It's just an indictment. It's a decision on whether he'll face charges or not. Not a trial
The guy he shot just robbed a place, showing you the type of character he is, and all he did was tell the guy to get out of the middle of the street, from inside his car without the intention of even getting out, and the guy wanted to throw down. The fight started inside the car so what's that tell you. I'm glad it's being scrutinized as heavy as it is, but the rioting and unrest over a cop doing his job is ridiculous, certainly before the majority of facts came out
I got a new idea for a law... Make it a felony to riot in cities you are not from.
I'm pretty sure breaking and entering, trespassing, theft, burglary, assault, battery, and arson already cover that.

Yeahhh, well lets make it so "violence tourism" is also apart of that. Because clearly, retards have this inborn attitude to go burn shit in another person's town because, "FIGHT DA MAN" and they usually get off scot free for doing it because they run back to their hometown.
I just hope that the protests stay protests. If it gets violent it will solve nothing, and just further cement the idea that the supporters of Brown* are "nutty looters", and nobody will take the case seriously anymore, we'll just go back into a loop.
*(I wouldn't know what else to call the whole protest scene other than protest so I'm trying to give it a name)
Well we could give them a name that relates to the kids name?
Brownies? Brownians?
Maybe something else, actually.
Yes why didn't he just shoot him in the leg? :v:
Not sure if you're being serious or not but I felt compelled to explain why not either way.
In US laws, using a firearm of any kind regardless of intent is considered use of deadly force.
When you use a firearm in a defensive scenario to wound, not to kill, you're admitting that you thought deadly force wasn't necessary to resolve the situation, but because you used a gun you used deadly force.
It's the same reason every concealed weapons trainer, home defense course, and police academy trains you "Shoot to kill". Regardless of whether or not the target WAS a threat, it's much easier to defend the reasoning "I thought I was in danger for my life, I deemed deadly force necessary and used it to defend myself." than "I thought I was in danger for my life, I didn't think deadly force was necessary but I used it anyway."

this is one of the things I'm wary about, is the 'character assassination' someone mentioned earlier. I know even if that's all 100% factual at this point in time, there's been the question of what was known when the actions were taken, no? I thought initially they were just saying the victim charged him and got shot (sounds like a good reason for a cop to defend himself), but then they found out afterwards that he robbed a store or whatever and acted like that was justification for the shooting (which sounds like a stupid singular reason compared to "he charged at a cop"). Then there was all that speculation (autopsy evidence?) that there were gunshots wounds on his back, which would indicate he was trying to run away, etc.
since that point this has been like trying to watch a tennis match in fast-forward and I'm just waiting for the scoreboard to shed some light on what the fuck's going on anymore because a bunch of people keep stepping in front of the TV to tell me about all the close calls I can't see

I'd rather get shot in the gut than the leg imo, bigger chance of coming back from that :v:
I'd rather get shot in the gut than the leg imo, bigger chance of coming back from that :v:
Depends entirely on where it hits you.
If the shot to the leg misses your femoral artery and bones you'll recover just fine. If the shot to the gut somehow misses your intestines, stomach, kidneys, and liver you'll be just fine.
But if the shot to the gut hits any part of your intestines you're dead. Depending on the type of bullet used, even grazing or hydro-static shock from the bullet passing by the intestines can split or rupture them. It requires an extraordinary amount of surgery to fix intestinal gunshot wounds, and the amount of bacteria released into your body could kill you before you get to a doctor in some cases.
I personally feel that it's unjust to not take this to trial. I mean, he killed a kid. Race aside, if it were anybody else, there would be a trial, but because he's a cop it's alright. Regardless of Brown's background, a headshot at close range was not necessary from a professional who should know how to properly aim a firearm, and could have easily taken shots below the waist.
I just want to know why the majority of facepunch users seem to want to see Wilson not get indicted?
Ignoring the shooting part for obvious reasons, I wouldn't say he was a kid. Surely he wasn't a grown man, 18 is a pretty young age, but old enough to take responsibility for your actions. And just that is expected from anyone at that age.
I got a new idea for a law... Make it a felony to riot in cities you are not from.
Well rioting is already illegal so you'd probably win an award for the most redundant law in the world.
At this point I'd be boarding up my windows and buying canned foods to last me a week
We wall off Missouri, replace it with Puerto Rico so we don't have to change the flag. All works out.
Let the decent people out, I fucking hate this state.
The report on his injuries is pretty gruesome. A gunshot penetrated his eye, and his jaw.
At this point I'd be boarding up my windows and buying canned foods to last me a week
At this point? The press conference is in ten minutes.

That's honestly unnecessary for most of America. I live in Florida, not far from the city where the whole Zimmerman v Martin thing went down, and there weren't any riots here following the jury's verdict of innocent.
Granted somehow the Ferguson trial has attained more publicity, probably because "the shooter" was a White Cop and not a Latino Civilian, but I sincerely doubt this is going to reach nationwide rioting status.
This case was made a total shit show and overblown by the media and populace. May it rest in pepperoni as a fine example of what happens when reporters try to solve a case with no evidence nor information and instead use current situations and sensationalism as definitive answers to a problem. This could have been a simple case of whether or not a police officer made a mistake in shooting a child, but instead became a story of the reincarnation of Jesus being shot by the evil police forces that oppress everyone. The sole fact that the court hearing has to be kept hush hush and the final result has been prepared for so that innocent people can be protected is disgusting.
Just because some black kid got shot by a white man doesn't mean the government and police force is attempting to systematically oppress anyone. No one in this investigation is a criminal until proven guilty, which hasn't happened. The only criminals here are those who use this unfinished investigation as validation for rioting and violence.
Best of luck to anyone living there.
18 years old =/= child.
At this point? The press conference is in ten minutes.
"Hey Jenny, the winds have reached 50 mph. I'm gonna go to the store to get batteries and water, and close the shutters real quick before this hurricane hits..."
At this point? The press conference is in ten minutes.
So when do the tanks come?
Damn. I loved living in missouri. Springfield is a great city and it sucks to see the state suffer all this fucking dumb shit.
"Just in time for Black Friday!"
Those fucking comments, holy shit.
There won't be any more stock for Black Friday after the riots anyways, or any store to begin with.
Not really. Not when the leg is full of nice veins and arteries, and the police use JHP's to increase the odds of dropping someone. Wanting to get shot in the leg by a JHP is like saying "please, please let me be in horrible pain and instead of dying right away, please let me bleed to death over the next minute or so" It's not like cops carry tourniquets with them, and the only way you're going to stop an arterial bleed outside of an OR is a tourniquet.
They also use them because they have lower penetration, so it decreases the chance of them tearing through cars and walls to hit civilians.
Update: At 4:15 central time there will be a news conference where the decision will be read.
Following the reading, the Brown family is asking for 4.5 minutes of silence for the 4.5 minutes his body laid in the street.
like idc where you lie on this situation but forreal why is this funny?? Someone explain?? Imagine parents wanting to fucking honour their dead son :/
Also, it's 4.5 minutes for the 4.5 hours he lay on the street. He lay dead on the street for 4.5 hours.
Any update? It's 30 minutes past.
I feel sorry for the average joes living in Ferguson. It doesn't matter what the ruling is, there will be rioting in the streets again.
Hopefully the outcome won't be too bad..

I hope it gets too cold for them and they go home
