It's really stupid people are getting mad over a MOVIE. Going so far as to threaten if they don't remove?
The movie isn't going to affect you in any way, if you don't like it, don't see it. People really need to stop trying to oppress creativity.
I really hope Sony does a 180 and releases it on demand or decides to show it in theaters.
I wouldn't worry about it getting unreleased. I doubt Sony is going to eat a ~$45 million loss. They may quietly release it at a later date when this calms down. But we'll see.
Oooo gotta cater to those NK's man, we don't want them getting upset. You don't see us getting upset over shit they watch. I bet they have all kinds of anti-US propaganda shows and shit.

It would probably be better to release the movie when it's still in the spotlight from an economics standpoint. More people would see it for a whole slew of reasons such as to hate on it, to enjoy it, etc.
People need to stop getting so angry though. Voicing your opinion about a movie, if you like or dislike it sure. It just annoys me that people go so far just because of a film.

Though, very very true, its pretty rare to see ANY form of media to come FROM North Korea because of their overly-restrictive publicity.
People seriously took this shit seriously? It's a fucking movie.
When's the movie going to get released, now?
WILL the movie get released?
Sony say they have no further release plans. But I hope there's something down the line.
So what would Sony and the major theaters do if another group threatens them if they DON'T release it?
Ubisoft may be having a bad year, but at least they didn't bow to the demands of a dictator whose family is responsible for an ever-growing list of crimes against humanity.
And yeah, I realize the dichotomy between Sony and Sony Pictures. Just saying.

I mean, it's stupid that they pulled the movie because North Koreans threatened them with violence. If there's anybody that shouldn't be taken seriously with threats of international violence, it's the North Koreans.
But, at the same time, damn that movie was in really bad taste. When I saw the trailer, it was 90% the two guys hanging out with Kim Jong Un and fucking around, having fun and living it up in some kind of billionaire playboy way and the last spoken line in the trailer was "Kim Jong Un's not that bad of a guy!" If you know the sort of horrific "rape and murder camps" shit that goes on in North Korea, you can see why that's really tacky.
Team America was funny since it portrayed Kim Jong-il as a fat, lonely loser and an object of ridicule. The Interview just seemed really tacky.
If Sony was smart, they'd release the movie on Amazon Instant Video/Google Play/iTunes in the next week with all the press. Sell it for $12.99 and they'll get tons of money.
How do we know this isn't all just a publicity stunt by Sony to get the Sheeple amped up and to buy their movie to protest "North Korea"
[sp] How do we even know there IS a North Korea? I've never seen it [/sp]

I hate to be in my own corner but lets turn the glass around. What if someone made a movie in which our current president got killed on american soil and it wasnt terribly done. Or if Sony did one on other leaders like Putin (Before the entire 2014 campaign). Or the Queen. Or anyone else for that matter; hell even your own parents. Wouldn't that make you outraged? I mean the hacking and threats are not okay that was just the bottom of the barrel to do but i believe anyone else would have complained and whined if it was their own leader (If we actually liked ours).
In Short: NK Had rights to bitch about its leader getting killed as we all would if it was ours. However the hacking and terrorist threats are not.
I really doubt if the movie was any good at all. ~50 million is a very small budget compared to most decent movies.
It is a pretty fucked up movie to make, but the response to it is just terrifyingly unnecessary.
My local cinema says they still plan on screening it.

Have you ever seen White House Down? It's a movie about North Korea attacking and destroying a lot of D.C. while killing tons of civilians. I know it was supposed to be a super serious action movie, and watching it like an action movie will drive you batty because the movie is shite.
However my buddy and I got stoned and watched it pretending it was a propaganda piece made by North Korea and oh boy, was that the funniest movie ever.
Was I offended by the fact North Korea kills innocent civilians in a movie? No, I save my sensibilities for things that actually make sense, like North Korea starving and killing their civilians in real life.
If North Korea's leader or any country's leader for that matter gets offended by a movie, by a work of fiction, then I would say that the leader, whether it be Obama, Kim, or Bakir Izetbegovic, needs to get their priorities straight.
In short, no, North Korea doesn't have a right to bitch. Furthermore, if they made a counter-movie staring the North Korean versions of Seth Rogen and James Franco killing Obama we wouldn't have a right to bitch either.
