Yes, and North Korea is definitely not tank country which would render a good portion of an assault ineffective. Unfortunately for the North Koreans, all they have going for them is home field advantage, terrain, and numbers, they lack in everything else and it's everything else that truly matters except the numbers. They have a huge military, yes, but there's also probably a few million Type 63 rifles (SKS clone) in storage that they'd immediately start arming every fucking person with. Seoul may be the target of a metric fuckton of artillery batteries, but let's be honest here, the architecture of the city is designed around that very fact and there's regular drills that clear the streets in minutes. An artillery attack on the city would cause severe damage, but it wouldn't be the crushing blow the North Koreans would be hoping for. They'd immediately shell the city, but the warning would have already been given to the population and they'd hunker down and take it. From there it would be a quick series of air sorties to eliminate the immediate threat and start leveling important shit. What little resistance the North Korean air force could muster would be firmly and quickly crushed, and then it would turn into one gigantic clusterfuck of a ground war. War in North Korea wouldn't be easy, but by no means would it be impossible.
The fact that north korea has a massive shortage of food and fuel means that they couldn't sustain any kind of proper attack or even a minor conflict for very long. Like, under 2 weeks, and that's being generous.
that moment when the tv adverisements say please donate to feed these arfrican children who are starving north korea easily has 10x the people *ba dum tsshh*
Are you saying NK has more people than the whole continent of Africa?
NK is just a fucking mosquito bite on planet earth, I dont say we should nuke it, hell no. But we need to do something drastic to help the people.
I think the major world leaders need to get together and decide what to do with North Korea. Seriously, do we really want to proceed into the 21st century with that pseudo state existing? I mean, imagine in the year 2089, Somalia and Sudan are highly developed and stable democracies and yet North Korea is the same tyrannical joke that it is now. I don't think it will take that many years to fix North Korea, but it shouldn't be allowed to persist.
Woman: "Did you hear? Glorious Leader is very glorious!" NK Secret Police: "Ma'am, I'm afraid you are gossiping about Glorious Leader. He is not very glorious, he is very, very Glorious! You are one very too short! Gossip about Glorious Leader is not tolerated. You are coming with us!"
A logical solution to a mosquito bite is to leave it alone and let it heal. Dunno if your analogy fits here.
Heal? That's going to be another couple of hundred years before it heals. Normally when bitten, apply medicine(Mozzie cream). Medicine in the form of bullets. If we'd have waited for Germany to stop committing war crimes then 6 million would of been a small figure. Many people down there don't have a hundred years to wait for a change in leadership. Maybe if oil was discovered there we'd go save them from the death camps.
