A Christian homosexual furry appears!
[QUOTE=PrismatexV0;16049194]Barney Frank was looking pretty promising.
Was.[/QUOTE]
Then again, if the democratic process could alleviate civil rights issues, there would BE no civil rights issue to begin with.
Most people in this country don't realize democracy is not the cornerstone of our system. The constitution is. The constitution trumps all democracy and public opinion. It is designed to protect the small from the large, and democracy is designed specifically to further empower the large while eliminating the small.

That's fine.
When they start paying their goddamned taxes.
Until then they are a burden on society whom we allow to exist. They have no independence so long as they rely on us, the masses, to operate.

My uncle is a Christian Reagan Republican anti gay marriage homosexual. We have some interesting conversations.

Way too not read the million posts highlighting the fact that THEY DON'T PAY TAXES. As far as I'm concerned, if they're not paying taxes, they're a public institution, and discrimination should not be allowed within them. It doesn't matter how much they don't like gays, a tax-exempt institution having gays arrested on their property for being gay and the government allowing it is government-condoned discrimination.

Add "Masochist" to the list.

Freedom of Speech does not necessarily mean freedom of action
Or better put, their two different things.
[QUOTE=Saxon;16049315]Freedom of Speech does not necessarily mean freedom of action[/QUOTE]
It does. So long as that action is within your rights it's fine.
Unless you are operating on The People's dime.
If you're a self-sufficient organization, good on you. Fuck gays kill the queers whatever, I don't fucking care what you say.
When you rely on the dime of atheists, homosexuals, jews and muslims to operate, you don't have a leg to stand on when you want to discriminate against them.
The same goes for every religious institution.
If you have the right to make an ass out of yourself then other people have the right to tell you to stop.
If a cop ask you to stop and you decide to continue to piss them off then they have the right to arrest you, because they are a COP.
If a cop asks you to do something reasonable like not making out in public because it can offend someone, then do it, don't protest it like you're not doing anything that could ever possibly upset anyone in UTAH.
:munch:
[QUOTE=Shawnald;16049497]If people ask you to stop and you decide to continue to piss them off then they have the right to arrest you.[/QUOTE]
Who taught you this.
I want to know so I can report them for teaching things that are absolutely, completely wrong.
[editline]12:39AM[/editline]
"You offended me" is not proper justification for arrest.
[editline]12:39AM[/editline]
You do not have legal authority to force anyone to stop doing anything.
[editline]12:39AM[/editline]
And the police do not have legal authority to arrest people who insult you.
[editline]12:40AM[/editline]
You are wrong.
[editline]12:40AM[/editline]
So wrong in fact that I am now going to take a shit. And that shit is going to be more correct on the subject of civil rights and free speech than you are right now.
[editline]12:40AM[/editline]
And that's pretty bad for you because shit can't even talk.
Oh wow lankist, you're so eager to prove people wrong.
Like anyone is ever going to look back on this during an argument and say "Actually you're wrong, you see I read this thing on a forum one time by a guy learning to become a lawyer".
I'm mormon. I think since it was owned property they can enforce whatever the hell they want on it. Would you let some guys kiss around in your front yard?

I'm not learning, I am.
And you are wrong.
You can belittle that all you want but you are very, very, very wrong. There's no two ways about it. You're as wrong as a pedophile at a playground on Christmas Morning.

I would if those guys were paying my taxes for me.

You think I'm lying?
If a couple of gay dudes paid my taxes for me I'd be sucking THEIR dicks.
[editline]12:49AM[/editline]
Clearly you have never filed taxes.
[editline]12:49AM[/editline]
Or been audited.
[editline]12:49AM[/editline]
If H&R Block accepted mouth hugs as payments they would get a lot more business.
All you're saying is "They shouldn't have done that because those people paid for their establishment". That is like saying if a guy gave you 4 dollars to help you rent a house and then shows up a year later and breaks all your shit trying to justify his actions saying "I helped pay for it so I can do whatever I want" and not expect you to lose your cool.
[QUOTE=TailsPrower;16049216]Freedom of speech works both ways you know. If gay people have the right to be open about their sexuality, others should have the right to close off their property to it.[/QUOTE]
Freedom of speech: the right to arrest fags for bein fags

Except the guy who's barging into your house paid for the house which you didn't pay anything for.
And he didn't break your shit, he just came in and swore at you.
No, I'm saying if I were to take money from millions of people via government mandate to pay for my house, they would all have a right to my house.
[editline]12:57AM[/editline]
That's why I pay for my own things.

If these were not exempt, that would mean a church would have to register as a small business and pay tax off the Tithe. First of all, taxing a house of God 100, 50, even 20 years ago would have enraged basically every Christian in the US. It's nothing short of an abomination. The Tithe is supposed to be God's money, used for God's house of worship, and only God's house. Sure, it doesn't always get used that way, but still. The Tithe is supposed to go to building the church up, feeding the needy and spreading God's word--showing the love of Christ, that is all. It's basically a charity fund, and you can't tax charity. Yeah yeah, tell me all about how it doesn't get used for that, corruption, blah blah. Doesn't change anything. Taxing the Tithe would infringe on people's religious rights.
Secondly, the mormons are not a public institution. They are a religious sect, and they have the rights to practice their religion. In their beliefs, what those two men did was an insult to God. They did it on church grounds, not public grounds, not privately owned grounds. Now, if they had just asked them to leave nicely, and the dudes left, no one's rights have been infringed. But the fact the guys stayed there, willingly slandering the beliefs and values of the Mormons, the church has the right to act lawfully. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can abuse and mock, desecrating their values to push "gay freedom." We have two groups of people who are fighting over "freedoms" when all they end up doing is taking away other people's.
If people do not like gays, they shouldn't be forced to. If people want holy grounds where gays are not allowed, they have the right. Just like I have the right to love whomever I want as hard and as passionately as I want without fear of conviction or slander. We are never going to have a completely homosexual-accepting society, just like we can ever fully get rid of racism.
Honestly people, why does it matter so much what religious people think or do with their property?
That's a terrible argument.
We shouldn't tax church because they don't want us to tax them.
I say taxing Lankist is an abomination against Lankist.
Do not tax me.
[QUOTE=Lankist;16049663]You're as wrong as a pedophile at a playground on Christmas Morning.[/QUOTE]
I just had to come back to this, last time I checked, public playgrounds come out of tax money, which means that a pedophile has much of a right to be there as a gay person does at a church, according to you.
Fact of the matter is, if you don't pay taxes you are owned by and accountable to the public.
[QUOTE=Shawnald;16050129]I just had to come back to this, last time I checked, public playgrounds come out of tax money, which means that a pedophile has much of a right to be there as a gay person does at a church, according to you.[/QUOTE]
Are you seriously defending pedophilia right after you bash gays?
[editline]01:12AM[/editline]
Let me rephrase that:
You are defending pedophilia.
Did I bash gays? When outright did I say that? And no lankist, it's you defending pedophilia, because according to you, his tax money went into that playground so he has the right to be there.
Then again pedophilia is a federal crime.
Homosexuality is not.
[editline]01:15AM[/editline]
You are defending pedophiles. What the fuck is wrong with you.
[editline]01:15AM[/editline]
That was rhetorical, I know what's wrong with you. You say shit without thinking.
Then again homosexuality is a sin against the church.
Fucking you pastor boy isn't.
I don't give fuck all about what the church thinks, I'm talking federal crimes, motherfucker.
Fucking a pastor boy is a federal crime you sick pedophile apologist.
[editline]01:16AM[/editline]
Seriously, do you have a mental condition that keeps you from thinking before you say stupid shit?
