Time to go find a free satellite!!
do you have a source?
http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/exploration.html Not sure about the funding but any money helps. There's not nearly as much money going into the ocean as into NASA. (except when their shit falls into it) I'd be willing to bet that most of the exploration comes from Oil, Gas, and Mining companies trying to find another spot to exploit. Unless you count the NOAA with their fancy sonar trawlers but that's as exploratory as looking at space with a telescope, you only learn so much. The satellite is fucked. The amount of money it would take to go find it then rebuild it would be close to what it would cost to build a new one. Not to mention it's not designed to hold up to the enormous pressures. Computers are fucked, sensitive equipment is fucked, structural integrity is fucked, it's not worth retrieving. now the dolphins have our technology.
now the dolphins have our technology.
perhaps we can form an alliance with the dolphins utilizing our technology to help fight the war on terror?
I kind of find it ironic that it sunk in the ocean...I heard that if we invested the same amount of money for 1 year for NASA, it can fund centuries of underwater expeditions. Seriously, our oceans are still a mystery. Maybe we should learn more about our planet before what's above it.
Here's an idea, completley crazy one but here me out. Lets do both at once.
Yeah, soon NASA is going to be putting iPhones on weather balloons.
iPhones are too expensive, due to the budget cuts, they'll have to use a Motorola W755 lifted up by twelve red and pink party balloons.
I guess there's a reason why "rocket science" is still synonymous with really complex stuff.
It's not that hard to build properly working separation systems, after all, it's been done several hundred times before. This is just the result of budget cuts leading to buying cheap rockets.
At least nobody died
That's the problem! There's the about a 500 million sitting in ocean don't you forget that! Lives worth sitting in ocean! Wrecked! :colbert:
Someone, somewhere, has been sacked
At least nobody died
Other then the hearts of NASA. [editline]5th March 2011[/editline]
Someone, somewhere, has been sacked
Under the sea... Somewhere, There is 500M waiting for me :v:
Ahahahaha, fuck NASA
Under the sea... Somewhere, There is 500M waiting for me :v:
Nah, sorry; Spongebob's already got it
Nah, sorry; Spongebob's already got it
No, fuck NASA. Fuck NASA and their Stargate logo. They want all the stargates to themselves.
No, fuck NASA. Fuck NASA and their Stargate logo. [img_thumb]http://www.topnews.in/files/NASA_0.gif[/img_thumb] They want all the stargates to themselves.
Oh go crawl back into your cave and discover fire. Space is the future, man.
The future is now, idiot. Also, remove the NASA and you have the circle and triangle thing left. It symbolises a Stargate. Stop promoting stupidity
The future is now, idiot.
No it isn't. Do you know the meaning of the word?
No it isn't. Do you know the meaning of the word?
No, the future that we've been waiting for thousands of years. Don't let time trap you man.
the future that we've been waiting for
Umm... I still don't get it. I live this one life here, where have you been going?
I meant we as in humanity. From times of the biggest nuclear blast that ever occurred on the planet, from the Giza Pyramid power plant that blew up the last greatest civilization.
I meant we as in humanity. From times of the biggest nuclear blast that ever occurred on the planet, from the Giza Pyramid power plant that blew up the last greatest civilization.
Ah... so the medieval era is over is it? Poverty and the death penalty is still around in places... which tells me that humanity as a whole hasn't completely changed. Going into space has caused us to discover new things within technology. Very beneficial.
For something that costs around 230 million dollars, you would think they would triple check everything.
For something that costs around 230 million dollars, you would think they would triple check everything.
Yeah, but this was really a conspiracy! They needed to send the Dolphins (who are really our secret allies) a satellite but they needed a legitimate reason for it be falling into the ocean!
Oh shit it fell in the ocean, Cloverfield is coming.
It's obvious the US dont want any environment scanning satellites in space because global warming is a myth and we need more oil to die faster!
I wouldn't drive a Taurus to the supermarket. I certainly wouldn't trust a Taurus to lift my $424M satellite either.
I get the joke, and agree. But I'm a Taurus and also think the new Ford Taurus is sexy looking for a Ford Sedan.
I think exploring the oceans is boring. Lets keep funding NASA.
2 months later "Pacific Ocean Fish Empire successfully brings satellite into orbit"

Rush Limbaugh is already calling it a conspiracy to stop the satellite that would have disproved global warming. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201103040031
