely there is a more effective way to incapacitate the rioters?
surely you've never been teargassed? It burns your eyes, your throat, and your mouth. It's probably the most they can do short of beating or arresting protesters
St. Lois PD is using smoke canisters, not teargas. If you see any pictures of the leftover canisters they shouldn't be blue, if they're blue then they're teargas.
I think you're right, but they're still firing pyrotechnics at places there doesn't appear to be any reason to.
I love the "Season's Greetings" sign above the mass of Police.

Some people seemed pretty torn up from it. I'd wager that it's tear gas. Smoke canisters don't make you cough up your lungs long after you're exposed.
Note to rioters. Standing near a burning cop car and trying to instigate that the police lit it... not a great idea...
For all the talk about nothing would happen, this worse than I expected.
it seems bad but will still never come close to the L.A. Riots people are so keen to compare it to
I went through CS gas in basic training in a closed room, was rather fun.
It hurts really does incapacitate you from doing other stuff, makes you really care about, drop everything and figure out how to get out of this.
"It's about to explode" you've been playing too much GTA buddy

http://i.imgur.com/jYUoF6x.png - Used tear gas from earlier protests.
https://www.combinedsystems.com/products/?cid=48 - different canisters with markings and words indicating what they release.
Multiple accounts of people finding teargas canisters, not to mention he and a bunch of other people got gassed live. That's BS.
Maybe a criminal, but it was no reason to take his life.
or his own as for that matter, Darren Wilson will no doubt be the target of loads of violence. he's suffered some serious character assassination.
From what the reports say, Brown already had already assaulted and tried to steal an officer's gun in resisting arrest, and then effectively threatened/taunted Wilson while approaching after he'd been shot in the arm once before. At least, that's what I've heard, which may be inaccurate. When you've already been attacked and they're ignoring threats, the adrenaline in one's mind is pretty likely to shoot first and eliminate the threat from escalating further.
Discussing What Ifs is never a good case in this situation, however, because what's done is done.
Protests in LA and NYC are also getting big and violent apparently.
it seems bad but will still never come close to the L.A. Riots people are so keen to compare it to
The people who claimed "nothing will happen" were wrong however.
it seems bad but will still never come close to the L.A. Riots people are so keen to compare it to
I think it wont ever get as bad as the L.A. Riots because we have seen what happens when you don't properly gauge the people's reactions to something as small as this and respond properly.
or his own as for that matter, Darren Wilson will no doubt be the target of loads of violence. he's suffered some serious character assassination.
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
There weren't riots like this after that trial however. I mean, you were already using the Zimmerman/Trayvon case as the reference for this one, how nothing would happen with this because nothing happened there.
It's horrible that people are getting hurt and all, but I'm just sitting here watching CNN laughing over how unorganized this is.

this is not very small, if you haven't noticed
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
There was far less "outrage" over the Zimmerman case.
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
Yeah, but Zimmerman was kind of a paranoid asshole who had some rather nasty things about his life be revealed after the whole trial business was done there.
CNN: "
BREAKING: A large male wearing a cowboy hat has been spotted on a nearby hill firing several canisters of mustard gas into the Ferguson crowd. Police are investigating now."
???????????
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
hey, I didn't say he'd be killed, find him innocent or not he's got a ton of people who hate him now, especially if he continues to live in ferguson
also after Trayvon martin there weren't huge riots like this, this got a much bigger outrage
...said everyone about George Zimmerman, who is notably alive
I don't remember anyone saying this. I remember him receiving a bunch of death threats however that fortunately haven't come true.

I didnt see this
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why is tear gas so ineffectual? I have seen these people getting tear gassed by the police and they are only moderately affected. Surely there is a more effective way to incapacitate the rioters?
well thats because it is designed to disperse a crowd not "incapacitate" them
There weren't riots like this after that trial however.
riots aren't really used to target people, and plus he's being protected at an appropriate scale because of them
no one involved in the Rodney King beating was hurt in the L.A. Riots
/pol thread.Obviously, ignore absolutely everything that isn't the links.
Ignoring the obvious horrible shit /pol/ says, its pretty funny seeing them so amped up over something. Its like fucking christmas for those people.
