The longer we wait the better the tech will be. Next year it will be 10 years since HL2's release so if they don't have anything to show by then to the public I will then be pissed. It's annoying that Half Life has been mistreated but it's not like there aren't other games to bide the time with.
The Duke Nukem fans waited 10 years and their game didn't improve with the tech. Maybe we need to remind Valve about "Forever"?

Valve isn't 3d Realms.

Valve is constantly updating the source engine, with every game released that is not episode 3 shows that.
My money is on that until they figure out a perfect way to involve vr they wont do much with hl3
Just stop thinking about how good or bad it will be.

The time between half life 1 and half life 2 was 6 years. The last half life came out 6 years ago. Episode 3 confirmed for 2013 e3. Notice the 3 3s?

E also looks similar to a 3, if you flip it

Half-life E confirmed.

April Fools hurr durr
http://steamdb.info/app/800/
What a weak April Fool's joke. HL3 would've caused more shitstorming.

Three 3s would be better, and more fitting.
Ep3 confirmed for 2033 E3

Didn't even know tommorow was april fool.

I just love how it says it can be only played on linux
so did we ever figure out what valve showed?
I just love how it says it can be only played on linux
Reminds me of back when steam for linux was announced, way too many linux fanatics were jizzing about that meaning steam would one day be exclusive to it
so did we ever figure out what valve showed?
Nothing.
It was later revealed that Dave Oshry was referring to a partnership between Valve and Interceptor Entertainment to put his upcoming game on Steam. David Goldfarb has also revealed he was also "in on the joke", showing that this whole situation may have been a scheme intended to generate hype for the products of those involved.
I can just imagine it.
April 1st
Valve announces Episode 3.
Everyone thinks that they're joking.
But the real joke is that they're not.
Nothing.

That's actually pretty annoying, it's seems quite cruel to use a community that only wants to finish the Half-Life story or see something new from Valve to your advantage, and make them have to suffer the hype train all over again. Honestly I knew it wasn't Half Life 3, but I really wanted to see a Source 2 demonstration. Valve needs to show us only a little Half-Life 3/Source 2 media and it will stabilize the community for a while.
Valve needs to just release something on HL3, all we want to know is that it's in development and I doubt the community would be that hard on them at that point.
As for journalists, they should create a rule saying any outlets requesting any information on Half Life 3 will be blacklisted. That'd get them to fuck off.

I think au contraire. If anything, it would cause the community to explode with hype levels leaving the solar system.
I bet the Half Life storyline was going in the way of Bioshock Infinite's, but Ken beat them to the punch so now they are re-writing the game again.

But at least there'd be hype for a valid reason, instead of people getting worked up over every idiot on Twitter who wants to abuse HL fans by trolling them.
