Insanity: CISPA Just Got Way Worse, And Then Passed On Rushed Vote

You're all a bunch of paranoid idiots. It's still got to go through Obama, who has personally stated multiple times he'd veto it, the Senate, which probably doesn't even know how to pass a bill anymore, and the Supreme court, which was created specifically to block stuff like this.
I'm kind of curious how many people have read the bill, let alone keep thinking that the government is going to go batshit with it and imprision everyone they find torrenting LMFAO's next album.
Just proves how completely messed up our country is. Our generation is represented in government by a bunch of corrupt 50-somethings who wouldn't know what a mouse is if your slapped them with one, let alone how the internet works.
Hey America, please stop.

Lets send out all the anti-social maniacs on to the streets! That'll do the world good.
I feel sorry for Americans who have to put up with all these proposed internet bills.
Vote for SATIB today! (Stop All These Internet Bills).

You shouldn't feel sorry for americans, you should feel for most of first world. If one of these bills passes in US, same shit will be tried to be pushed in europe. As we saw with ACTA, they can be proposed and if it passes in US, it has quite some chance of sooner or later passing in EU or at least some eu countries.
Even if it does not pass, these laws will affect international companies who reside in US and that is not good for consumers all over the world. A win in america strengthens media corporations, resistance only makes their penises harder.
I still want to know how this means corruption. The government won't waste resources just Ito fuck you over for no reason. They'll obviously need to be suspicious of you in the first place or it would be expenive as hell
Are you retarded? They aren't spending their money, it's the citizens money and they waste a shit ton of it on a daily basis.
Two-party political system: Check.
Trillion dollar debt: Check.
Allowing the population to own guns: Check.
Passing idiotic laws that nobody wants and pisses everyone off: Fucking Stupid

are you kidding
this is a country where it's common practice to send expensive heavily armed SWAT teams to people's homes because they may or may not be growing a certain type of plant and/or be in possession of it's bud trimmings
Does the American congress consist of a bunch of apes that votes on exactly what the lobby tells them to?
at this point an up-and-coming politician could literally make a campaign promise to force a bill through that expressly forbids bills like these from ever happening and he'd win the president election instantly
you guys should just amend the constitution with a "thou shalt not fuck with the internet in the interest of hollywood and big companies" thing
This won't pass the Senate, right?
Right?
D:
Correct. The Senate has their own bill known only as the Senate Cybersecurity Bill. Unlike CISPA, Obama endorses this one. While the Senate's version is much more relaxed, I'd rather have neither.

Yeah mostly. It was bought and paid for a long time ago - that's how corporatocracy works :)
how does something like this happen
american system is so dumb, war needs to be wagered on these people
Wagered? Like "I bet this guy will win" sort of wager? or did you mean waged?
