I find that bullets make deeper ones.
big fucking deal
She gave them their money back and wasn't rude or abusive, i don't think its right, but atleast she was polite about it.
Well I don't agree with her, but technically she's allowed to do it.
Bitch
This just in people can refuse to let just anyone waltz into their home.
Well I don't agree with her, but technically she's allowed to do it.
Debatable.
What these people did was wrong. Do they deserve to be hung? No, but they need to get over their shit and not give a damn.
It's their own preferences. If they prefer to not have homosexuals sleeping in their guest house, it's their right to refuse it. Even if they are running a business, it's a business on their own personal property.
If I prefer to keep people who shed hair off of my furniture, I'm allowed to keep them from shedding their damn hair all over my nice couch.

A convenience store is the store owner's personal property.
A hotel is the hotel owner's personal property.
They have to follow discrimination laws and so do B&B owners.

No not really, neither of them live in a hotel or their shop.

Once people start selling slushies and have lobbies in their guest houses, I'll admit you might have an argument.

Private companies can't refuse the provision of goods or services based on sexual orientation, just because it's her house doesn't make it not a business.
Private companies can't refuse the provision of goods or services based on sexual orientation, just because it's her house doesn't make it not a business.
Except she is not a company.
Except she is not a company.
Nor is this a public building or business.
Nor was she acting in a rude or offensive matter, as it said in the article.
You people act like she tossed a golf club at them.
Except she is not a company.
I need a lawyer.
The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007
4.—(1) It is unlawful for a person (“A”) concerned with the provision to the public or a section of the public of goods, facilities or services to discriminate against a person (“B”) who seeks to obtain or to use those goods, facilities or services—
(a)by refusing to provide B with goods, facilities or services
This applies to and I quote
"accommodation in a hotel, boarding house or similar establishment"

Unless England is Communistic, there's your problem right there.

It's not saying the goods have to be public?
This is why I don't do law.
It's not saying the goods have to be public?

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought that referring to goods as "Public Goods" meant that the goods have to be public.
It's saying if you choose to sell a good or service to the public you can't then decline those who want that good or service because of their sexual orientation.
Oh, I'm sorry, I thought that referring to goods as "Public Goods" meant that the goods have to be public.
Where does it say public goods?
r8ed bad reading
Well I'm not particularly familiar with what English law states, but it's still a private house and a private business, and she should be allowed to refuse service to anyone she doesn't want living in her guest house.
God damn Wackadoo England with its crazy laws.
This is an outrage
[editline]06:31PM[/editline]
:argh:
Yeah god damn England using legislation to stamp out discrimination and create a more tolerant and equal society god damn
As stupid and intolerant as it is, it is their bed and breakfast, they have a right to kick out any person they please.
As stupid and intolerant as it is, it is their bed and breakfast, they have a right to kick out any person they please.
The law says different.
The law says different.
So the law states that no matter what, Gays have the right to my house?
Okay.
So you are saying that if a robber murders fifteen people in their house, then ties them up and wears their skin as clothes, they can't be charged because it's THEIR house, and they have the right to murder whoever the want to.
What.
So the law states that no matter what, Gays have the right to my house?
Nope. Only if you're already supplying accommodation to the public.
[editline]01:37AM[/editline]
Okay.

No but they have a right to decline business just like any other business can
No but they have a right to decline business just like any other business can
You can't decline business on the basis of sexual orientation. Not in the UK at least.
[editline]01:43AM[/editline]
I'm not sure if there's exceptions if the person lives there or not, reading up on it now.
Would be helpful if the 2006 Equality Act had a section on B&Bs
Well I don't agree with her, but technically she's allowed to do it.
Bitch
She was doing her job.
Read, seriously people, its not hard.
Yeah god damn England using legislation to stamp out discrimination and create a more tolerant and equal society god damn
Yeah god damn England taking away your right to refuse service on the basis of your personal beliefs.
[editline]01:53AM[/editline]
The law says different.
You know the law used to say that black people and women had no right to vote.
(I'm not sure if it still says that in England, but here it doesn't.)
