sorry i thought it was quite obvious what i was saying, the death of michael brown acted as a catalyst for years (or even decades) of indignation over the discrimination and abuses that black people in ferguson have received from the police
The fun thing is that nothing is going to fucking change. People will make all of the cutesie hashtags and calls to eat Wilson's still-beating heart they want; cops will still be giant assholes to black men. It takes serious effort to change a culture, especially one that's on-edge as cops are. A small "riot" and morons acting like it's the end of the world on Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook is not going to make this happen.
Chick on CNN just got nailed right in the head with a rock.
Anyone got a video for uh reasons
uh sorry but when the "catalyst" is something that the mob and rioters are horribly misinformed about it doesn't do much to further your cause or have it taken seriously
then again this is the group that thinks burning down the city will make the cops respect them so I dunno why I'd expect them to stop and think for five seconds.
maybe it's easier for you to be informed than it is for them? maybe it's harder to believe the official side of things when you feel like you and your people have been put down by the official side for all your history
I am hearing that stuff is going down, I would read the 25 pages (I read Page 1) but I am busy. So could someone sum it up from the start to present?
Tons of burning buildings, riots, looting, some in NYC as well, people killed, apparently shots fired.

Cop shot guy. Grand jury decided not to indict. People angry.

From what I can tell this is a good source of what is going on.
The reporters seem to be watching this page and just reading off of it. As soon as something pops up, they interrupt whoever's on the phone and read it practically verbatim.
The governor said the National Guard was on stand by not too long ago. They knew far in advance that this was going to happen. Why weren't they prepared. There's going to be some nasty political fallback because of this in a few days
Guess they were misinformed; the National Guard were nowhere near Ferguson and the police were somewhat under-prepared.

Dude just broke into a pawn shop and stole a crossbow on live TV. What in the world...
The crossbow bandit has been caught and arrested. What a moron.
It seems that you ignored my point that based on random protester interviews they seem to more focused on the "injustice" of the Michael Brown case. Every single one, bar one, stated it as the major reason for being out there.
I don't give half a shit what every individual at the protests are there for - the overarching reason that the protests started in the first place were because of a perceived (and very real) sense of discrimination by the local PD. People weren't only calling for Wilson to get jail time, they were calling for a review of the police force. The Justice Department didn't go to Ferguson to say "yep he's dead," they went there to investigate and review the actions of the Ferguson PD. Most people are only paying attention to the court case, because people love court cases and sensationalist TV drama, but the very blatantly obvious underlying reasons that this happened in the first place is because the black community in Ferguson felt that their police department didn't represent them and wasn't looking out for their best interests - Brown's death was the flame that lit decades of feeling held down and discriminated against.
This entire thing is faker than 9/11.

Listening to the police scanner, every other voice is reporting a fire or gunshots.

Body cams. Body cams. Seriously. The police work for us. Having interactions with them recorded will prevent all of this from happening because it will keep both parties honest. And not the ones the cop can turn off either.
That's the change we need here.
Again, no amount of percieved oppression and persecution legitimizes burning down buildings of people completely un involved and shooting at cops.
this is something that is very easy to say when you have faced no amount of oppression or persecution
This entire thing is faker than 9/11.
What part? The shooting? Ferguson? I'm pretty sure the city exists.

Are you personally going to pay for the infrastructure needed for that?
Are you personally going to pay for the infrastructure needed for that?
Yeah? I already "personally pay for" their uniforms, cars, guns, etc.

See, you say that, but based on what the protesters are ACTUALLY SAYING they seem to be angry about the Michael Brown case. You might feel that way, but I see no evidence that these protestors have some bigger picture in mind.

uh it doesn't matter how easy or hard it is to be informed (especially in an age where access to the internet is supremely easy for people of any class) or how unwilling you are to believe what "the maaaan" tells you, you damn well better know what the fuck you're doing something for when that something is burning down a city and causing a shit ton of grief for people who want nothing to do with you and your shitty causes and shooting at people who are just trying to keep the situation contained
really baffles me how people think this is anything like a legitimate response
lol
"I'm here and such and such with one in custody. *Heavy breathing* Please send EMS for a dog bite"
Angry Black Woman on stream yelling;
Military Tactics, put that shit to use. Let's put our minds together n shit!
Police are getting masks on in NYC? Police in Ferguson do not appear to be doing well. Lines have had to retreat twice, SWAT withdrew into a building, have not caught the people who were shooting earlier.
The general belief is that people riot when they feel that society has wronged them. It's just a shotgun of anger not directed at anything in particular.
Then again Vancouver burned after they lost a hockey game so who knows. Alcohol breaks sociology?
Vancouver would burn even if they did win a hockey game.

what kind of a stupid point is this? i guess if it happened in canada he would due to taxes? are we going to give up on efforts to ease all these racial tensions & the 'whodunnit' scenarios re: police shootings just to save money?
Are you personally going to pay for the infrastructure needed for that?
welp then i guess the police are going to do whatever they want for the rest of time because they can't afford cameras, despite having access to probably a lot more expensive shit like a bunch of guns and armored vehicles and tear gas and shit.
There are new fires every 5 minutes and the camera's only show the fires after their started. There's a woman in the center of the entire situation, and is only being hit with "rocks". I did not see any rocks, and then the guy somewhere else in the world where it appeared to be fucking day time said there are rocks flying across the screen. Ferguson is Trumanville it's all a show by the higher powers.
Are you personally going to pay for the infrastructure needed for that?
what are taxes

really baffles me how you're thinking anyone here is actually supporting looting and shooting people
Yeah? I already "personally pay for" their uniforms, cars, guns, etc.
Body cameras. For every single cop in the country. All recording wirelessly or to a storage device on the body? Stored for how long? Technical support provided? Training provided?
what kind of a stupid point is this? i guess if it happened in canada he would due to taxes? are we going to give up on efforts to ease all these racial tensions & the 'whodunnit' scenarios re: police shootings just to save money?
I am saying it would be cost prohibitive.

i support this as long as its the dorky go pro you have to tape to your head and the footage automatically adds the shitty drum and bass that every athlete puts over their go pro videos
Another gas station burned down. "Fully engulfed and no reason to respond."
