Knives were designed to be used as killing devices yet they're completely unregulated.
Yes because my set of steak knives was designed to kill people.
Knives that are intended to be used as weapons are just as dumb as guns, and this is exactly the same as perfumley's gold club argument. It's essentially the same thing in fact, because the vast majority of people who own knives own them to use them as tools not as weapons.
Way to miss the point entirely.
Guns are the barrier between democracy and despotism...
Preposterous.
E: Sarcasm?
We're talking about the US.
It's an example bub.
Elaborate.
The reason we have the right to bear arms, is so if the government ever becomes corrupt, we have the ability to defend ourselves, and overthrow the government if need be.

So what if they're not designed to kill? You can still use it as a killing device.
It's an example bub.
But China has nothing to do with this, though. There are more kids shooting up schools than kids slicing up schools in the US.
Yes because your average joe can legally obtain a fully automatic weapon or conceal a firearm.
And because an M16 is easier to conceal than a hunting rifle.

Most people don't own fully automatic weapons. What's your point about the concealability? If someone wants to conceal a gun they'll use a handgun.

What the fuck.
Obviously when I'm talking about concealability I'm talking about hand guns. No shit you can't tuck an m16 in your belt.
Most people don't own fully automatic weapons. What's your point about the concealability? If someone wants to conceal a gun they'll use a handgun.
That's his point. Civilians shouldn't have handguns.
The reason we have the right to bear arms, is so if the government ever becomes corrupt, we have the ability to defend ourselves, and overthrow the government if need be.
This is why I'm pro-guns.
I love the idea they represent.
But China has nothing to do with this, though. There are more kids shooting up schools than kids slicing up schools in the US.
There are more school stabbings. As I said, the reason school shootings are so publicized is because they rarely happen.
So what if they're not designed to kill? You can still use it as a killing device.
You do not understand the point I am making, are you even reading what I'm writing? You're saying the exact same thing perfumley was saying that I was originally arguing against. You can't use the same argument I am debunking to try to prove me wrong.
You're all dumb , you shouldn't get in an argument about banning guns or that kind of stuff . You never ever win
Most people don't own fully automatic weapons. What's your point about the concealability? If someone wants to conceal a gun they'll use a handgun.
That's not the point. He was mentioning that most hunting rifles have a stronger punch than some military issue rifles.
So what if they're not designed to kill? You can still use it as a killing device.
I'm on your side here but you're missing his point.
He's saying that guns are specifically designed to kill and therefor are stupid. Most knives are made to be used as cutting tools, not made specifically to be used as weapons. Though they both can be used as a weapon, a firearm has no practical use other than to kill something.
Though that shouldn't matter, because most people who own firearms use them for recreational purposes because it's part of American culture to do so. I have never been hunting in my life/ever contemplated using one of my guns on any other person, however I have gone out and shot at targets a lot because it's fun. (Last part directed at Kmrt)
That's his point. Civilians shouldn't have handguns.
I doubt you could hit a single target within 25 meters with a handgun.
Obviously when I'm talking about concealability I'm talking about hand guns. No shit you can't tuck an m16 in your belt.
It seemed like you were talking about assault rifles.
This is why I'm pro-guns.

There's gray area in gun laws you know.
It's scary how popular she's getting among the gop.
I doubt you could hit a single target within 25 meters with a handgun.
I can hardly group shots properly on a target 15 meters away with a handgun and I've been shooting my whole life :v:
There's gray area in gun laws you know.
wait, did you reply to that when i still had laws in that? that was a mistake, i edited that out :V
I said that it would be easier to build up the courage to do something while carrying a fire arm rather than a golf club or the like.
Yes but again, it's not as easy as with a firearm, you'd also hesitate killing someone who's a foot taller and stronger than you with your bare hands while with a gun it's no problem.
People feel tough when they're holding guns, I've heard countless news stories where a robber or someone would have a gun with him thinking they're not going to use and it's there just for protection, but then do end up using it just because of how easy it is to make a threat go away.

Everybody here that is anti-gun that doesn't have it through their fucking head that almost all criminals DO NOT legally obtain guns needs to. Badly.
Banning them only takes them away from the people who need them most. Regular, law-abiding citizens that want nothing more than the ability to defend themselves in whatever event a firearm may be required.
i've yet to see someone murder someone else with action figures, And as sported, if a 14 year old kid comes to school wielding a knife or a golf club, at worst 2-3 teachers will jump on him and restrain him, although if a troubled kid from a gunfreak family choose to buy a military grade firearm for a "quick" trip to school...
The whole 'mob the guy with the weapon' thing doesn't happen. People have a very strong sense of self-preservation. Most people won't give up their own safety and rush somebody with a weapon, be it a gun or a knife.
[editline]04:41PM[/editline]
People don't need a lot of things. That's NOT the point though. The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the fucking second amendment. That means anyone who wants a gun may have one as long as they have no legal disqualifications. No ifs or buts. That's how it works here.
One of the few things we agree on.
I can hardly group shots properly on a target 15 meters away with a handgun and I've been shooting my whole life :v:
me too, pistols are hard as fuck :v:

You could still do that with a hunting rifle or something that isn't designed to kill people though too.
I can hardly group shots properly on a target 15 meters away with a handgun and I've been shooting my whole life :v:
I can barely group shots that are 4 meters away :v:
I can hardly group shots properly on a target 15 meters away with a handgun and I've been shooting my whole life :v:
I've been shooting for seven years, and the first time I shot a handgun, the bullets felt like they evaporated. Didn't even make it to the target. I fired a good 20 rounds at a still target before I finally hit it.
You could still do that with a hunting rifle or something that isn't designed to kill people though too.
Hunting rifles aren't nearly as fun as semi-autos TBH.

noob
no i kid

My first shot was with a Glock 19 and I got a bullseye.
:smug:

Why can you say that other countries are better than the US, but when I say that the US is the greatest country on Earth, people get all pissy?
