I hate my state, so much. Illegal people can drive, but I can't modify my car much beyond factory legally? Awesome. This is the worst thing they could possibly do. They should be forcing them to obtain legal status before getting the benefits of being legal. AKA: A driver's license. I guess first that terrible wait period for being 'legal' needs to go away, but one step at a time.
id rather they at least have some knowledge of the rules of the road than just comming here, finding a truck and driving around without any understanding of the driving laws. they're not going to be deported anyway in the imminent future, if they spend cash in our economy on car-related products and vehicles, kudos
Even outside of nationalism and xenophobia, opening borders to everyone so they can become citizens merely by being on your soil is an administrative nightmare and will hilariously strain public services. And when I say hilarious I mean they'll be scrapped because they get abused like hell.
kinda like france's immigration problem, they had an open boarder for years, if you could come in from one of their former holdings in north africa, you were considered a french citizen, but it really screwed up their social services. now the main problem is the immigrants are treated like second-class citizens and they are clashing with the police and native french citizens
I guess first that terrible wait period for being 'legal' needs to go away, but one step at a time.
First step WOULD be ditching the lifelong waiting time and excruciating paperwork process. But since that's impossible, considering them as somewhat-citicens is the next best thing.

[editline]14th September 2013[/editline] they don't think foreigners are equal and deserve the same rights otherwise they would be for 100% open borders.

Insurance also insures the car and not the driver.
they shouldn't be illegal in the first place. a person shouldn't be considered a criminal for crossing some imaginary line
Look at that huge imaginary line
Look at that huge imaginary line
Oh look, a waste of money.
yeah mayne, we're all ~citizens of the world~
that's a pretty noble attitude you're mocking there
They do so, illegally. The point isn't a matter of allowing them to drive legally or have safer roads. Driver licenses in the US are basically an be-all ID that you're an American citizen. Giving them these will screw up a lot of things.
I agree, I can see why we would want them to be licensed (They're going to be driving either way, but at least now they know the rules and such better), but on the other hand a Driver's License is a catch-all ID here.
Oh look, a waste of money.
gotta keep the brown people out somehow!
they shouldn't be illegal in the first place. a person shouldn't be considered a criminal for crossing some imaginary line
By your words I shouldn't be considered a criminal if I trespassed onto your property. I'll see you tonight. :quagmire:
If you're going to come to live here, do it legally. Get the papers, become a US citizen, and I'll have no problem. If you decide to cross the border illegally and expect government benefits then that's where I cross the line and turn to the "get out of this country" mood.
Your property lines are "imaginary lines".
i dont believe in private property for that reason but i was pointing out that the country is not even private property in the first place
i dont believe in private property for that reason but i was pointing out that the country is not even private property in the first place
If somebody was in your house "just because" would you kick them out? Yes, or no? Legitimate question, I want to know.
i dont believe in private property for that reason but i was pointing out that the country is not even private property in the first place
Can I have your computer
Can I have your computer
That is personal property, not private property.
By your words I shouldn't be considered a criminal if I trespassed onto your property. I'll see you tonight. :quagmire:
There is such a thing as public land. Why can't Mexicans go onto it?
That is personal property, not private property.
Difference being?
My entitlement. Go through the proper channels and respect our country's laws please. Yes, United States citizenship is hard to get, as it should be. Feel free to fuck off and go apply for Brazilian citizenship or any other country for that matter. Print more work visas, get people willing to work over here as soon as possible. If you want to work and follow the laws, then you deserve to receive every benefit that any US citizen has.

Immigration laws are to illegal immigration as DRM is to piracy: Immigration laws get more and more draconian, which causes more Mexicans to jump illegally, which causes worse immigration laws and so on. [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] It doesn't help that life sucks for most Mexicans over there.
If I was in mexico I might just go to the US because how bad the cartels are.
