Leslie Jones (Ghostbusters actress) leaves Twitter after trolls continue to harass her vigorously
I always saw that tyler the creator post as a joke until around 1 year ago when I learned that people actually take it seriously, it's such a dumb concept. Any idiot who asks for "sauce" doesn't know this but there's a service called google that lets you find someone else's accounts on other sites, there's even a site that I won't name I signed up to so I could delete myself from it that will not only find someone across dozens of websites but will also find their location if they ever mentioned it anywhere.
Can't believe I'm aligned against people who usually have sound judgement because cyber bullying is a problem, is bannable on facepunch to the point where even flaming is banned, and ganerumo even was subjected to it across communities despite not knowing the user that bullied him.
I was bullied to the point I pulled a razor across my wrists and awoke in a hospital hours later, so I know about bullying about as much as any one person can. Bullying is wrong, flat out and in every way, it's wrong, the fact I have to state that in every post in blatant terms just so I don't have my words twisted is a form of bullying itself, but no matter. I am against bullying, and I don't think it's ever the victims fault.
With that said, how can one deny the personal responsibility one carries in all situations? You have the responsibility to act in your own best interest, I think you do at least, and part of that is knowing when, and how to deal with the problems you face in life. Yes, it's wrong she got bullied at all, but wrong things happen. What are you going to do about that? Blame life for victim blaming? Yes those people are in the wrong. How people respond to those issues however, IS their own responsibility.
I wish you were all around to defend me from my bullies, but no one was there, not a single fucking person, so I grew up through it with tough skin and the realization that all bullies want is a rise out of you, and if you deny them that, they're fucked. If it is "VICTIM BLAMING" to say that you have the option to help yourself, and you don't, then there is nothing that will make any of you happy in regards to this situation.
Someone on reddit compiled all the interactions between Milo and Leslie. I think it speaks for itself.

Interesting.
I recall an earlier one with him posting a review calling McCarthy fat, isn't that what the I reported you was for?
was tired of people posting out of context tweets
(and somehow claiming that context doesn't matter? what??)

Man Milo is a dick and I disagree with him on a lot of things, but I don't think he deserved a ban, and I think Twitter's political agenda is starting to show. This lady I just feel sorry for, she is clearly out of touch.

I wouldn't call it being out of touch. The problem is (and I mentioned this in the Milo Got Banned thread) that social media is a breeding ground for trolls because most people on social media don't know how to deal with trolls the way people who were on the internet before social media do. All the cool kids from the days of usenet and image boards learned a long time ago that the only way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. The people who came in with social media still think that you have to "be brave" and stand up to trolls. What happened here is a textbook example of how well that really works (spoiler alert: it doesn't).

Going slightly offtopic: Did the Milo Got Banned thread get removed from SH? It disappeared overnight. Usually offtopic/bad threads in SH just get locked.

Got moved to the Drop Dead Threads section.

Thanks.
And there really is a clear bias for the left in Twitter. With the fact that Anita is a part of the safety council.

I dunno man, I recall seeing that the dude had posted edited tweets of Leslie's, wouldn't that fall under just being straight up defamation of character or am I wrong here
Also I wouldn't really be surprised if Milo had been stirring shit on Twitter before this either, the guy wears being a 'right wing troll' on his sleeve in a few of his archived tweets
Pretty sure the fake screenshots were posted among the conflict where they were already being used by anons
[editline]21st July 2016[/editline]
And again, Twitter was honestly looking for any reason to ban him and got lucky tbh, they've wanted to without transparency for a long time

We're probably going to end up in a "fighting about nothing" situation but walking away isn't an option on anything that isn't a video game. That was the point of my post btw.
If I get called a fag on overwatch I've only got to deal with the person for 10 minutes. If I get harassed about my francophone accent on BF3 I can leave. If I were to get shittalked and made fun of on social media and left, my friends and family would see the fake tweets about me.
I wouldn't want to have one of my relatives see images of "my" account tweeting things like "fuck the fags they're all subhuman" and I wouldn't be able to walk away from the PD if someone reported me as a pedo. Cyberbullying can't be walked from in those cases.
You have to stand up for yourself and use the resources available to you. Block vapid shittalking and report litigious fuckery.
My own bullying experience anecdote is counter to your own, for me the alliteration "french faggot" followed me around wether I responded to it or not and when I left the popular areas they just followed me. I still use the backpack whose strap got snapped from a bully pulling on it while chasing me.
I'm not exactly sure of what this woman should have done in this situation but it wasn't run away.

People really need to stop denying cyberbullying being a problem. There's more to cyberbullying than just being sent a mean angry message; its being persistent, insistent, and doing it in ways that even if you block them they don't stop (ergo the family avenue)

milo has a history of going out of his way to provoke and antagonise people on Twitter, either directly insulting them or prodding at them until they lash out and he can play the victim himself. loosing his personal army of basement dwellers on people he disagrees with somewhat regularly.
don't defend this shitstain of a human being. he's done nothing to deserve any praise or admiration.
Man hexpunk, you sure love those generalizations
So I guess all of Milo's followers are basement dwellers, because they disagree with you

i'm not even sure why i'm bothering with this seeing as you're actually psychotic going by posts i've seen, but sure yeah they all are.
especially the ones who follow him like some kind of messianic figure who is "showing the fucking cucks who's boss"
milo is a fucking stain on the internet.

Like with the first paragraph mentioned, I could sorta see why he was banned, but I don't think meek was even giving him any actual praise in the first place, dude. It's pretty evident he feels the opposite way about him in the first sentence.

Bro.
Take a chill pill.

okay, far far ahead of you as I wasn't mad in the first place
i just particularly dislike milo. I can call him a waste of oxygen without actually being mad, that is something humans do.

The alliteration of "Fat fuck" was pretty easy for people to use and harass me with so I get your pain there.
I'm not talking about harassment in video games. I've been stalked in real life, I was bullied for the vast majority of my life before I was 20. That was real life bullying. I received it over my facebook while I used it, I got it in school, at home from parents who blamed me for my own situation, so yeah, I get that you can't just "walk" away from it. But you can't just have a break down and expect that to go better for you then trying to ignore it. I attempted suicide. You'd think that would lessen the amount people make fun of you. It does not. That's when I realized that giving the bullies what they wanted, breaking down, having a reaction was never going to work out for me. What Leslie Jones faced with twitter is nothing like what real bullying is, cyberbullying is very real and it's bad but lets have some perspective.

Aren't that considered stalking and harassment?

This doesn't really seem apparent when he has been allowed to talk about politics for years and was only finally banned after orchestrating a targeted harassment campaign.
You are allowed to be an alt-right fuckwit on Twitter, you just can't break Twitters rules and expect not to be punished.

Nothing about his post seems un-chill to me. Maybe you should relax broheim.
So why are they doing this?

Probably something about it being easy, as in, she responds in a way they find comical
since Milo's thread is DDT'd, he got banned from instagram

Unless you're on the left (especially as a woman or minority), then go ahead and break the rules, you can't be racist/sexist/etc. anyway because you don't have the "power."
Milo is an idiot who probably deserved to be banned. The issue is that they let plenty of other people get away with it.

a site can either be very free speech oriented or it can be the opposite, as long as they're internally consistent there isnt a problem. It would be valid both to either just not ban him in the first place for such a shitty reason, or to ban everyone else who does the same thing.
