See headline, imagine a bunch of old people sitting at a pachinko bar.
What? That's what I expect from hearing "Japanese" and "arcade" in the same sentence.
It's good that they are out there doing stuff you know. Better than rotting away in your house.
Now they're rotting away at the arcade :v:
My dad is 52, and he has about 300 hours on Skyrim, I don't even have half that.

I mean, I'd rather be playing games in the comfort of my own home than an arcade.

Playing games on your computer is fun, but I'd say theres nothing quite like walking through a huge colourful and noisy arcade.
A town near me on the seafront used to have loads of arcades 10-15 years ago, which were remnants of the boom of arcades a couple of decades ago. I used to love going there with friends, but they all got closed because business was dwindling :smith:
They must have spent a lot of money playing pachinkos and Daytona USA.
My grandmother is Fifty Eight and plays Simcity.
My mom is 43 and she plays Farmville.

fucking casuals
The gaming helps keep their brains more active and productive through the processing of data. It's actually only helping them now, not just a way to kill time. If old people sit at home day after day, they really do just waste away and become senile.
This makes me want to get my parents and grandma to start playing games.

EVENT: BRAINSTORMING MEETING AT FARMVILLE HQ
Farmville Dev 1:You know what would be a great idea? If we could turn the idea of a forward or chain-mail into a video game. Those things spread like wildfire.
Farmville Dev 2: Brilliant! We'll start right away! We will soon have all the lonely housewives and socially retarded tools eating out of the palm of our hand!
