Casey Anthony Sued by Caylee Search Team For $100,000
She "gained" credibility for her lie (of her daughter being alive) at the expense of this group's efforts and resources. She didn't want to turn down the help of the search group because it would have incriminated her (why would you turn down a groups help to find your missing child?).
So instead of saying "no, my daughter is already dead, I don't need your help" (which according to her defense, she knew she was dead from the beginning), she had them go ahead with the search under the promise of "I know she's still alive out there" in order to strengthen her lie. So yes, there's a possibility the court can see this as a form of "unjust enrichment".
Bottom line, as I said in my post before: She had a missing persons group go searching for a person who she knew wasn't missing
My understanding is that she reported her daughter missing, as in "She's missing, I don't know if she's alive or dead". This means all those people searching were searching for a kid who could have been dead or alive. Maybe I misunderstood what I read though.

Here's her own words:
Miller told Fox 35 that he remembers showing up at Anthony's house in summer 2008. “She hugged us and kissed her on the cheek, and I said ‘I’m so sorry about what you’re going through right now,’ and she said ‘Well, thanks for being here right now. I know she’s alive out there somewhere so please bring her back.'”
But according to her defense, she knew she was dead at the time she told that to the search group. This means the search shouldn't have even taken place and they would have saved time and money to use searching for other people. This money and time was wasted searching for a person who she already (in her own words) knew was never missing.
Nobody gives a shit about your armchair analysis of the evidence, a jury of her peers found her INNOCENT.
The media conduct surrounding the Casey Anthony trial has been absolutely APPALLING. Regardless of whether or not she is guilty or innocent in the mind of the public, she was found to be innocent. I don't care what she did - I thought in America being found innocent in a court of law meant something. We're degenerating to mob rule which the court system was supposed to replace.
The fact that several well known news sources are practically calling out for her death is disgusting, given the fact that as far as American law is concerned, she is completely innocent besides the charges of providing false information.
It really is sad that the court system means nothing to these people. People are wrongly accused and tried for horrendous crimes all of the time - It is just the media coverage that is making this into one embarrassing "social issue" for people to spout their ignorance about.
People do give a shit though, because people don't like seeing obvious murderers get off on a technicality, like OJ Simpson. There are still numerous unanswered questions, like why was she partying and smiling right after her daughter died, why did she wait a month to report her daughter missing (and later said she knew she was dead the whole time?). None of it really adds up, and a lot of people actually do "care what she did"
can people just leave this woman alone already? caylee is long gone
I would remind her of what she did every day of her fucking life.
I would remind her of what she did every day of her fucking life.
I don't know if she would care though, she seems like a selfish emotionless bitch. Seeing as how she didn't seem as effected by the fact that her daughter was dead, as much as she cared about being punished.
Karma is a bitch. Casey Anthony is just a bigger one.

what a waste of time lmao

yes!
This just in people:
George and Cindy Anthony purchased a LEAFBLOWER at Home Depot. What could this mean?
I know she’s alive out there somewhere so please bring her back.
I'm supposed to believe the searchers heard that and took it literally? This mother, who could not say where the daughter is, somehow magically 'knows' she's alive?
No, the searchers would take that as the words of a desperate mother, hoping that her child wasn't dead.

Too bad she cannot be re-tried for Caylee's murder.

They can do what they did to OJ an sue for wrongful death.

you're cool

were you taught about the justice system at all in school or did you just not pay attention
double jeopardy is horrible no matter how much the media tells you to hate somebody

come on, bro
the money she used by withholding information from the search team needs to be re-payed

I agree with this. Did she do it? IMHO, yes, she did. That's irrelevant, though. The prosecution put up an appalling front - relying, from what I know, on an argument that was largely based on the premise that she was a bad mother (and subsequently assuming that the jury would make the leap from bad mother > murderer). It's disgusting that people are saying this is what breaks their belief in the US judicial system. There are PLENTY of things to abhor about the US justice system, but this isn't one of them.
Edit: Also, yes, I hope that this lawsuit goes through. Based on her team's own argument, as previously mentioned, if she knew Caylee was dead, she wasted an incredible amount of time, money and energy.

...Sanius never refuted that, or said anything to that effect.

Were you?? SHE CANNOT BE TRIED AGAIN. THIS WOULD BE DOUBLE JEOPARDY.
I THINK HE KNOWS THAT BY NOW
I would remind her of what she did every day of her fucking life.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I know americas justice system is shite, but you're still innocent till proven guilty over there right? And she was proven, by a jury, to be innocent.
...Sanius never refuted that, or said anything to that effect.
he said that everyone needed to leave her alone
it's heavily implying he's on her side in this case
Yeah, it's like that in most if not all first world countries I'm sure.
Guilty until proven innocent is definitely a sign of a shitty dictatorship country.
HOWEVER, she was not proven to be innocent, just not proven to be guilty. That's how it works!
Correct me if I'm wrong, I know americas justice system is shite, but you're still innocent till proven guilty over there right? And she was proven, by a jury, to be innocent.
just because the verdict is made doesn't mean the verdict is correct
by law she is innocent though yes
He's just misusing the phrase. She was not proven innocent, she simply was not proven guilty.
He's just misusing the phrase. She was not proven innocent, she simply was not proven guilty.
I'm running on 3 hours of sleep here, wrote it wrong :v:, but yeah, if you have evidence that she was guilty, why didn't you speak up? Oh, you don't? And no, her being a bitch doesn't classify as evidence.
The prosecution was shitty enough to get this woman who failed to report a missing child for a month acquitted of negligence at least so whatever

True, but you have to remember, how would you feel if I spent every waking moment calling you worse than hitler for something a jury said you didn't do?
Were you?? SHE CANNOT BE TRIED AGAIN. THIS WOULD BE DOUBLE JEOPARDY.
uh okay thanks for repeating exactly what I said in caps lock

juries have come to some pretty shit decisions sometime
you're pulling out of a pool of registered americans over 18, and 70% of americans don't know what the constitution is and about 65% of them don't believe gay marriage is okay
you're pulling out of a pool of people who didn't pay attention at school and don't understand morals all too well so you're bound to have some shitty, shitty verdicts
lmao morals should have absolutely no baring on the verdict

You're forgetting that the mainstream media, something most of these people watch every day, already marked her as guilty, leaving a seed in their minds, if the defense lawyer could beat that+any evidence worth a damn, he's the best bullshitter I've ever heard about.

Don't they pick jury members who have little knowledge of the case?
