I'm looking at the Sketchlab thing... is it below the the inputs and disc tray on the front?
See the horizontal line cutting across the front? Right there are the two buttons.
Oh damn, that is one tiny power button. If I had zoomed in more I may have noticed it stuck out a bit. Looks like one activates the disc tray and one has the power symbol. Thanks.
Do people actually power up their consoles with the power buttons?
I only use the disk eject button on my PS3.

I use the power button on my 360 controller.

That's what I think most people do with their X360 / PS3's

Microsoft used PR!
honestly it shouldn't take a week of people making countless jokes about the xbone and tearing ms a new asshole over these absolute piss poor decisions at one of the biggest electronics shows of the year for them to finally realize that this was a terrible idea
why are video games the only industry where consumer concerns are constantly dismissed and handwaved as "bitching", "complaining", and "moaning".
If the Kinetic is still required to be plugged in when it is 'disabled', I doubt it is truly 'off'.
why are video games the only industry where consumer concerns are constantly dismissed and handwaved as "bitching", "complaining", and "moaning".
Because they do it for every. Fucking. Thing. It doesn't matter who the target audience is, it doesn't matter that there is a logical reason to do so. Valve could go out and make a game for three year olds and people would bitch that Valve aren't listening to them.
Microsoft used PR!
It wasn't very effective.
It wasn't very effective.
More like immune.
why do you care so much im just happy they realized they were making a mistake and werent so prideful that they refused to change
imagine if an average PC gamer made these decisions at microsoft. they'd probably be stubborn babies and never change.
glad microsoft has the decency to actually say "oops lol" and change it. oh, and there's a big thing people are forgetting.
THE CONSOLE IS NOT OUT. It hasn't intruded on anybody's privacy, and the DRM hasn't inconvenienced ANYBODY.
price drop and the one will do fairly well

the "average pc gamer" wouldn't have come up with these awful ideas to begin with
then again, the "average pc gamer" would probably say that you shouldn't even be playing on a console and should invest in a solid rig anyway
Has anyone else considered that Microsoft actually planned this? Make a bunch of disappointing announcements, just to back pedal and change all of it a few weeks later. Just seems incredibly counterproductive, to the point that it almost seems intentional for some fucked up reason
I might just be dumb tho

It's a tad bit crazy. It's not on the "NSA using Kinect to spy" level of crazy, but something you probably shouldn't gloss over more than once.

i think the average pc gamer would have some awful ideas like uhh.. no game genres i don't like, best graphics ever so only people with good pcs like me can play them, steam only, no big publishers
First off everyone complained and wanted change, but now that they have change they ignore it.
Don't think I heard that many people complaining about wanting change, most people simply laughed their fucking arses off at microsoft for making such stupid decisions
now people are laughing again because microsoft are desperately trying to backpedal on their stupid decisions
The fact that people are even trying to defend microsoft after all they've said is really hard to understand for me.
I simply don't understand why Microsoft would bundle the kinect with the xbone.
It's obviously the reason why the console is a hundred bucks more expensive than the ps4, and people obviously hate thedamn thing, no good core games with kinect controls have been released not to mention the (unlikely) possibility than Microsoft could be spying on you
Microsoft do the bundle thing like with the 360. Make a "core" no kinect xbone with a game and controller and sell it for less than the ps4, since your hardware is technically worse. I gurantee you will earn loads of emony. .

But then Core games cannot use the Xbone because you need a Kinect :v:
That's cool that they are even removing the "Xbox On" command when the console is in standby. I'll probably still use it though.
I like to play xbox onlin- oh god damnit xbox off!

I think that's exactly what happened, but they nearly lost control
I think Sony played up the industry rumors about used games and always-online and didn't denounce them to play Microsoft into false security for new standards
Microsoft believed their new freedom, but with a grain of salt, so they went ahead and augmented their Xbox One features plan with their end goal console market plans for control over games
They waited for Sony to denounce the bad rumors about their console and try to checkmate them, but it would only be a check, because Microsoft planned to do the same thing and pull the sympathetic Domino's card. They even included a lost incentive to mourn in the family-friend-sharing feature.
I think Microsoft was set up to counter Sony, but they took their sweet time getting it out there, so Microsoft was forced to show E3 their hand of less-than-true intentions, versus their hope to pull the 180 on the stage at E3 for a monumental presentation.
why are video games the only industry where consumer concerns are constantly dismissed and handwaved as "bitching", "complaining", and "moaning".
it depends on the audience, but most of the time some tiny changes not going their way often results in rampant complaining and moaning
NSA: "Yo MS, not a lot of Surveillance-One sales, eh? Fix it."

why would anyone have those ideas
