It's interesting to think about if we can at some point have such technology that we'd be basically gods, as a human race as whole that is, individually that wouldn't exactly be possible.
This scares me and I don't know why.
I made a song a while ago called Future Prospects, on exactly this subject
Futari's will be everywhere
Or we won't need to breed because cloning? Honestly by that point, we could be the fucking Greys.
The end is coming. [sp]sorry i had to[/sp]
Futari's will be everywhere
i wish futanaris would be everywhere
Sorry,couldn't help it

should have put it after Earth were irradiated.
Long before that time I'm sure genetic engineering will be sufficiently advanced to avoid that happening
Or, under my assumption that I am the Highlander, I will be the last man left.
Sorry,couldn't help it

Oh goddamn it, and I was just working on this :v:
I question this. Males have existed in a huge amount of animal species, and all mammal species, for several hundred million years. Why would they suddenly disappear in 5m? There are tremendous evolutionary advantages to having two sexes, as evidenced by the widespread existence of it in the first place. I'm no expert but this claim seemingly defies logic.
edit: It seems the claim is possibly false after all. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-17127617
According to that article there was previously decay in the mammalian Y chromosome but it has come to a halt judging from comparative studies. It seems more likely, then, that a big event in our evolutionary history rendered a lot of genes in the Y chromosome redundant, meaning the previous massive decay was simply a genetic correction that has now been completed. I'm assuming the claim in the OP was based on linear extrapolation of this gene loss, which would be a flawed method and paint an inaccurate picture in this cause.
It's probably an extrapolation that assumes genetic and evolutionary stagnation, which in a real world scenario is never the case. Being exposed to a shifting environment will inevitably develop different methods of breeding.
this is bullshit if future predictions are so right why dont i go shopping with this sweet baby

i just hope that in the far future, our women don't think with their dicks.
Its sort of depressing knowing that nothing we do is actually permanent. Everything we have achieved will eventually be gone and there is next to nothing we can do about it.
Though, that's a long way off, so no need to worry about that now.
I remedy this by reading science fiction, there's a lot we can do to fight the big empty void with exotic technology let me tell you :v:
Or, under my assumption that I am the Highlander, I will be the last man left.
that's not how it works
if you're the only one then you get to be mortal
what year do I get my dual lazer guns
wheres the part where we take over the galaxy and replace our arms with railguns?
about 50'000'000

This reminds me of the song "In the year 2525" but far more optimistic.
All cellular life on Earth will die. I wonder... Life on another planet.. They will be able to see our planet, with all his great human and natural beauties? Or it will fall before they could develope or even recognize our planet?
I'm deppresed now. All of our work will be useless at one point. So I guess.. We will enjoy this moments right?
Wow, the one about how in 5,000,000 years it will be impossible to create men due to the death of the Y chromosome is fascinating. I never knew that could happen, we're destined to be extinct no matter what, we have our own biological self destruct switch.
It's bollocks.
that's not how it works

Shit.
I didn't think this through there can be only two then.

no, evolution selected for the genes in the current y chromosome. It's pretty safe right now.
I was a bit confused at that, too. I was under the impression that the Earth would be swallowed by our Sun long before the "end of times," unless we could somehow preserve the Earth.
It also assumes that humans, our descendants or remnants couldn't possibly survive. We don't know that. Although surviving through all that would require some utmost-level of dedication.
dont worry, ladies.
we've still got 5 million years to make sure you're ready so you can live without your current high dependency. :v:
now i must forget this picture
because info about the future makes my mind blow
Wow, kind of reminds me how trivial we are. All this stuff happens over millions of billions of years, and humans will hardly be able to see any of it happen. What's millions of centuries to us is the blink of an eye for the universe. Kind of makes me hope, or wish, that after death, we can have some sort of back seat to watch all of this happen, and to watch how humanity reacts and stands the test of time. I wanna see how much of this humanity can manage to prevent or work-around. I wanna know if we'll manage to colonize far away planets and just watch all of this happen to our planet.
Wow, imagine that. The day the Earth dies, streamed to huge, distant screens to a race that no longer has a planet.
I imagine mankind's future will be sort of like Asimov's Foundation future. So far spread across that galaxy that we don't even remember which planet we originated from, just a guess from a certain region but it won't matter because we have had spread throughout the stars so long that "this" is "how it's always been".
As for seeing "how man makes it through" in the long run, I'm curious to see how our galaxy-wide empire deals with the Andromeda galaxy eating us. If I remember correctly, when the galaxies collide, quite a few solar systems are going to be flung out into the depths of deep space.
Don't worry, it will be "dead" loooooooooooooooooooooooooong before that.
Even so, it's an eerie feeling, the earth (if not absorbed into the sun before that) will have been through so much, all the life that has ever walked the earth, including humans and every thing that have done, everything they will do, and all the darkness that follows. Even if the earth becomes inactive long before it finally plunges into the sun, the remaining shell of humanities birthplace has sentimental value (probably not to distant future humans though) and imagining it just disappearing like that, is like I said, eerie, and generally sad.

I think we'd be able to remember where we came from, unless we WANTED to forget at some point, which could be where we are right now, maybe a human race planted us here and wanted us to forget and have another go at civilizations.
Anyone know what would cause the end of C3 and C4 photosynthesis?
And I also find it so fascinating that if the Earth didn't get annihilated by the sun turning into a red giant, or torn apart by andromeda colliding with the milky way, or the local cluster merging, that it would take one hundred quintillion years for its orbit to decay.
Actaully, that is just if everything stayed the same, because eventaully everything in the universe will be black holes because everything else is gone(assuming no big rip etc.).
But don't worry, eventaully the big bang will happen again due to something quantam related that I can't remember.

I can't help but find that hilarious and I don't know why
