A 20-year-old man has been arrested and an elderly woman lucky to be alive after he allegedly hit her over the head with a shovel while high on bath salts.
Robert William White of Glendale, California was apprehended by police after hitting the 77-year-old woman with the shovel after she saw him swinging it at birds.
'I hate you and I want to kill you today,' he told the woman when she asked him to stop, according to a neighbour speaking to the Glendale News.
Police who responded to reports of the man trying to kill the woman at the apartment complex found White barricaded inside his apartment.
'He seemed completely out of sorts,' said Northwest Glendale Police Lt Bruce Fox speaking to the paper.
THERE ARE HOLES IN YOUR STORY, ROBERT.
More importantly, why the hell do people keep taking bath salts? How many stories of salt-sniffing psychos do we need to hear before the message sinks in that bath salts AREN'T a good idea for a fun time?
e: I also now know they're not literally bath salts
Isn't the name "bath salts" a name for some shitty synthetic drug?

No its salts you put in a bath.
No its salts you put in a bath.
You're probably joking, but I was wondering too and this is what I found. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designer_drug#Common_Names
No its salts you put in a bath.
Bath salts and "Bath salts" are not the same thing, they should really use one of the other names like "Vanilla Sky" or something.
Bath salts and "Bath salts" are not the same thing.
This took me way too long to understand. It wasn't until I was in a skypecall with a friend I said "How the hell do you get high on bath salts anyway, and if they're so dangerous why are they still openly availible for people to buy"
And my friend was like "you're an idiot"

A lot of 'legal highs' and designer drugs class themselves as 'bath salts' and not for human consumption, this makes it legal for them to be sold as they are not technically intended to be snorted, swallowed or smoked.

perhaps if the label said "this packet contains synthetic stimulant mdpv. a dose is around 3-10mg. don't consume more than the recommended dose. stimulant abuse will cause extreme insomnia and could eventually lead to temporary psychosis."
instead of "luxurious bath salts, add to warm bath and enjoy
NNOT 4 HUMAN CONSUMPTION LMAO"
then we wouldn't have this problem

People who are going to take it dont really read the label
People who are going to take it dont really read the label
yes they do
People who are going to take it dont really read the label
Well only because there is nothing about it on the label, it forces me to research it online which a lot of people can't be bothered to do, people would benefit greatly from a recommended dose on the package
yes they do
I dont.
there was some kid on here who got some "bath salts" in a capsule (first clue on what you're supposed to do with it) freaking out because he was sweating like fuck and paranoid because he swallowed it. his mate was like "dude u were supposed to just put it in your bath and inhale the steam and you get high!!"
lol
Are bath salts a relatively new phenomenon or have they just increased in popularity over the past couple of years? I've heard about them for a while now but it seems like all this crazy shit that's been happening only started in the last few years.
I dont.
well then you're the type who shouldn't consume powerful drugs in the first place

I'm so fucking confused what do you even do with this shit, snort it? smoke it? sniff its fumes when put into water? What is this thing!

Are there holes in his story, or are there holes in the bible's?

Since it's a capsule I imagine the process is this:
1. Swallow Capsule.
2. Murder things and eat faces.
3. Jail time.

pretty new, the drugs themselves have been sold underground for years with little ill effects to those who seek them, who are usually well versed on the dangers and effects.
then some bright spark decided to unleash them on the general public as 'legal highs'

It's like this new cheap ass alternative to heroin in Russia, it's so horrible, yet people do it. It's called krokadil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desomorphine
Don't look at the pictures of the effect's if you have a weak stomach. It's fucking disgusting, yet people still do it. It turns your skin scaly and brown/green in hours, then rots away at your body.

The actual drug in it isnt bad, its because they don't filter out the desomorphine from the iodine and lighter fluid etc so all the other stuff causes those effects.

That shit is absolutely disgusting ... I dont advise it
Wait they just leave the fucking lighter fluid and reactants and shit in it, and just go to town on that stuff?
Fuck em if they lose their flesh cause of that shit they deserve it.

the people who snort bath salts usually aren't the ones to know what the full effects are/care what it does to them
I saw a documentary with Alexander Shulgin and it showed the inside of his laboratory where he synthesized/created these psychoactive chemicals for recreational use, I think.
Can I assume the stuff that Shulgin makes are 'designer drugs'?
yes
lots of them like mdma and 2-cb are common now
