good thing I gave up soda.
unless it's Mexican Pepsi, that's my weakness.
Mexican Coke is soooo good.

wait a minute... I meant Coca Cola.
Fuck, and to think I've been drinking shitloads of cups of tea with sugar in them before my exams.
The article says fructose. So, you know, unless you were using corn syrup, this study doesn't apply to you.
This also means that fruit in general makes you dumb. Apple juice, etc., which seems to have more fructose than soda. So I'm very skeptical of their results, because people have been drinking massive amounts of fructose long before they started announcing it on the labels.
I think it goes without saying, though, that excessive sugar consumption causes health issues, and that many people probably fall into the 'excessive' range, myself included. I just think the headline is a little alarmist.
Funny thing is that the next generation will say the exact same thing.
If we had Twitter and Facebook in the 60s and 70s, we would've seen the exact same things.
Honestly, the generations aren't getting worse.
Its more the fact the past generations feel we should be doing so much more but then they forget they're raping us at every corner.
Sucrose has also been proven to be mildly addictive, if I'm not right?
a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids can counteract this IQ loss
Good thing I fucking love eating fish.
Also don't be fooled by this, yes sugar is bad for you in excess (just like pretty much everything) but the human brain needs sugar to work.

"We're not talking about naturally occurring fructose in fruits, which also contain important antioxidants," Gomez-Pinilla said. "We're concerned about high-fructose corn syrup that is added to manufactured food products as a sweetener and preservative."
[editline]16th May 2012[/editline]
The title is a little bit misleading, this is only about high-fructose corn syrup, not sugar in general.
Well then it just seems like they have an axe to grind. That's basically "Fructose is an evil, bad thing that kills your brain, unless it's from fruit because fruit is OK because it's natural and everyone knows natural things are good D:<"
I am not really sure if the speed of a mouse traveling through a maze is a great indication of IQ or at least a great way to test for changes in IQ.
Fuck, and to think I've been drinking shitloads of cups of tea with sugar in them before my exams.
well it applies to HFCS, not regular sugar that you put in tea and shit.
Stupid people eats lots of sugar, more like.
worth it
worth it
you are a stoopid
I'm already fucking retarded, so it's kind of too late. Oh well.
you are a stoopid
Calling some one stupid when you cannot spell the word stupid correctly is just, wrong...
you are a stoopid
The significance of your intelligence it diminishes is probably so insignificant to give up such a vital and satisfying ingredient just for that factor (not talking about weight situations here) is not even worth it.

This sentence failed to parse.
Always down a red bull for my exams.
Correlation =/= Causation

well here's an interesting thought, eating sugar might increase your chance of having a lower iq (not necessarily a definable 'intelligence' but its something politicians like to wank over), but abstaining from sugar doesn't make you clever. some of the most brilliant minds on the planet have been overweight, this is just typical sensationalist correlation media
