"No More Black Targets" is Fighting to Remove Black Silhouettes from Shooting Ranges
It takes less ink to print a black target with a white silhouette than the other way around. My local range (the NRA headquarters, funnily enough) sells targets printed on cream-colored paper, with black ink surrounding the silhouette.
Anyways, thanks to the preditctable reactionary kneejerk of the entire Internet (including Facepunch), this movement is getting exactly the attention they wanted and making more people aware of the ample research showing unconscious bias in police and civilian shoot/don't shoot scenarios. Whether or not the color of silhouette has any causal relationship is entirely irrelevant, it's an art project With A Cause™ and this sort of attention is exactly what they're after.
Rad. Any incremental step towards a positive change is for the better.
